Randy Orton vs. Rey Fenix vs. Trick Williams

I don't particularly love the idea of mid card champions fighting for world titles or competing for chances at them, but oh well. I still think Trick was a good choice to win regardless."

[6.0] "Good match where Rey Fenix showed another solid performance, because he just carried about every single big spot here. But Trick's victory was obvious here and I'm not hating this."

[7.0] "This was pretty good, all told. Orton gave a lot, in particular to Fenix who has gained real momentum of late and is increasingly getting over. Trick comes out the winner and is definitely in the running to win the MITB itself."

[7.0] "This was a very fun Triple Threat Qualifying Match. This was probably my favorite, surpassing the one that occurred on Monday. I liked how there were three different styles clashing; I never thought I would see Randy Orton going at it with Rey Fenix. We saw Rey Fenix and Trick Williams; Rey Fenix gave Trick Williams his best singles match to date on the Main Roster. Randy Orton was moving pretty well, even attacking Lil Yachty. I liked how Rey Fenix was positioned as the match's workhorse. The closing stretch was great. I liked the ending: how Rey Fenix got RKO'd, then Trick Williams hit the Trickshot Knee to Randy Orton as Trick Williams pinned Rey Fenix to secure the win as he joined Bron Breakker and Je'Von Evans as the 3rd Qualified Entry for the Men's Money in the Bank."

[8.0] "The Money in the Bank qualifier between Trick Williams, Randy Orton, and Rey Fenix was an absolute blast and set a high-octane tone right out of the gate. Rey Fenix was the undeniable MVP when it came to match speed and workrate--his lucha libre offense brought non-stop energy, making you genuinely wish he'd get a bigger singles push or a one-on-one program with someone like Orton down the line. Orton himself delivered one of his most engaged, fluid TV performances in recent memory, and that mid-air RKO on a flying Fenix was pure art. While putting midcard champions into Money in the Bank can sometimes feel counterproductive, it made complete sense here. It keeps Orton focused on his ongoing, deeply personal feud with Cody, while giving Trick Williams an opportunistic, character-defining win to steal the spot after hitting the Trick Shot. Fast-paced, zero dull moments even through the break, and a great showcase of three completely different styles clicking in the ring. Rating: 8/10"

[6.0] "Pretty good match. Each guy brought their own style. The action was for the most part solid. Fenix stood out the most with his high flying moves and kept the pace up. I liked what Orton did as well, methodically staying in control. Trick was the opportunist picking his spots which was for the best because he's by far the worst wrestler here. Orton hits Fenix with an RKO as he came off the top rope, which looked great, then Trick steals the pin. I would have preferred Fenix to win just because he'll be much better in the MITB ladder match than Trick will be, who isn't winning it anyway. 6.5/10"

[10.0] "I am I the only one that kind of feels mixed feels towards the fans here Voting and raining so early on, but there's a decent amount of mixed opinions and makes feels towards this opening triple threat MITB qualifying match, I mean it's Ray Phoenix. It's trick with him and Randy. I don't understand how those three names don't put on a very stellar performance and a great professional wrestle matchup, period."

[5.0] "Rey Fenix deserves it, Randy Orton doesn't need it, and despite everything, the ticket to the MITB match goes to the seemingly inevitable Trick Williams, who already holds a title. The match starts off pretty wild, never really finds its rhythm, and then ends with Williams countering one of Fenix's aerial moves--a move that feels like a resignation. That just doesn't do it for me."

[8.0] "Trick/Orton/Fenix is very good. The pace is very good; there's not a dull moment, even during the ad break. Fenix was on top form. The finish is surprising, with Trick winning the match. Putting minor champions in matches like MITB or the EC isn't usually a good idea, but in this case it makes sense as Orton is still feuding with Cody."

[6.0] "Two thirds of this match was really good. One of the better Randy Orton performances of the last few years, Rey Fenix continues to out punch his position on the card. But trick Williams... he was awful in multiple occasions here. He even managed to mess up the finish doing the only move he actually does. He is very lucky to still be getting the push he's eternally getting."

[7.0] "MITB season is usually so fun not just because of the anticipation of the ladder match and who will win, but also the terrific triple threat qualifiers we get every year and this one was an excellent example of that. Fast paced and super fun stuff all around"

[7.0] "A very enjoyable Money in the Bank qualifier with plenty of action, most of it driven by Rey Fenix. Randy Orton catching Fenix out of the air with an RKO was the clear highlight, while Trick Williams stealing the victory was predictable but effective for his character. I would have much preferred to see Fenix qualify because his performances have deserved a bigger opportunity, but this was still a solid triple threat."
