Baron Corbin vs. Lil Yachty

The scenario was a tad ridiculous and there wasn't much of interest in the ring, but this might be one of the least bad ways Yachty has been used since joining the promotion. In-ring quality: 0.5/5. Stakes: 1/2. Justification: 1/1. Placement on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 0.25/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 3.75/10. Match watched on the WWE YouTube channel."

[6.0] "Interesting match, lets be real we all love that clock stipulation. Match was what you would expect, Lil Yachti running away getting some offesne from time to time. The reason this doesnt gets higher is because the finish is a bit stupid. Nevertheless i enjoyed having this match on the card, always like something fresh but Lil Yachty should step back for a while, this can get stale if it happens often"

[4.0] "as a bit of bullshit this was good. Lots of smoke an mirrors. You have Corbin hit his finish, but then (like the HEEL he is), plays with his food too much and gets nut shotted before he can put Yachty through the table. Corbin was never a star. Never going to be a star. This doesn't hurt him. This isn't and was never going to be Flair/Steamboat, but rating it on the scale of it's goal, it's adequate."

[2.0] "Lil Yachty was actually pretty entertaining but Corbin you absolute goober just go for the pin What are you doing? 2019 booking at its finest, Thank god he's not champ anymore *1/4"

[2.0] "It wasn't the worst match I've ever seen, but I just could not bring myself to care about this own scintilla. The crowd did seem decently entertained by this I suppose, so I can't WWE doesn't know their audience in 2026. Other than that, there was not much here beyond what you'd expect from a celebrity vs. wrestler match. Yachty got the advantage early with a microphone-assisted cheap shot before Corbin began dominating him. Of course, this being WWE, the heel has to be an utter imbecile so instead of simply winning the match in five minutes to avoid facing Trick, Corbin pointlessly dragged things out allowing Yachty to survive the time limit. Boy oh boy, who coulda' seen that one coming? Oh, that's right, anyone who has watched WWE for more than a few weeks. *1/4"

[0.0] "Baron Corbin is a gold glove boxer, former NFL player, professional wrestler, and martial artist. We're expected to believe that some rapper with no athletic experience in his first match can last 5 minutes with Corbin. Ridiculous. I don't care about the stipulation, I don't care that Yachty is in his hometown, I don't care that kayfabe is dead. Corbin should have won and still given Trick the title match just for the hell of it. This match was awful. Corbin chases after Yachty, a couple indie geeks pretending to be his entourage take bumps to kill time. Yachty manages to get some offense on Corbin, it's laughable. Corbin hits End of Days with a minute and a half left, but instead of winning the match he goes for a table and has to stall as long as possible fumbling around with it. Yachty hits a low blow, time expires. A complete burial of Corbin and professional wrestling in general. This was a disgrace. 0/10"

[6.0] "Thia is fun horseshit wrestling can be. The crowd was fully behind it. The annoying manager getting his ass kicked by heel is not normally the formula but it worked really well and with this being Yachty home area the crowd was fully behind him. It's only 5 minites and it served its purpose; Yachty got his few fluries in that got huge reactions from the crowd, Corbin voming in and squahsing it and toying with his food, and ultimately Yachty surviving to allow the babyface in Trick to get his rematch. ***"

[1.0] "Corbin going for not one, but two End of Days in a row and still not going for a pinfall was incredibly forced. I mean, of course things wasn't going to end that quickly, but things looked really bad regardless. Thankfully it was only 5 minutes long."

[0.0] "A no count out, no disqualification match between a mediocre wrestler at his peak and a generic rapper. Who was this for? I expected nothing and received way less. More to the point, Corbin looks like the single dumbest man in the known universe. Utter nonsense. Just have the match."

[6.0] "Pretty fun match for what it needed to be. Let Yachty get some big hits in with the kendo stick, land a nice low blow, Corbin doesnt win because he was got too rattled by Yachty, and cared more about kicking the fucking life out of him and putting him through a table, rather that focusing on winning the match and keeping his title safe and pinning him after landing 2 end of days. Quite like it narratively, really. Thought it worked quite well to expand on Corbins character. This could have been absolute shite, but I was enjoying seeing Yachty's antics to last the 5 minutes, and I think the idea that it was Corbin's emotions getting of the better of him protects him from looking too much like a bum not beating Yachty here. He easily could have won, but got wrapped up trying to beat him down. Cool. Think a lot of people are forgetting that this match was created because Corbin wanted to beat down and hurt Yachty - obviously he could have just pinned him immediately, but why would he do that? That would go against his entire motivation for wanting this match in the first place - he didn't offer this match because he wanted to pin Yachty. He wanted to use the full allotted time to beat down on him, so obviously he tried to drag it out as much as he could. Couldn't disagree more with the idea that it was "Dumb" for Corbin to not just pick up the win, he landed 2 end of days, it was more than reasonable for him to think he could play with his food. Yachty landed a low blow at the death of the match, and was barely able to hang on. Thought this was really quite well done."

