Edge & Sable vs. Jacqueline & Marc Mero

[2.0] "Edge and Mero are solid workers, that didn't change here and they still worked together pretty well, but the addition of Sable and Jacqueline, 2 terrible wrestlers, in the match definitely held it down. It was a whatever match, not that good and completely missable. *"

[4.0] "Match of low terms, besides this is the Edge PPV debut, the match was just made with entertainment in mind, not a match that will be remembered, but fun. 4/10 [**3/4]"

[3.0] "Did not enjoy this. Edge was extremely random to have here. Sable is just bad. Mero was made to look like an idiot with getting almost all the bumps at the end (which most were Jacqueline attacking him accidentally). Jacqueline wasn't allowed to wrestle well so it was just so messy when the two wrestled. Really didn't enjoy this."

[6.0] "The Wrestlemania mixed tag was better, but the Meros were also on the same side then. Edge was an odd choice for Sable to choose as a partner, but it did help get him on the show, so that's a plus. Sable was overacting the entire time and Jacqueline was selling horribly. Better than the Oddities match, but it did have more highs than that one did."

[3.0] "A bad tag match between both teams with bad action and psychology between everyone, both women were the worst here, Edge was still green here and not even Marc could help carry him."

[3.0] "I enjoyed seeing a young Adam Copeland in this match. Jacqueline and Sable provide some eye-candy. Marc Mero is a serviceable worker here."

[5.0] "Mostly fine. Mero does a good job carrying Copeland through most of the match and Edge shows promise as a young upstart"

[6.0] "An interesting PPV debut for Edge here as Sable was definitely the focal point. Edge's dive over the top rope was awesome but the Huracanrana Sable hits is the spot of the contest in my opinion. 3 stars at best."

[4.0] "[**] In hindsight, it's strange that Edge's PPV debut is in a mixed tag team match where he's the least important aspect. He already looks great and is tailor-made for this era of WWF, but the match clearly wasn't about him. The match itself isn't as good or entertaining as the WrestleMania mixed tag team match with Sable and Mero. Edge spanking Jacqueline on the ramp is a difficult visual to support, especially from today's perspective. It's one of those many Attitude Era moments that has aged poorly, as it was the entire story behind this match. Not recommended, except for Edge's debut, purely for historical purposes."

[6.0] "Not as good as the surprisingly great Wrestlemania mixed tag Sable was involved in, but overall I thought the match served it's purpose well where it takes advantage of Sable's popularity with the fans where she lands the hurricanrana on Mero and Edge, who was a rookie at the time shines on his PPV debut and moves about like a cat where he lands an impressive Tope on Mero. Jackie got a few too many comedy spots in my opinion. Edge was an upgrade on one of the Oddities to say the least, especially looking at their match earlier in the show!"

[7.0] "Found this to be a rather enjoyable mixed tag team match. Edge's first ppv match of his career may have not really been about him, but it was still enjoyable. The crowd were super into Sable much like the mixed tag at WrestleMania XIV a few months prior, and there were some nice near falls and fluid wrestling thrown in the mix."

[3.0] "Another match on this show that you can't take seriously. Sable's first match against Luna and Goldust was great, because her time in the ring was minimal and she was an underdog, meanhwile here she's presented like a threat. On top of that Mero is reduced to a joke and Edge shows no charisma or personality at all. There are some good moves from Adam and Marc, but this is the kind of stuff that I hate about the attitude era."

[4.0] "This match is worth it mostly just to see Edges debut match for WWE, but besides that theres really not much to write home about here. Sable is of course the most over woman in American wrestling at this time and it shows here. Her offense is, well its passable at best. Jaquie more than holds her end up, and the exchanges between Edge and Mero are the only things that make this match watchable."

[5.0] "Sable brings in Edge as her mystery partner. Edge making his WWF ppv debut tonight. Edge and Mero do their stuff, and Jacky tags in, but Edge tags Sable and Jacky runs like hell. Pretty good match. Edge scores the downward spiral and slams Sable on Mero to pin him."

[8.0] "This is Edge's debut on PPV! Sable is, and there's no other way of saying it, over as fuck! Mero is a proven quality in the ring and it comes as no suprise that his match with Edge is very solid at the very least. Then Sable comes in to do a few moves and get the biggest reaction of the four. The good thing is that Jacqueline was always able to mix it up with the men, so it made for a less limited/formulaic mixed tag stipulation. On top of that, Sable busted some very nice moves on Mero in the end, making for a solid match, but a great spectacle."

[4.0] "I didn't really care for this match at all I think it was ok but not worth a watch unless you are watching the whole ppv. **"

[5.0] "Not quite Edge's first WWF match, but the first notable one. The match was no classic, but they did a good job of working around everybody's weaknesses, Edge got some impressive spots in, and the two women at least looked competent, and also had some good spots - not always the case in this era, sadly. Not great obviously, but the humour worked and it didn't overstay its welcome."

[5.0] "A decent contest but didn't quite match the mix tag Mero and Sable were in months prior. Sable was still hugely over at this point feuding with Jacqueline and Mero for the remainder of 98. The stand out in this match was Edge in his debut PPV match showing glimpses of what was to come in his career."

[6.0] "Good debut for Edge, and Sable was over enough to carry the momentum of the match, so it did exactly what it had to do."

[3.0] "The first Edge match on the PPV. And finally I finally understood who he was. He is a kind guy, and then he constantly sits with the audience and does nothing.. *1/2"

[4.0] "Not a great match, it's cool to see Edge, and Sable is pretty over, but it doesn't redeem the match itself."

[4.0] "It's not a very impressive match, but it's still solid booking. Brings Edge into a PPV relatively early in his career. There's a couple cool combo moves at the end of the match, and a clean win is still always a bonus in my eyes."

[5.0] "I think it was a good conclusion for Sable storry against Mero. Mero is selling as good as he can and Sable overness splash a little bit on Edge. Not a must watch, but ok."

[4.0] "This was fine for what it was, with Edge getting to do some stuff and then Sable showing some good fire. Not a classic, but it was what it needed to be"

[4.0] "Decent action that was done to put over Sable, which was the usual because she was by far the most popular woman in the company. The hurricanrana off the top by Sable drew the biggest ovation of the match. Fine match (**)"
