Jay Lethal was feuding with Cody at the time, and their interactions ended up being really heated and exciting. Jay Briscoe previously had a criminally underrated street fight with Hangman Page the year prior, so this match rekindles that rivalry. This was during the brief time period where Frankie Kazarian joined the Bullet Club as part of an angle and he fit in rather well."
