03.03.2026 | sensei | 9.0 | This was great. Simple, minimalistic structure, technical work, character work and storytelling touches. No dozens of nearfalls, spots or finishers, just the story of two men trying to outdo each other. ****
25.02.2026 | SebasDiaz | 7.0 | Match of the Night, the level of Shawn was a no brainier and Steve Austin here was on his sauce, here Stone Cold Steve Austin, the tale of they both as champions and then the reign that wasn't clear, great match in general. 7/10 [****1/4]
17.02.2026 | TrailsOfPersona | 6.0 | I could never get into this match was much as a lot of others do. The crowd is SUPER hot, and the pace is frenetic from bell to bell, but there just isn't enough meat for me. So much of the match is bursts of speed, followed by someone being dumped outside, and then rest holds. There can't be many matches where two people go from dumping each other outside and rolling the other in as much as this one. They are constantly going in and out and not doing very much in either place. The Double DQ doesn't help the issue, but at least it makes sense, because neither guy needed to lose this one. Still a great match, and I can totally see how the pace and crowd reaction could elevate it higher for others, but it really just never got going for me.

The story was also very interesting and unique, they both are feuding with The Hart Foundation but they dont trust each other. The match was very nice a fast paced match with great action and even though there wasn't a winner i feel like the ending protected both wrestlers. |

08.08.2024 | thesilverman | 5.0 | Both of these wrestlers are obviously legends, but to end this in a double DQ feels like a letdown. A decent, if a bit slow match, followed by a somewhat anticlimactic finish is what brings this down for me. Rather than embracing a great feud, this leaves a sour taste in one's mouth.

02.08.2024 | SalvatoreVitale | 8.0 | Maybe the most beautiful display of pure technical wrestling in Stone Cold's WWF career up to this point, even more than his matches with Bret Hart around the same time. The tag team stint Austin and Michaels had at this point was really fun and engaging, and this match showcases their incredible chemistry. Unfortunately, WWF seemed to rely heavily on DQ or No Contest finishes during this era, even on PPV, and this match suffers from that. The ending inevitably takes some points away from whats otherwise a beautiful technical clinic that deserves a watch from any wrestling fan.

13.04.2024 | Heartbreakkid2003 | 8.0 | Austin and Shawns best match by far. Story going in is that they are a difunctional tag match trying to prove to each other who is superior in ring and I thought they did a great job telling that story in the match. A great technical wrestling match although a bit too much rest holds for my liking but the in ring action is great. Does get a bit overbooked by the end with 2 ref bumps and a double dq finish at the end. Nonetheless the match itself is great just lacks a clean finish. 4/5

29.03.2024 | Ruthless Attitude | 9.0 | This an awesome match where it had just about everything you would ever want to see in a match between these two minus a winner. It had some great mat wrestling, fun brawling where Austin removed the padding around the ring and nobody expected it where at the end of the match despite them bickering and disliking each other they showed sportsmanship and respect by walking out together. The ending disappointed everyone who saw it, but it did accomplish its goal where you want to see them go at it again and it was pretty funny how it got to that finish where the referees end up getting attacked. They do a great job of keeping a fast pace throughout the match and it's not reliant on big or repetitive spots. One of the last great Austin matches before his neck break later that year.
10.03.2024 | Legacy | 7.0 | Finish aside, this was great. It did feel more like a random match-up on Raw rather than vindicating the hot angle they had prior to this bout. As a match itself, it was super hot. Great display of wrestling early on. After Austin's injury, he wouldn't really be able to go about this way. It just shows how great of a wrestling purist Austin was before his neck injury. The match itself is great. It has that second-gear feel to it for what seems forever and ends with a double DQ. 'Twas heading to near classic territory if they'd gone longer with a hotter finish. It wasn't meant to be. These two would wrestle again at the main event of WrestleMania 14. By then, everything in the WWE would have changed. Great match albeit they only scratched the surface of what they were truly capable of.

05.01.2024 | kcharles520 | 5.0 | This match is really disappointing, especially considering how awesome & intense the angle was going into it. Too slow, too basic (needed to have much more of a grudge match feel based on the feud) and the tacky double DQ finish felt like it belonged on a RAW episode rather than the main event of a major PPV. All things considered, this match was average at best and a major letdown considering the participants.

22.12.2023 | JacquesRougeauCanHaveMyWife | 9.0 | What a goddamn match! Everything here was fast and flawless at the same time. Beautiful piece of technical wrestling without any stupid spots or obvious cooperation - just a shoot-looking bout between two guys that hate each other. It didn't drag at no point and it was exciting just watching these guys running the ropes. The character work was also phenomenal with both wrestlers making sure that their facials and body language were on point and they didn't have to do any silly moves or spam finishers to produce fantastic false finishes. The actual finish disappointed the crowd a little bit, but I guess it was a point to make them want more, so I'm not too concerned about it.
