Joseph Sawyer vs. Samuel Shaw

[2.0] "I mean, this wasn't ideal. I will say, pretty strong first impression (in GCW) for Shaw, he looked pretty good. The crowd got smart with Sawyer in this and he gave them exactly what they wanted, reacting throughout and post match. Rough. *1/4."

[1.0] "Really not a great match... I had a little bit of hope for Sawyer, but honestly, it's rough. He's already pretty limited in the ring, and if he's going to spend most of the match trash-talking with the few guys who don't like him, then we're really not out of the woods here. Thankfully, Samuel Shaw managed to save us from a few pretty fucking awful moments, but it was way too little. The post-match stuff was a complete mess too. Just not a good time."

"im not sure where to rate this as I hate being negative. Joe Sawyer let the crowd get to him (to be specific like 5 guys at most) and he kept looking and jawing at them the whole match. I hope these 5 guys feel like losers in the morning cause they were milking the hell out of it. distracting from the actual match too. Samuel Shaw looked pretty cool here though. thanks god Atticus and Christian saved us from him on the mic cause it felt like he was gonna talk about the crowd and make a snarky comment. something interesting with Atticuss speech, theres no war games between them planned? what. its not a good look for Joe. he for sure needs to be doping more appearances. we had Effy and then Atticus who defended the belt like crazy. idk maybe hes trying to get he boos? hope he teams up shaw to face em at least. Edit: I had a think about Joe jawing at the audience. While I still think the crowd was lame for milking it, it was actually pretty cool. I think he definitely needs to wrestle more still but it was authentic. He still needs to find a middle ground as he was doing it too much but it was interesting to see on the broad cast when I was rewatching"

[3.0] "This was worst than than the title match at homecoming. I do not like to be a hater but I have never been big on Sawyer in any company he's been in. I understand people can be dicks in the crowd but to see a "vet" get that worked up over it was impressive. The match just never got interesting either. VLD48 was the best part of this whole thing and the fact they said the champ won't even be at war games is crazy! I'm still willing to give this Sawyer run a chance but it has been off to quite the rocky start."

[2.0] "This match was a disaster with the boo birds out in full force, and Brett is insane if he thinks Joe Gacy/Joseph Sawyer is going to be the face of GCW. The dude was just released from WWE, and it was probably for a good reason. It's getting to the point where, between the Drake Younger booking and some of the comments made at the Janela Bad Boy Anniversary Show, it feels like Brett is running the company by booking his friends instead of wrestlers who can actually sustain and grow the promotion. This match is emblematic of that problem."
