[4.0] "DiBiase's anger caused by Andre's lost perhaps helped this match to be somehow relevant to the audience, however it's still just other sign of averageness in this tournament."
[4.0] "After two matches that were horrendous, this feels a lot better, but of course It had it's issues, like how Dibiase didn't felt important because of his win passing to the finals, then some other issues, but in general I'll give it a 4/10 [**1/2]"
[3.0] "However, Muraco's first match tonight against Dino Bravo was somehow more interesting, because everything here reeks of Ted DiBiase as the winner from start to finish. And if you ignore the tension, then Muraco doesn't provide much more than a backdrop. And the Million Dollar Man isn't even close to his potential."
[4.0] "This should've felt more serious because the winner got by to the finals, but it didn't feel important at all. DiBiase got the win in an okay match but it just didn't feel all that special when it was one of the most important match of the whole show."
[4.0] "The winner gets the bye to the final so this should have been a lot hotter than it was, even if you can argue in kayfabe they were saving themselves. It was good but could have been better. Muraco having to work babyface didn't help, he was always a much better heel."
[3.0] "With Hogan and Andres double DQ, the winner of this match gets a bye to the final. DiBiase is on his lonesome because Andre and Virgil just got dealt with. DiBiase was complaining to the ref when Muraco got the jumpstart on him. Who the fuck is this referee? He looks like Uncle Fester with a hairpiece. I looked it up during this drearily dull match. Muraco wasnt exactly a fiery babyface, and DiBiases offense was dry as always. DiBiase won with a hotshot into the ropes, getting his hand raised by Jack Krueger. *1/2"
[5.0] "Muraco's last Wrestlemania and he does the job for Ted DiBiase. Billy Graham adds nothing to his presentation, but a decent short match on a crowded card."
[6.0] "This is always better than you expect, it all pretty much works. Ted DiBiase is deceptively large and comparing him to Don Muraco proves this. I don't really have complaints and this is one of the better matches of the night. Maybe it's a little safe and nothing special but that's better than terrible any day. 5.75"
[2.0] "Is just not relevant at all, it existed but it was just a match more on a tournament that never ends. Not even the crowd cared about this, is just a match more for this entire built to give Randy Savage some big momentum, but it only makes every single match before that, THAT much less interesting."
[3.0] "Im woth the crowd on this one, i could not give a flying flip about this wretling match. Dibiase and muraco gave it a go but this match had no heat and the winer was never in any kind of doubt. I also am not a fan of dibiase being so giving to muraco, i felt if he would have atleast cotrolde the match insted of being on the backfoot it would have been better considering that he is gona main event this show."
[5.0] "This was a basic short match, but it did its job. Muraco looked pretty good and gave a lot of effort in this match. DiBiase sold for him well. Liked the finish although it might not be the most devastating move it made sense with the time and what was going on. Result was obvious as Muraco was never going to advance to the final."
[4.0] "Muraco shows great athleticism, and DiBiase's bumping is as incredible as always, but this match was far too simplistic. Half of it was Muraco with the advantage, and a swap to DiBiase until the end. The finish was also pretty poor too. A hangman spot across the top rope seems anticlimactic considering what's on the line in this tournament. Not a bad match at all, but there's nothing remotely memorable about it either."
[3.0] "Nobody cares about this. DiBiase has to win because you can't have Don Muraco in the title match. Not even against Savage. Muraco gives it a fair go, as he did against Dino Bravo earlier. There's no shortage of effort but the booking of the tournament cuts their legs off. It's tough to get people invested."
[4.0] "27/3/88 Wrestlemania IV WWF. Another filler really, although nothing wrong with the match per say. Just a run of the mill match with a poor finish. Would of gotten an extra star if the finish was more creative. Usually hard to fault a Ted Dibiase match. 4*"
[5.0] "DiBiase was a good heel here and Muraco held his own in his new babyface role. Having Graham alongside him helped and Million Dollar Man is just so good at getting heat that you just can't not be cheered against him. Nothing special, a decent match to get Ted over in this tournament."
[4.0] "This was a decent little bout. I like both these guys. I don't think Muraco's pairing with Billy Graham was the best but at least it helped get him on the shows. Ted Dibiase was a great heel."
[4.0] "I preferred Hogan vs Andre, personally. This was effective enough at establishing DiBiase as the cowardly heel against Muraco's power, which played well in to the overall story of the tournament. Still, while there was nothing notably bad about it, I did find it a bit dull. Perhaps it just had the disadvantage of coming 2 hours in to the show and following a bigger match. The energy levels felt a bit low for this one."
[4.0] "More decent than the match it followed, but still not an entertaining one. Dibiase is a good heel, Muraco wasn't awful I guess and thank god this one had a proper finish"
[3.0] "The crowd remain silent throughout this. What little interest there I have is trying to work out just how much Muraco has to spend on steroids each week. Muraco is just a spot monkey who doesn't know how to work, the 80s are full of them"
[4.0] "DiBiase now had to come out alone due to the ending of his first-round against Duggan. Muraco put on a better showing than his previous match with Bravo, with him being more comfortable on offense than earlier. This was largely carried by DiBiase's selling, bumping, and heel work. He caught an oncoming Muraco with a stun gun to pick up the win. A solid enough quarter-final round bout. [**]"
[4.0] "Ted dibiase is weak in execution and don muraco is weak in psychology. For lack pf these, this short match became a weaker one on the card. (**)"
[4.0] "Decent second round match, with DiBiase playing the heel role perfectly as usual and Muraco feeling it too. I think it might've benefited from following Hogan vs. Andre, which had a poor finish and was also really bad. Decent match. [*3/4]"
[4.0] "After the events of the previous match, Dibiase has to go at this one on his own. He carries Muraco in this with his bumping and selling. Dibiase catches Muraco off-guard and lands a Stun Gun to advance cleanly to the finals. It's good to let your heels show that they can score some wins every now and then without having to bend the rules. Decent enough, but this struggles to be engaging by being so damn predictable."
[4.0] "A pretty forgettable match. DiBiase was a great heel as always, but there's really nothing to write home about here - just another tournament match that happens, is passable, and advances towards the correct conclusion."
[5.0] "This was fine for the time given, again there's only so much you can do in short matches like this. Muraco was past his best by this point and wasn't very interesting as a face, but could still have a decent match with the right opponent. DiBiase was the obvious choice to go over here."
[5.0] "A fine short match, does what it needs to in the short time it gets. I enjoy this 'Mania but it does suffer from some overly short matches due to the format. Still, DiBiase is great at this time and Muraco is still very good so you can't fault it too much."
