[2.0] "If the ending wasn't so bad, this match would have been a 1.75 but this was an actual clusterfuck. Roddy Piper has slowed down to this point only doing chops, punches and holds but he does pull out a Sunset Flip and Back Body Drop. We had too much interference from Arn Anderson, Asya and Charles Robinson to the point it was annoying. The ending with Bischoff reversing the decision even though he was taken OUT of POWER by Ric Flair at Starrcade '98 makes NO SENSE! [*1/4]"

If you enjoy Roddy Piper getting beaten up for no real reason while he stumbles around like he's been let out of the old folks' home, it's an 11/10. But you're a person with eyes, so you don't enjoy that. What really drops this lower than the GAB match is the silly booking. Eric Bischoff - who apparently has no power - reverses the referee's decision. And yet he doesn't come out any earlier to stop the Piper-murder. What were they smoking?"

[1.0] "Flair fires referee Johnny Boone replaces him with Charles Robinson. Stalling from Flair to start. Piper shadow boxes, eye pokes and ear claps but Flair hits a low blow to take control. Arn beats on him and Flair holds Piper while Arn distracts the ref so Asia can kick him low. They fight outside the ring. Figure four, reversed by Piper. Flair shows his ass on a sunset flip attempt. Robinson converses with AA while Piper gets a couple of pin attempts. Piper gets the figure four, and AA breaks it up. Piper puts the sleeper on him, then on Flair. Asia breaks it up. Piper kisses her, and puts the sleeper on her. Flair gets a knuckle weapon and pops Piper and pins him. Eric Bischoff shows up and reverses the decision to give Piper the presidency. Which makes no goddamn sense AT ALL since Bischoff is supposed to have no pull backstage anymore! This was like watching a sad indy show between two guys who haven't been relevant in 23 years!"

[2.0] "Piper had no business anywhere near a wrestling ring by this point, and the match was full of referee nonsense and interference. That all has no power as it's happened on just about every match on the card, so most of the story stuff fell flat. Also, Piper has what might just be the worst worked punches I've ever seen, with the possible exception of Shane McMahon. It wasn't the worst thing on the card, as Flair, Arn Anderson and Charles Robinson work hard to make it as good as possible, but it's still poor."
