[7.0] "Though a distance short of what it once was, this is a neat piece of history that's armed with undeniable charm. Over three years removed from their 1993 cameo, Ricky and Robert return to WCW, making their Nitro debut and admittedly, feeling far older than their 39 and 37 years. Thankfully, they are greeted by the perfect opponents to take the promotion back in time, playing familiar tunes and producing some beautiful bursts along the way. Granted, those are accompanied by some misfires, and the heat isn't really there either, particularly with so much time at their disposal. The hits still sound pretty good though, even if the people aren't as happy to hear them. ***1/4"
[9.0] "Really good nostalgic tag team match built around Flair and Anderson looking to make an example of a legendary tag team for their match against Mongo and Greene, but the Rock N' Roll Express rolled back the years and we ended up with a classic back and forth match and they got all their stuff in including one spot where they lock both of the Horseman in a figure four leg lock and AA ends up breaking it with an eye poke. It also meant Flair and Anderson also had to go back to their dirty tricks and had to win by a ref distraction and an eye poke from Nancy before Arn nails the DDT. RnR really looked good here even in defeat with Flair again bumping like a madman for them. I like the storyline with Heenan's involvement as well."
[4.0] "Nothing worth going out of your way to see here. This match is to promote an angle with some football players and setting up Bobby Heenan's return to managing. The Rock N' Roll Express looked old and a little tired running through all their standard spots. The finish was based on Woman gouging Gibson's eyes and it was weird to me that this was all it took to get the Express pinned."
[7.0] "Everything after Heenan made his way to the ring felt surprisingly inconsequential which is probably why there was no heat for the finish, but meat of the match was really good - just four great pro-wrestlers going to work."
[10.0] "Absolutely amazing tag team match and how it doesn't have an 8 or a 9 is criminal. This was an absolute great match and the Rock N Roll Express for sure remind me of FTR or does FTR remind me of them? Anyway, great tag team chemistry in what some people would call a dream match. Absolutely amazing in ring work and tag team chemistry especially from The Rock N Roll and surprisingly from Arn and Flair. Awesome TV match and definitely shows that WCW at this time was a far superior in ring product. Commentary was also really great. Probably the best tag team TV match I've ever seen and I've seen a lot. For sure gonna be hard to top this one. The only negative is the finish which felt as though it was botched. Other than that, great match. Definitely a hidden gem."
[8.0] "The Rock N Roll Express makes their return to WCW in 1996, which is odd to me, but it happened. This match is like something out of the archives of the old TBS days, but in the 90s. This was a warmup for Flair for Mongo and Kevin Greene at Great American Bash, according to him. The Express don't even get entrance music and almost seem out of their time. They refused to evolve past their '80s haircuts and wrestling gear, but they could still go in the ring and this match was evidence of that as I enjoyed it immensely. Ric Flair getting shoved down by the referee never failed to make me laugh. This was a great old school match and a bit nostalgic with Tony Schiavone on commentary. And damn, Woman (Nancy Benoit) was fire here. I know they went 20 minutes, but I wish they could have kept going."
[6.0] "Of course, the fight was a bit long and the pace was not always stable, but there was something to see in it. All performers showed themselves in one way or another, even the referee"
[8.0] "Really good tag match here that could have flown right out of the NWA, looking at the names involved. I don't know if I ever fully bought into RnR but they do what they do best here, and Arn and Flair are of course a pleasure to watch."
