Alicia Fox & Mickie James vs. Lita & Trish Stratus

[7.0] "Alicia Fox manages to not be the odd one out in this opening match of Evolution, competing with a who's who of womens' wrestling in the 21st century. The rest of the ladies have a, predictably, good day at the office. Good pace with sequences hitting the mark and some solid highflying action as the icing on the cake."

[4.0] "The action was a bit disconnected, while the offense seemed to be lacking in aggression, weak, and sloppy at points. None of those are crippling problems, but it certainly settled this match in the "meh" category."

[5.0] "Fine enough opener. The crowd was into it and Lita and Trish's signature moves got huge pops. [**1/2]"

[5.0] "It's a fine enough tag match for what it was and it's a nice enough way to have few legends of the old women's division on the show."

[7.0] "As much as this could have been a fun match between Lita & Trish vs. Bayley & Sasha. We have Alicia Fox & Mickie James take their turn against the legends. It was sad to hear Alexa couldn't be in the match which she really wanted but with the new change we got a good fun match between the four that I enjoyed.."

[7.0] "A fun match and a great choice to open. Even though this didn't occur as scheduled, with Alicia Fox replacing Alexa Bliss, these four women all delivered and the crowd was molten hot to see Lita and Trish again. It was great to see Lita and Trish wrestle with time that they were rarely afforded during their peaks, and as such craft a great story and true wrestling match. The callbacks for both women with Mickie James was fun to see, and Trish notably has not lost a single step. Even now, in 2022, I have no doubt that she would excel amongst the current roster of women. Lita, for her part, who had not been in the ring for a significant amount of time by this point, did really well. Despite some sloppiness from Foxy, this whole match came together really well. As usual with Lita matches, her moonsault was one of the absolute highlights. Even though the participants in this match didn't quite represent a genuine "changing of the guard", it was touching, as much as it was deserving, to see Lita and Trish get their flowers."

[6.0] "A very solid match in my opinion, nothing amazing as not everyone involved is exactly at their best but they still do relatively well, and there's a nice historic feeling."

[5.0] "Fun but it bugs me even to this day that they didn't just do Lita and Trish vs Bayley and Sasha. That would have been better and much more of a draw."

[6.0] "I liked this match, because it just felt like four veterans having a decent house-show style tag match with good pops for the veterans. Trish and Lita both looked good and it was a very fun tag match. Great opener to get that crowd hot for the show."

[4.0] "Happy to see Lita in a ring again, however this match wasn't that good. I think Trish looked the best in this match. Other than seeing Trish Stratus and Lita in the ring again, this match is pretty miss-able"
