[4.0] "This was an interesting main event that got overbooked into complete stupidity. The opening stretch was dull, the random DQ felt unnecessary, and while the restart made things a little more entertaining, the finish was genuinely fucking comical. This was a No DQ match, yet Sami hid behind the referee so Trick couldn't hit him with the title, then positioned himself so the referee wouldn't see the low blow. Why? He could have kicked Trick directly in the balls in the middle of the ring, waved at the referee and smiled like an idiot because IT WAS A NO DQ MATCH. The whole thing felt like an attack on the viewer's intelligence."
[7.0] "For me it got good from the restart. Trick looked good throughout the match and I like him using the Book end as a believable finisher. The first bit was kinda weird. Also, Charles Robinson has no chills these days."
[3.0] "A really bad match. It's the main event, a WWE title match, and they give you this match... The "first match" was slow, boring, and short. Then it becomes a No Disqualification match, but it's still a bad and boring match. WWE can deliver much better than this because they've already proven it with Rey Fenix, Penta, and Chad Gable."
[4.0] "This was ultimately disappointing, hindered by some weird production and booking.Trick looked to have things won in the regular match with the Book End, only for Johnny to drag poor Charles Robinson out of the ring. Match got restarted as no-dq, fine so far. Trick got a great nearfall by using the Trick Stick, which I liked because the weapon being in the ring was Lil Yachty's parting shot before leaving ringside, but the decision to go to an ad break immediately after that nearfall (the aforementioned production decision) was atrocious and killed a lot of momentum. Then the finish. Trick had been low blowed, sure, but I fail to see how that would stop anyone getting their hands up to stop somebody swinging a metal championship title at your head. There was the booking error. The only good thing this achieved was the optic of having Trick in there with the US Champion, and I guess maybe giving reason to any future challenge by Damien Priest, since he mentioned earlier in the show how he'd never had a shot at the WWE Title."
[4.0] "That's just a stupid match, nothing much to say about it. Few good spots and I'm happy that Zayn has something to do whilst waiting for Crown Jewel, but why make the US champion fight the WWE Champion ?"
[7.0] "I enjoyed this a lot more than others did seemingly. Trick is not as bad as others accuse him of being. Making it no disqualifiation definitely upgraded the match. One thing that I read which I do agree with a lot though is that they should not be making Sami have to cheat every single time he defends the wwe championship. Like come on, he can't cleanly win against the US champion? Still a fun match and I am very glad that Sami is having multiple succesful title reigns. I am hoping that he also starts defending succesfully on PLEs."
[7.0] "Opening half of the match wasn't great; kind of slow and boring, but after all the shenanigans and everyone getting banned from ringside, this ended up becoming very entertaining, at least in my opinion."
[5.0] "This match was going really poorly to start with until Gargano resulted in Zayn being disqualified which lead to Aldis restarting the match as a no disqualifications one, where the match drastically improved with some decent offense. I would've liked a shock title change but Zayn retaining was to be expected. 5"
[2.0] "This started off as just a regular match that was bland. Sami and Trick don't work well together. Not much happened then Gargano pulls the ref during a pin and the match ends in a DQ. How lame. It's restarted and made no DQ. This was better because it meant Trick didn't have to actually wrestle and could rely on the stipulation. They have one of those walking crowd brawls then go back to the ring to trade kendo stick hits. The only real highlight of the match was Sami hitting a Blue Thunder Bomb onto a pile of chairs, which would have been a cool finish but it wasn't. The actual finish was Sami using the ref as cover to land a low blow and follows it up with a belt shot for the win. This was bad and not up to the level of a WWE Championship match. 2/10"
[3.0] "Match so bad that they did it twice. Badly worked, badly booked. I'm just fed up of hearing people tell me that Trick is the next big thing. His ring work is simply not up to standard. Any time that he gets some time at the top of the card it looks and feels like this. If Sami Zayn can't pull a decent showing out of you, it's time to move down the card, because this was poor. My personal highlight was slipping in an ad break, mid match with less than 9 minutes in the clock. Cracking show structure there chaps."
