[0.0] "A poorly executed match with an even worse finish. It was anti-climactic and uninspired. Frankly the whole ordeal was a piece of shit. It was a nicely built feud pitting two guys who never had a proper main roster match despite coming up together. As an aside, Brock never faced Batista either. Anyway, if this wasn't the main event of the second biggest show of the year I might've been more lenient. The match would still suck as is but it wouldn't be a complete waste. This is what they go off the air with."
[5.0] "Damn. I know it was just a work and we can't fall easily on that like such idiots, but it didn't look like they had the awnser they expected for. We had a basic and expected first 10 munutes match from Brock Lesnar and I really though it was good, Brock Lesnar sold the Spike DDT like he was dead, it was good. However, Brock started making Orton bleeding and them the match ended. Super anticlimax, super non expected, really bad. The goal was to gave Lesnar a uncontrolled beast vibes that can really kill his opponent, but the storyline didn't showed that and even the match not showed this until that point come. Bad booked, bad executed."
[8.0] "Lesnar is a menace. Orton has great babyface instincts, clobbering Brock on the back while being shoulder tackled in the corner. But Lesnar just doesn't relent. Brock is aware of his role as a heel, and takes his time between suplexes in order to not get the crowd in his favour. But at the mere sight of and Orton comeback attempt, he cuts him off with authority (I've never seen such vicious knees to the gut as those of Lesnar). Orton does a great job selling. He very early realises that his only bullet to win is an RKO, but when Lesnar blocks it he changes his strategy. He plays possum and gets an RKO on the announce table. The drapping DDT that follows may be the one Randy has executed with the most amount of urgency and less showboating of his entire career. Great selling from Lesnar after both of the, he really seems like he's not fully there anymore. The final stretch felt vey logical and organic. Not being able to put down Lesnar with the cutter, he goes for the pun kick, but Lesnar catches him for the F-5. The fact that Brock was so dominating and somehow Randy felt inches away from putting him down is a testament to the match structure. Orton kicks out of the F-5, and the actual finish (the elbow cut in the head spot that opened the glorious Lesnar Vs Cena match at Extreme Rules in 2012) locks brutal."
[6.0] "a lot more fun and had more to it then what i remembered. I like the trade of finishers towards the end of the match i just don't know how i feel about lesnar destroying orton for the first 5 minutes or so. Also dont see how orton getting his skull bashed in helps him or anyone else. Interesting match. 3 stars"
[6.0] "A tough one to rate. The match succeeded in what it wanted to do, making Lesnar look like an even more brutal monster than before. The blood was pretty damned shocking! I don't think this should've main evented, though. Clearly, Cena and Styles would've been the better finish to SummerSlam. I don't think people would have such a problem with this match if it was in the middle of the card instead. That being said, this match was what it was."
[3.0] "Not really much of a match, just Lesnar beating the hell out of Orton for 10 minutes. I'm not sure why this needed to be in the main event, but I'm definitely docking this match some points for not living up to its place on the card. I will say this match had a fun build, and I guess it makes sense to have Lesnar look so dominant, but I would just call that booking yourself into a corner. If they couldn't think of an angle to make this match better, then just don't book it, and definitely don't have it headline your second biggest show of the year."
[2.0] "Honestly Orton and Lesnar just don't mesh very well together. Like Orton sells some of his offence well but the way he takes Brock's suplexes looks kinda weird. For the most part with Lesnar is destroying Orton the crowd really really doesn't care either, its insane that this was the main event of Summerslam and it was this quiet. Orton's comebacks pop the crowd and then they pull an ending that could have been really cool in a different context but is just really weird when its done in the match."
[5.0] "It's a decent enough match between both legends, but there wasn't anything too exciting and the finish with Brock busting Randy's head open wasn't good at all."
[6.0] "This match is a pretty fun one in my opinion. Although it's almost entirely dominated by Brock Lesnar, Orton does get a few things in, notably an RKO on the announce table. The finish, I can see what they're going for and it certainly was effective, but it was a deflating end to SummerSlam, and probably shouldn't have main evented."
[3.0] "I get they were trying to make Brock look like a killer and some kind of shoot fighter, but this match didnt deserve a wet blanket finish like this. If they booked it different, and/or Brock cared much, this couldve been great. Randy can have a good match with anybody and Brock is Brock. Dont main event a PPV like this unless Goldberg was gonna show up and kick Brocks ass to send the fans home happy."
[8.0] "I've always been a huge fan of Brock's style so watching him annihilate a wrestler I don't particularly like in Orton for the better part of 12 minutes was awesome and the finish with those nasty elbows was just the icing on the cake. Such a brutal, bloody finish for a major PPV in the PG era makes it even more fascinating, the crowd was legit stunned."
