[7.0] "The interference was unnecessary and the finish underwhelming. Bryan's matches from this era of ROH were too long, his opponents could not match his technical expertise and the submission heavy opening tends to drag."

[9.0] "Can't think of a better match for this legendary Danielson title run to end. The false dq spot was tremendous and got the crowd even hotter for the eventual outcome of the finish to this match. This was homicides time and it worked out perfect. (****1/2)"

[9.0] "This was an awesome match. It started out technical, as many of Bryan Danielson's matches do. But then the run in took place and everyone thought that Homicide won by DQ. Keep in mind, if Homicide did not win the ROH title, he would leave ROH. Todd Sinclair decided this match wasn't going to end by DQ and restarted it, and then the match really kicked off as it felt like a fight. It got very dramatic when Danielson put both the Cross Face Chicken Wing and the Cattle Mutilation on Homicide, but Homicide wouldn't give up. A great moment was when Homicide hit the Cop Killer but Danielson was able to reach the ropes. When Homicide got the pin, the place exploded. Similar to ECW One Night Stand 2005, this would have been incredible to see live. This was the culmination of several months worth of storyline and Danielson purposefully put off surgery so he could put Homicide over. ****1/2"

That's the sign of a truly great match, total investment based solely on the story they tell in the ring, no bells or whistles needed (though ROH threw in a couple anyway, which was just fine). I actually cheered at the finish, an absolute classic."

[9.0] "INCREDIBLY well-executed match AND finish to a long-term storyline. Homicide's promise to leave ROH if he didn't win the ROH title was on the line against Danielson, who had been champion for over a year at this point and had retained against an INSANE list of matches in his reign, including against Jushin Thunder Liger, Lance Storm, Samoa Joe, Roderick Strong, Colt Cabana, KENTA, and Nigel McGuinness. Homicide does his best to work against the technical arsenal of Danielson, and both men bring out their biggest moves and shocking counters. The reason I'm not giving this a 10 was because I wasn't a fan of the first match stoppage due to the interference from Shane Hagadorn and Adam Pearce, only for it to get reversed right after. I'm not saying they COULDN'T have interfered, I just think it didn't need to have a whole DQ scare angle with it. But Homicide perseveres and ends up winning the title in an ASTONISHING emotional moment, on the VERY LAST NIGHT that he could've done so. Y'know what they say, better late than never!"

[9.0] "Thus ends this legendary Bryan Danielson ROH World Title run, and what a way to end it. This wasn't Danielson's best title defense, but it was certainly a very special match. Homicide looked great here and this was my favourite match of his that I've seen. Danielson's heel run really felt like it culminated here, with him snapping at one point in the match and refusing to let go of his hold (even past the dreaded five count). Both guys went all out here and Homicide definitely earned this big win."

[8.0] "I'm a touch let-down by this given its reputation, but there's still tons to love about this. Danielson puts in one of his best heel performances, his facials and mannerisms here are so god damn smackable. Although I warmed up to him as the match progressed, Homicide didn't exactly set the world on fire for me and it felt like he was coasting by on his natural charisma and likeability. He was rather sloppy and some of the early exchanges were rather rough. I started to come around on him when they got to the many false finishes. I particularly loved the one where he was passed out in Danielson's submission and how he grabbed the referee's leg to stop him from ringing the bell after not being able to respond to the referee's three-arm check. I dug the DQ finish fake-out, Todd Sinclair was the biggest babyface in New York on this night for letting the match resume! The actual finish came out of nowhere, but the reaction to Homicide's win was so emotional and joyful that I can give that bit of criticism a pass,"

[10.0] "Amazing match. The crowd was so hot for this, they desperately wanted Homicide to win, and in the end, they got what they wanted. What a moment, and the pop Homicide got when he pinned Danielson always gives me goosebumps. Great match w/ great storytelling. The greatest match & moment of Homicide's career. Also a great way to end the greatest ROH World Championship reign ever. ****1/2"

[9.0] "This was the ultimate blend of WWE showmanship and Danielson’s mat based and high impact style. He pulled out every trick he had but ROH refused to let Homicide get screwed again. The psychology got a little silly at the end but there was so much adrenaline in the match that it really didn’t matter. The babyface roster looks genuinely happy for Homicide as they come out to congratulate him. After the match there’s a great video of Homicide’s ROH career leading to this title win."

[9.0] "It was awesome. The crowd was totally pro Homicide and Danielson played the role of the heel great. This was definitely the best wrestling match of Homicide's career. The match was stopped about 10 minutes in after interference and referee Todd Sinclair probably got as over as he is ever going to get by restarting the match. Homicide wins this classic in the end. ****1/4"