[3.0] "Very upset by this; I wanted a clean match, so Trick Williams could show what he's capable of in the Undisputed WWE Title Match. But it's the SmackDown creative; they love ruining everything. I was very disinterested, and this was one of the poor matches of an amazing 2026 for Sami Zayn. For Trick Williams, I still think he'll be a World Champion, but I didn't get a true assessment in the moment because he wasn't given a proper match, which sucks; then on top of that, they made it a No DQ Match, which didn't help either."
[2.0] "[1.0*] Man, this was so bad. The first portion of the match before the shitty DQ finish was an absolute DUD. The plot twist wasn't even good, it felt like they just wanted to do a bit for the sake of it. Didn't add any drama or stakes. Then the No DQ part began and although it was better, it had absolutely zero brutality or hatred between the two participants. It was a Kids match. Bayley and Lyra had the same stip and worked a match miles better. This pairing is bad and this match was really bad besides some nearfalls."
[5.0] "Little suspense, not much good wrestling, and booking that lacked coherence. Entertaining, but a bit ridiculous. In-ring quality: 0.75/5. Stakes: 2/2. Justification: 0.75/1. Placement on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 0.25/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 4.75/10. Match watched on Netflix (FR)."
"This Undisputed WWE Championship main event between Sami Zayn and Trick Williams was a decent, physical TV defense that delivered solid drama, even if the structural booking was overly convoluted. The match suffered early on from a bizarre restart sequence--ending in an initial DQ when Johnny Gargano pulled the referee out, only for Nick Aldis to clear ringside and immediately restart it as a No Disqualification match. Once the weapons came into play, the intensity picked up nicely. The Blue Thunder Bomb onto a stack of steel chairs, combined with a conviction-filled Trick Shot near-fall, genuinely had the crowd biting on a potential title change. Zayn once again showed why he is a master of playing the resilient champion, dragging a competitive performance out of Williams. The finish, however, was a bit perplexing logically. With no disqualifications active, Zayn pulling the referee in front of him as a human shield just to deliver a low blow felt redundant, though using the belt shot right after fits his narrative of doing whatever it takes to survive. An entertaining, chaotic TV main event that accomplished its main goal of locking in Zayn vs. Roman Reigns for Crown Jewel, even if the overbooking hurt the match flow. Rating: 6/10"
[3.0] "Perfect end to a terrible show. I guess Trick Williams really is all show and no go. His matches on the main roster all pretty much suck or at minimum are pedestrian."
[6.0] "it was okay. Sami's run deserves better than this limpish booking. He is allowed to win cleanly he's a very accomplished & respected wrestler can we treat him as such while he is the WWE Champion. Hopefully the Roman match is better which I think it should be. Trick lost to Baron he doesn't need to be protected he can lose cleanly."
[4.0] "If you need another reason why I don't quite get the hype surrounding Trick Williams, this match provides it. Sami Zayn tries everything he can to keep the match on a watchable track, but his opponent doesn't make it easy for him. After the restart, Sami at least proves to be smarter than Williams and shows that a low blow can often lead to success. But despite the champion's talent, this isn't a match I think is worth remembering."
[4.0] "Not too much to say other than Sami tried his best to pull a passable match from Trick here. Finish was the usual BS main event finish they always do"
[4.0] "The main event is strange. The first Trick/Zayn match - it's hard to say whether it's good or not. Trick was good in the first match. The DQ is daft. The fact that the match was restarted is fine, but the fact that it was restarted as a no-DQ match whilst Yachty, Gargano and Lerae were banned from the ring area makes no sense. They could easily have intervened. The second Trick/Sami match: the kendo strikes and the Blue Thunder Bomb onto the chairs were cool. The finish was odd. Why did Zayn distract the referee to land a low blow on Trick when he's allowed to do that anyway? The fact that this match was split in two by the DQ broke the flow of the contest."
