[3.0] "I avoided watching this for a long time. After finally watching it, it's not as garbage as I thought it would be. This match is a failure because people go to Arena Mexico expecting good in-ring performances above all else: whether you're an awesome technician or a high-flyer, the idea is that you give your all inside the ring for the sake of the crowd's entertainment. Did someone think Eddie Kingston had what it takes for accomplishing that at the moment?"
[0.0] "I hope Eddie Kingston's doing alright, because man, this was uncomfortable to watch. Front row attendees leave halfway through, constant whistle-booing, and some of the worst chemistry I've ever seen in the ring."
[0.0] "Man this was a very rough watch. I don't whose idea was it to have this be the main event or to give Eddie Kingston a world title match. Hechicero tried his best to make this watchable, but he failed horribly, I think he realized he couldn't save it and just went to Kingston's level. I don't know if Kingston hasn't had any motivation to wrestle good or if he's dealing with something in his personal life, but he was horrible here, sloppy offense and was out of breath. The exchanges and sequences were terrible. I have no idea what that ending was, but it was awful. The crowd dumped all over this mess. The only positive was probably Eddie giving Hechicero a suplex on the steps"
[0.0] "First off, I hope Eddie's okay. I'm not sure what he's got going on outside of wrestling, I'm not sure if all his past injuries decided to stack up against him this day... I don't want to speculate anymore than I already have. With that said, this was a very uncomfortable watch. Eddie's clearly not even *remotely* close to wrestling fit here, to the point that he's gassed after the initial exchanges and I'm honestly concerned he might have a medical event during this. His timing is completely off, his strikes miss even more than they usually do, his selling is either non-existent or delayed - like he's lagging in real life. It's just uncomfortable, man. There is absolutely *zero* chemistry between these two and past the opening minutes where Eddie tries to garner some heel heat, the only acceptable parts of this are when Hechicero wrestles Eddie like he's a life-size doll since he can't rely on Eddie being able to sell for him. Hechicero doesn't do as much as he usually would but I'm glad about that, I feel like something could have gone really bad if this went on any longer. Again, I hope Eddie's alright but this match should have never happened. The crowd actively turns on it (not from a heel heat standpoint but a please, let this end one) and what we witnessed is a blight on the recent CMLL product. 0*."
[6.0] "Decent enough match, i'm not sure where all the hate is coming from, Eddie worked the whole match as a heel, mocking the crowd and Hechicero, but the match was too short for Hechicero to really get revenge for the mockery, the finish wasn't good and came out of nowhere."
"@breakdownthewalls. That the most clearly ai comment I've ever seen on this website Ts match sucked i know why you needed ai to make this even appear good"
[10.0] "Really loved this match. Kingston and Hechicero worked way better together than I expected and I thought the whole thing was just really fun to watch. Kingston brought his usual rough, hard-hitting style while Hechicero was doing all the crazy technical stuff he's known for, and somehow it all fit together really well. I especially liked how physical it felt. The strikes looked nasty without the match just turning into a spotfest, and there was a lot of little stuff between the bigger moments that made it feel like they were actually trying to beat each other. Kingston's selling was great too. He made everything Hechicero did look like it was genuinely hurting him, which made the comeback feel more satisfying. Hechicero was obviously great here. His transitions and counters were ridiculous and there were a few moments where I was just thinking "how the hell did he get into that position? " Kingston was a great opponent for that because he has such a different style and made Hechicero's offense stand out even more. The match also had me buying into the near falls, which is probably the biggest compliment I can give it. I actually thought Kingston might pull it off at a couple points. The finish worked for me too, and I think Hechicero getting the win was the right call. Overall, just a really good match that I had a lot of fun watching. Great chemistry, good psychology, hard-hitting exchanges, and two guys with completely different styles making it work. Definitely one I'd recommend checking out."
[3.0] "So much discourse around this match, I had to watch it. The early portion is solid, nice heel work from Eddie. I think it was just a complete misread on what the crowd wants and was looking for. It's pretty slow and becomes plodding. Not a total fail in my opinion, little overhated, but certainly not good or even adequate."
[3.0] "The first two minutes were perfectly fine, but after that, we got a match that felt completely neglected. It's honestly pretty sad to see Eddie Kingston in this state during what seems to be the later part of his career. Hechicero also seemed strangely unwilling to fully commit himself to the encounter, which only made the whole thing feel even more awkward and disconnected. The result is a very strange and bizarre match that never really manages to find its footing. A disappointing outing, especially considering the talent involved."
[2.0] "[1.0*] Yeah man... this sucked. A very unfortunate match. The first 2-3 minutes were actually decent with Eddie working the crowd as a rudo tho, that Suplex into the Steel Steps was a very cool spot, but from this point on everything went fucking downhill. Eddie got fucking tired and Hechicero wasn't very interested in working properly either, so this just became a boring, plodding, awfully paced disasterclass. Crowd was booing and a lot of folks left the arena during the match. The finish felt like an audible because it was so weak and strange. Eddie talked to Hechicero during the pin and I think he just asked to wrap it up. A sad match."
[2.0] "[1.0*] sigh...i fucking love eddie kingston but this match was ass as hell! and the ending was good which i'm gonna give two points for his body going through that pin. but wtf was this match if i expected to be bangers but ended up a disasterous match! i don't even understand now. i am feeling sad for eddie in this horrific moment. damn."
[0.0] "When people talk about the gentrification of CMLL, this is what I think of. An American promotion calling in a favor and taking the main event of Arena Mexico on Friday. Kingston works in America in mid card street fights because he looks like a crazy beer bellied uncle who just got out of jail. He looks like a joke here. No one knows or cares who he is. This audience just saw 8 athletic lucha stars tear the house down and now they have to watch what I assume was TK phoning in a favor so Kingston can check a bucket list. He looked gassed and out of place. At times Eddie looked untrained. I hate the use of stairs when CMLL does a great job at saving things like that for heated matches not throwaway matches. They do Eddie's pretend All Japan strike exchange as he sucks air. Several pockets of empty chairs visible. Mercifully this ends after less than 10 minutes and the crowd seemed like they werent sure what they just saw. 0 stars. Embarrassing and I hope the Lutteroths remind Tony Khan which promotion consistently sells more tickets the next time he asks for a favor like this."
[1.0] "What has Eddie Kingston gotten himself into? He looks terrible. It's better not to say anything about the match because it was one of the worst in 2026."
[0.0] "Didn't had heart, soul, nothing. What you expect from a wrestling match to bring you in emotion terms, that match failed to bring. I don't know what is happening in Eddie's personal life but he NEED to get better, find some friends, get healthy mentally and physically, this isn't how I want to see him wrestle. Hechicero really tried something here, but he wasn't able. There is nothing he could done to fix it. Fucking disaster."
[2.0] "2 means inadequate. This match wasn't a complete fail to get a zero -- there were no real botches, and the beginning made me feel things -- but it is not adequate for a slow, plodding 9-minute heatless match to be the main event of a Viernes show. Eddie was gasping for air 2 minutes in. The finish sucked. I was giving the match the benefit of the doubt when it was announced, but now it's clear it was always dead on arrival."
