Funaki vs. Spike Dudley

[4.0] "Unfortunately, this match shows what happens when you don't change your style to fit what the audience is looking for. They were cold for most of this match. It started out quite well with Funaki quick offense generating some excitement. But Spike cuts him off and slows the pace down, which the audience was not looking for in their Cruiserweight match. Funaki takes a bump and tries to fire up some to get them back into it throughout the match, but they only wake up when he wins. An alright bout, but these two aren't playing to their strengths for some reason, and it suffers because of it."

[4.0] "Both men didn't do particularly bad here, but this was still a weak match between them, and sadly the crowd didn't cared all that much at that point."

[6.0] "These two actually got a lot of time which shocked me. Usually this goes 5-6 minutes but this went 10 minutes. It was quite fun and it was an awesome moment of Funaki winning the title."

[6.0] "This is like a five-star classic compared to everything that came before it. And so ends the fun little reign of Spike Dudley. Not the best match from the run, but it gets the job done."

[4.0] "The work was okay, they tried their best but they couldn't revive the crowd to save their lives. The fans didn't care and the highlight for me was one of the guys getting up after one of the near falls and screaming at the referee that he should have ended it there."

[5.0] "These two tried very hard and honestly did a fine job, Funaki even took a nutty bump to the floor off the top rope. Unfortunately the crowd was just absolutely dead, buried in the staggering boredom of one of the worst WWE PPVs ever. Oh well, Spike's reign comes to an ignominious end in front of uncaring fans."

[5.0] "I gotta feel for these two as the crowd was completely dead here because of a string of really bad matches that happened before this. There is a good effort here from the performers, but there was a few moments that looked sloppy but the numerous near fall spots was just booed and the crowd didn't care. Funaki winning the title was a nice moment for him, and having an underdog champion like this really could have written itself with a decent amount of build, but the match is just thrown together at the last minute."

[6.0] "Solid enough action to bring the crowd forward after the abject handicap match but kinda underwhelming an end to Spike Dudley's reign."

[5.0] "The action in this match was not bad at all, but the crowd was completely dead, either because of the awfulness of the show prior to this, or because they're just waiting for the four-way main event to start already. I question the wisdom of having Funaki win in a no-story match when Spike is on a roll as a heel, but still, it's a feel-good moment."

[5.0] "Funaki vs Spike Dudley was okay but it was placed before the main event so the dead didn't pay attention but Funaki wins and that is the most important."

[3.0] "This was boring as hell and the audience let them know it. Much like most of the other matches from this show's card, it just had nothing going for it. Boring and uninteresting, and Funaki winning didn't matter. *1/2"

[4.0] "This was a decent match in front of a dead crowd. I give the guys credit for working hard, but there was no story going into the match and the fans didn't care at all. Funaki winning the title was a nice moment for him after working for WWE for about seven years before this. **."