"Why was this even on the card? They could have just done it on SmackDown, or, even better, just not done it at all! Also, having Corbin bring out the table in the final moments was just stupid. Corbin could have easily pinned for the 1-2-3 when he hit his second End of Days on Yachty."

[5.0] "I'm gonna go against the grain here. Yachty did exactly what he was supposed to do - sneak a move in a few times, play cat and mouse with Corbin, and take a few bumps but stay alive to run out the clock. I'd definitely put him on the positive side of celebrity involvement with WWE."

[2.0] "The 'match' between Corbin and Yachty is rubbish. Why ruin an original idea with stuff that's completely nonsensical? Why do both of them go outside the ring when the rule is that Yachty has to last five minutes IN the ring? Why are Yachty's two mates trying to get him out? Why is Yachty going for a pin when he's supposed to last five minutes? And finally, why doesn't Corbin go for the pin after doing two End of Days? NO SENSE. Corbin comes across as a bit of an idiot. We can't criticise the in-ring action because it wasn't a proper match. Positive points: Yachty's hurracarana and the fact that he won without any help."

[0.0] "I didn't want to see this; the only good thing was that it allowed a title match to happen after, but this made no sense. You hit two End of Days. You didn't go for the pin. Then, marvelously, Lil Yachty hits a low blow, then wins via time-limit draw. This match made Baron Corbin have an IQ of a rock. Because what even was this match for? Could've just given the rematch with Trick Williams, and maybe adding Carmelo Hayes could have been a fun match. But Lil Yachty won in his WWE in-ring debut; never thought I would've typed that in for an actual sentence."

[1.0] "Bro, this was just not needed at all. It was just waste of freaking time. Was it enjoyable to see a non wrestler get his ass beat by a wrestler? Yes, but this would've been fine for just an episode of Smackdown, not on a PPV. This also just made Corbin look weak cause he couldn't beat Yachty."

[2.0] "This match made Baron Corbin look like the dumbest guy alive, he has the match won twice and then leaves the ring to pull out a table with 40 seconds left. Even if whatever he was going for connected he wouldn't have had a chance at winning. Commentary & Corbin's expressions didn't even try to sell how dumb his decision was and instead focused on Yachty. This could've been structured better to not make Corbin look like a fool"

[2.0] "An absolutely awful match, if Lil Yachty had just out lasted Corbin in some underdog story whatever sure but Corbin had him beat and goes outside to ring to get a table with 60 seconds left when there is no where near enough time for that to be even remotely believable. Just putrid"

[1.0] "Right credit where credit is due it wasn't a complete disaster liked i thought it was going to be. But it was still pretty fucking shit. I get it's meant to be a fun comedy match but it don't half make the champion look weak for not being able to beat a skinny rapper because his hubris got the better of him and he got punched in the bollocks. I will say Little Yacht looked a lot better than i thought he would and he layed in some mean shots with the kendo stick at the start. But yeah this was pretty fucking shit. Also the match is no DQ and no count outs so why didn't Yachty just run away into the crowd. (1/4*)"

[2.0] "Silly agenting of this match breaks the suspension of disbelief in this match and takes what could've been a fun "chase Yachty around the arena" affair (hell, make it Falls Count Anywhere! ) into a burial of Corbin as a wrestler. After all, the End of Days is a famously protected finisher on the level of the One Winged Angel, with the only kickout in history being at Mania four years ago. So when Corbin hits it at about 3:40, you're like, "wait, what? ". Because you can't have Yachty, of all people, kickout of the End of Days, that'd be dumb. So Corbin instead decides not to go for the easy pin to protect his title and instead sets up for a table to superplex him, only for a nut-shot to unceremoniously end the match. Sigh. Would've been better for the End of Days to get hit at 0:04 and the clock expire before the pinfall finishes the count, but I don't think Corbin or Yachty are that coordinated. Silly match, really."

[3.0] "The thing that makes this watchable was the fact that I don't like Lil Yachty being involved to begin with so having him be beat up a ton is a good watch. It makes Corbin look like an idiot and that makes the match bad more than the content itself. Not good"
