Bray Wyatt vs. Kane

[2.0] "The match sucked and the concept of the match was the main reason for it. It was like an inferno match although I didn't think those were good either. I think my one-star may be generous because it may have been worse than that, but I'll keep the rating for now."

[3.0] "Cartoonishly goofy in the worst way. A terrible debut for a great character. At least Bray won the match I suppose."

[2.0] "Terrible match, luckily the Wyatt Family will do much better work down the line but this just was not it. The stip is goofy and doesn't make the match interesting at all. It also makes Rowan & Harper look stupid because why would they not just throw the weapons over the top rope? In the end it's just the three kicking Kane's ass which is just whatever but the actual match portion just sucks."

[2.0] "This is not very good. At first its cool but it gets old quick, especially with the predictable fire getting big thing and the stupid way that the Wyatts are able to get past the fire. Kane is old and sucks, Wyatt is eh and he can't carry Kane like this. Whatever"

[3.0] "This is more of an angle than a match, serving as a character piece to get more familiar with Bray Wyatt, as that iteration made his in-ring debut; however, overall, I did not find this to deliver on the promise of its presentation, nor was it a flattering introduction piece of business, although the post-match abduction of Kane did leave us with a lot of intrigue, but unfortunately, that never led anywhere on TV. As for the action itself, it was completely fine and basic stuff. The issue here is that it made Bray come across like any other heel rather than making him come across as distinct from others through his in-ring work; only his presentation was successful in that regard. Bray tried to incorporate the stipulation twice to create drama; however, overall, the gimmick was there for theatrical effects. For this to be Wyatt's in-ring debut, he was portrayed as the weaker one, and when Rowan and Harper first attempted to interfere, they came across as comically stooge-esque *3/4"

[4.0] "Usually stipulations like this in wwe don't work 95% of the time and it didn't work in this case necessarily but if it didn't have the stipulation it would've been wayyy more boring to watch. But that doesn't at all speak to the strength of the stipulation but rather the weakness of wyatt and kanes chemistry, because seriously, i get they're both scary supernatural guys, but god they do not click. This was not very good but the part of the match where harper and rowan are scared of the fire and try to put it out is pretty hilarious. **1/4"

[4.0] "Considering how poorly Bray's debut was booked, I'm amazed he got off the ground at all. This is his first match as Bray Wyatt, and Kane absolutely dominates him. Kane takes at least 75% of this match or more and Wyatt only wins because of the family. So what does that say about your new cult leader? He's absolutely nothing without his cronies. But it's sadly fitting that Wyatt had such a crap debut because he'd go on to be buried over and over again when he just finished climbing back to the top time and time again. It shows how brilliant and talented he was that he was buried 3-5 separate times in his career but every time he was able to reinvent himself back into relevance and get back again. A middling and slow match that pretty much had the exact opposite effect as what you feel must have been the intent."

[8.0] "This was a very fun match that was more focused on getting Wyatt over then being a 10/10 technical classic. In that area it succeeded. For a first match, it wasn't too bad of an introduction. This isn't a technical classic but it leaves a stunning first impression of Wyatt and the Wyatt Family."

"A fun gimmick, but implemented poorly. Match was kind of slow - not a great showing. Bray deserved to get in a better showing at least before the antics from the Family kicked in."

[3.0] "I like Kane. I love Bray. This was neither mans finest hour. With a stupid stipulation tacked on for dramatic effect that got made completely redundant made for a not great match as much as I hate to say it. I wish this match was so much better but sadly it was not. It gave me the same vibe as when they put two people in a steel cage to stop the heels possie from interfering and they just attack from the outside or just clime in over, felt like that."

[2.0] "A match that doesnt let Bray do anything on his own, get battered around by Kane and then beaten by breaking the very rules of the stipulation. Harper and Rowan looked like geeks, as did Bray, and this was a horrid sign of things to come with WWE botching Brays creativity"

[3.0] "This was a very bad way for Bray Wyatt to make his main roster debut and this wouldn't be last time the company would make absolutely garbage out of Bray's creativity."