[6.0] "The biggest problem is not the finish, it's the time given. The work they do here with what short time they have is incredibly fun and expected from both legends, but it definitely feels like they're speeding through to the big spots, Both men are at their best here, so it's strange to see so little time allotted. Given 20 - 25 minutes, keeping the same amazing brutal finish would have made this a summerslam classic"
[6.0] "This was alright. What I think they were trying to go for was recreating the Summerslam 2014 match with Cena, but it didnt really feel like that except for when Lesnar was pummeling a bleeding Orton."
[8.0] "I love this Match. It's Quick & Brutal. Sure not a back & forth Wrestling Match but it played with Brocks Beast character & Randy's Resilience but overall finished with Brock being the Monster Heel he is & just straight out destroying him with those Elbows"
[4.0] "It was a basic Lesnar match with almost only special moves and finishers with Orton getting knocked out. A match that stole the place of Main Event of this SummerSlam from the excellent Cena - Styles or even Rollins - Balor."
[5.0] "To get around WWE's no-blading policy, Brock and Randy decide to get color by having BROCK CAVE OPEN RANDY'S SKULL WITH SHOOT ELBOWS. Wrestling is batshit crazy, isn't it? As memorable of a visual Orton's head gushing out blood like a tap is, the actual match is a pretty vanilla affair with Brock yet again phoning it in. Not a whole lot happens in the first half, with the exception of Orton taking a few announce table bumps. If you need convincing that the RKO is one of the most over moves in wrestling history, watch how quickly the fans came unglued when Orton is able to sneak in a flash RKO just as Brock is about to put him through the second announce table. Orton mounts a comeback, but Lesnar intercepts a punt kick attempt with an F5. Orton kicks out and this pisses Lesnar off. Lesnar removes his gloves and starts raining down strikes onto Orton. After Orton gets cut open, the ringside crew looks after him for quite some time and eventually calls the match off after Brock keeps beating on a downed Orton. This annoyed the fans and the finish came off as a wet fart."
[6.0] "This probably came off as a disappointment to most people, but it was a super hot match from start to finish. Brock worked this type of match better than anyone, and Orton held his own as well. The finish was unfortunately lame and created some heat backstage, particularly with Chris Jericho who got into an altercation with Brock. Otherwise, this was a solid, albeit unspectacular main event. [***]"
[2.0] "Quite bad, the match seems as lazy as most modern Brock matches, and it depends heavily on a dopey finish that was attempting to look like a shoot but for no real purpose or positive effect."
[7.0] "Not a fantastic match but the finish is just.... lovely. Orton teases around the Beast and tries to get into his methodical style, but Lesnar just powers out and dominates for the most part. Randy tries to turn up the pace with good spots and a strong comeback, even teasing the Punt, but Lesnar just wasn't having any of it. Randy couldn't keep Brock down long enough for him to really get any big offence in. Builds up a lot of tension until Randy kicks out of a F5, and gets pounded with stiff elbows for his trouble. The ending was great: once again Brock shocks the audience with his antics, this time just having none of the usual formula and goes right ahead to his MMA roots. Not only did it work the crowd whom many were confused and shellshocked from it, but also it seems even some guys on here believe it was legit: that's the making of a real well acted angle. Randy gets a ton of sympathy as the victim of Brock and sells fantastically for the attack. This gave Brock not only a ton of heat but also showcased a new way of Brock to win a match, and would make Reigns look also tough as hell when he withstood a similar attack later on in their Mania match. People giving this a 0. 0 because they got worked like Jericho or they don't get the storytelling is just poor form."
[0.0] "People should learn to not just not get hyped on a Brock Lesnar match, always has trash matches and this was worse than usual, he decides to not even try to have a match and just weirdly hit Orton over and over"
[7.0] "This was built perfectly. Orton gets cocky early and Lesnar starts dominating as he is used to, then Orton gets some comeback offence out of nowhere only for Lesnar to ground him again and hitting a huge f5. Orton kicks out and Lesnar shows his frustration by splitting his head open with stiff, borderline shoot elbows getting the tko win and some great heat from fans. Very solid angle"
[6.0] "This was well-paced and building really well for the most part, but the ground-and-pound by Lesnar at the end grinds all that to a halt and makes for a really uncomfortable finish. Really could have been special. (***)"
[6.0] "Brutal mess, you can't say otherwise. Very shocking elbow bumps from Lesnar, I still believe it was not keifeb. Nevertheless, it gave super drama to what was happening in the ring."
[6.0] "This was okay, very scary moment watching Randy Orton get busted open hard way with an elbow by Brock Lesnar. Watching that live was scary. Other than the ending, this match isn't all that interesting or memorable"
[6.0] "This was pretty decent up until the ending. There were some nice bumps on the announce table and a cool punt tease reversed into an F5. The finish is ridiculous considering this is Summerslam and there were no subsequent matches in the program, but made up for a bit by one of the more grisly moments of the PG era."
