[4.0] "Shawn Michael's AWA debut is revealing of how great a wrestler he would become. Michaels shows off some solid technical wrestling, along with his always fantastic selling. Unfortunatley, Buddakhan is less than adequate. He has a good look and is an imposing figure, but his wrestling is sloppy and his selling is simply awful. To finish the match, Michaels pulls off an impressive crossbody to finish the match on ropes that fiercly shake. A serviceable TV match."
[8.0] "This was unexpectedly good stuff. Michaels shows off some impressive mat wrestling to start, before warming up to his more familiar stuff later on. The superkick was funny, with Michaels doing a legslap of Young Bucks or Adam Cole level blatancy, before finishing off with the big splash off some very dubious looking ropes. The post match promo is strange as Shawn speaks with a completely different accent to the one he had just a few years later and kept for the rest of his career. It left me wondering if he is like Undertaker whose speaking voice is completely different out of kayfabe or if his accent just changed over time. This is well worth watching and definitely a star making performance from Shawn."