[3.0] "for a debut match, WWE really didnt let Bray do anything by himself. It is sad because if the in ring wrestling was better and the match had more close calls, it would have maybe been serviceable. The whole time the crowd just wanted the Undertake and i dont blame them because he was the only thing that could have saved this match."

[4.0] "This was not a good match and the actions of Kane didnt make much sense. He hit multiple chokeslams but never attempted a pin on Bray. The flames shooting up every time one of them hit the mat was a cool visual however.."

[2.0] "Yeah this match just didn't do it for me wasn't a big fan of the entire gimmick of the match but i suppose it was wyatt's but it didn't do anything easily the worst match of the card although if anything good came from the match i suppose it was harper and rowan"

[2.0] "Bray Wyatt needed his henchmen to win his PPV debut. The wrestling in the ring sucks, I like the gimmick but no one was on fire here. Harper and Rowan threw a tarp to nullify the fire and beat up Kane. The fans wanted Undertaker. The post-match was cool."

[2.0] "Very bad match. Harper and Rowan's goofy antics on the outside were the only semi-enjoyable part of this stinker, and even those antics undermined the supposedly terrifying presence that WWE was trying to sell the Wyatt Family as at the time of this show. The wrestling in this match was technically okay but very lethargic, and the inferno gimmick looked extremely unimpressive. Harper and Rowan nullifying the flames by placing a tarp over them only further sold how not terrifying the flames were. Avoid this match. *1/4"

[5.0] "Not very good, but I'll be slightly generous with my rating since it was at least interesting for novelty value. I liked the idea of the fire being there to keep the Wyatt Family out and got some entertainment out of their antics at ringside even if they were pretty silly (throw the kendo stick over the ropes, Luke! ). The actual wrestling was very basic, but that is always the case with this sort of stipulation, and they at least kept this fairly short. Far from a great match, but fine for what it was."

[4.0] "Quite the boring match. On the surface youd expect a stellar matchup between two untouchable monsters to go absolutely crazy in a Ring of Fire match, but it was quite dull with most of the entertainment coming from Rowan and Brodie. Disappointing."

[2.0] "Dumb match. Wyatt was presented very poorly and booking Kane in this fight is stupid too. He didn't even try to pin up after Choceslams. And the potential of the stipulation was also not used."

[4.0] "The match itself is nothing special but the flames rising whenever a big bump happens in the ring is a pretty cool visual. Considering this is Wyatt's in-ring debut on the main roster he looks fairly weak; Kane pretty much destroys him until Harper/Rowan interfere. Said interference cheapens the stipulation and doesn't really do anyone any favours. Not awful stuff here, just mediocre."

[3.0] "Bray Wyatt PPV matches #1 I've never liked inferno matches beyond the visual aspects mainly because it forces guys that aren't exactly the best in-ring technicians to stay inside the ring the entire time, and in the case of this match it leads to a pretty boring power match, and the ending was also too overbooked for my liking (why not just extinguish the flames immediately if you're allowed to do it')"

[5.0] "Messy and botchy at times, but the spectacle of the fire at least gave us some cool moments throughout."

[1.0] "Bray Wyatt is being treated like a chump despite having a great gimmick and in-ring psychology number #001"

[6.0] "A really entertaining spectacle match. They did a great job with the lighting and effects and it looked the part."

[6.0] "Not a great match, but still a fun one to watch. This was Bray Wyatt's arrival as a major player and it fit the character perfectly to go after Kane in this type of environment. We can all lament the missed opportunities that played out in the years that followed, but this match was uncomfortably fun. 3 stars, 6/10."

[4.0] "There was nothing special about the match, but the very atmosphere and surroundings of the match were mesmerizing. After each of Kane's actions on Bray Wyatt, the fire blazed more and more like hell, from where Kane himself came. The concept of this type of match was new and I liked it."
