2 | 20.03.2025 | danzitorock | 8.0 | This match is fantastic, we had Joe on his farewell tour, against Morishima, the new japanese sensation, who was touring at Ring of Honor, and there's no better matchup on paper for him than Joe, they're both monsters, with a quite similar style, so this is naturally very interesting. I think that maybe Joe could've put Morishima over here, but I can totally understand his win, he was saying goodbye to the company where he's a legend, and Morishima just arrived, but if Morishima won, would've definitely be more symbolic, and even without the victory, he managed to show what he's about. Joe was the star of the match of course, basically all of the incredible stuff that happened was made by him, he worked stiff all the time, they were truly testing each other, and the nose strikes that he did, making Morishima bleed, were phenomenal, he controlled the match very well. The ending was very cool, Joe had Morishima on the choke, and the japanese managed to partially escape several times, showing that he's super strong, but ultimately he fell down and couldn't resist anymore, only carrying on the 'tough to beat' designation for his next chapters - {***3/4} |

8 | 12.10.2024 | Styles619 | 9.0 | This was an awesome hoss fight. Samoa Joe had been the resident athletic big man for years in ROH. How appropriate is it that as Joe is about to make his exit, Takeshi Morishima is brought in to be his replacement in that regard. This match was like two bulls just going at it. I'll admit that I was puzzled finding out that Joe beat Morishima going into the match, which is odd since Morishima beat Homicide for the ROH Championship a day later. By the time the match was over, I didn't care and neither did the fans because they gave both men a lot of respect and made this match more fun to watch. Like the ECW One Night Stand shows, you can always count on a rabid New York crowd to make things even better. ****1/2 |

16 | 12.01.2024 | Bren0 | 7.0 | [4.0*] The match was very exciting and brutal, Morishima and Samoa Joe did a great job here, Joe was brutal and his hard-hitting style combined very well with Morishima's hard-hitting style. Takeshi kicking out a Muscle Buster was an excellent moment in this match. The finishing of the match was very good. |

18 | 10.11.2023 | nextleveljaxon | 8.0 | This was an awesome debut match for Morishima in ROH. Joe was on his way out and the very next night Morishima would begin a crazy World Title run. The crowd was obviously hot for them both for different reasons but each guy beat the hell out of the other and that's all I could really ask for. The kick that busts Morishima open was absolutley gnarly and even in losing he looked like just as much as a beast as Joe if not more than one. Having him kickout of the Muscle Buster but get choked out was the only way to do this without him going over. Just a stiff fight between two big guys. Loved it! |

33 | 05.07.2022 | KingsCrossing | 9.0 | Highly underrated match. These two beat the hell out of each other. A lot of modern matches of this ilk tend to degenerate in to two guys standing there letting their opponent hit them. This match has none of that, and feels like a fight the whole way through with hard strikes and thunderous slams. Strong recommendation. |

37 | 12.11.2021 | cactus | 8.0 | Joe is on his ROH farewell tour and Morishima is making his debut for the company. My video starts with Joe trading words with Nigel McGuiness. Morishima rushes down to the ring when Joe is distracted and they jumpstart this one. The fans popped big for Morishima making his run to the ring. The few fans who weren't familiar with Morishima are soon won over by him. On top of him being an incredible brawler who can stand toe-to-toe with Joe, he's also deceivingly athletic. He does a friggin' cartwheel and pulls off a top rope missile dropkick with ease! As always, Joe's stuff looks incredible. So incredible that it causes Morishima's nose to get busted open hardway. Morishima kicks out of the Muscle Buster! The referee might have botched the count, but that was a huge rub for Morishima. Joe locks on his choke and it's not long until it's lights out for Morishima. This was a good debut for Morishima, but I felt that he should have won this one. |

46 | 10.04.2019 | Makai Club | 8.0 | Awesome match between the big hosses. Morishima was not far behind winning the ROH Title at this time, but before that, he was scheduled to face Joe, who is currently in the process of doing his farewell tour. The match delivered on a big level too w/ the two upping the violence and stiffed the hell out of each other. They hot each with some big moves and paced themselves pretty well. The finishing stretch was awesome. **** |

48 | 13.07.2018 | ZaiahxSteel | 8.0 | Now this is what I like to see! Two super heavyweights kicking the crap out of each other for everyones entertainment. That's what it's all about! These two wasted no time laying into one another and didn't let up for one second. The crowd helped this match immensely as they were hyped for everything these two were doing. These two knew they had to go big or go home and they went even bigger and badder then anyone could've guessed. A great fight! ****1/4 |

50 | 16.04.2018 | seriousbusiness | 9.0 | Quite the underrated match if I am being honest. This match is also one of Morishima's best matches in ROH against another physical monster in Samoa Joe. This was a very stiff brawl from start to finish with both guys just beating the hell out of each other back and forth. Morishima even had the audacity to kick out of the Muscle Buster signifying his major upcoming importance in ROH. They all fall to the Sleeper though, ****1/2. |
52 | 12.11.2016 | Jobbs | 8.0 | This overall was really good but not a great match IMO. The atmosphere here just didn't feel like something that would've been **** caliber for me but I did enjoy this nonetheless. Morishima was quite impressive here and Joe was fantastic as usual. Crowd was into this but something about it just wasn't there for me to truly call this a great match so (***1/2) will do. |
53 | 18.04.2016 | NastyYaffa | 9.0 | Two of the biggest & baddest dudes around beating the crap out of each other in a stiff fashion. Great match. **** |
54 | 12.04.2016 | TrevPuroFan | 9.0 | Great match. Incredibly stiff between 2 big guys. This was Morishima his ROH debut, and Joe was on his way out. And they both wanted to put on a impressive performance because of that. ****1/4 |

61 | 11.10.2013 | koeddylaemmle | 6.0 | Takeshi Morishima is one of those guys that I immediately began to wonder "what happened to that guy? " It sounds like not much besides aging at an alarmingly fast rate. This match was a let down considering the talents involved but was a decent enough match. |
