When he was in the ring, he looked awkward and bouncy and not in control of his movements. He seemed to be still wrestling a bad WWE main roster style. 3. Reynolds & Silver are essentially jobbers whose only AEW win came on dark in a 6 man tag. Why on God's Green Earth did a match against the TNT Titleholder and a big buff guy making his debut coming over from WWE go this long? Were they putting over Reynolds & Silver? Were they trying to fill time? Were they just trying to artificially build drama? It didn't make sense. 4. Scorpio Sky coming out at the end to challenge Cody for the TNT Title, while it did great to set up next week's Dynamite, killed any shine Cardona got and leaves him in a real "where do I go from here? " position. |

I don't think the Dark Order clone attire does them any favours, though. I know that's kind of the point of the gimmick but they're playing fast and loose with that now with Grayson, Uno, and Anna Jay all having distinctive looks. The indistinctive clone look may be holding these guys back a bit. Cardona is new to me but there wasn't much to go on here, other than the fact that his finisher sucks. Decent match overall. |

It was meant as a showcase for Matt Cardona, but ended up being a showcase for Silver and Reynolds in my opinion, as their double-team moves were really smooth. Silver is underrated because of his size, but he is excellent. Cody is great at selling, so the two supposed underdogs getting the long heat segment was helped greatly by Cody selling his midsection. Cardona got the pinfall and I was just waiting for the turn on Cody, which thankfully didn't happen. Nice start for his AEW career, let's see what he does from here on out. |
