[6.0] "Shown in full via extended AJPW TV cut. Who's bright idea was to have these four go for almost 20 minutes? Like I get it, we're not exactly cooking with this Smith/Hawkfield tag team in the first place, but at least give them SOMETHING to work with here. The Headhunters are more mobile than you think for their size but they are still tremendously limited and don't really have much depth to them; it doesn't help things that they quickly blow big potential spots like Johnny Smith hitting a big suplex on one of them in the first couple of minutes and from there end up having not a whole lot to work with for the next 17 minutes or so afterwards, so a lot of this match just felt like they were doing things without much of a rhyme or reason. Johnny Smith for obvious reasons comes across as the one working the hardest here as he has to do most of the big huge bumps for the opposing duo, but he also gets to flex some of his technical side with arm work that, naturally, goes nowhere and has no real aim to it. The big appeal of this is seeing the Headhunters do freakish spots for their size which for what its worth they do definitely give the crowd their money's worth with a ton of big double team moves, huge big-man bumps, and even a moonsault or two. This portion is fine, but we then have to put up with Hawkfield doing some incredibly clumsy stuff on his end that just kinda kills the momentum everyone else tries to muster here. Not that I'm a stickler for every move looking Platonically perfect or anything but when you have a guy do offence that can be best described as "flopping" then you've gone over the edge of reason for me. One of the Headhunters does a sit-out piledriver at one point that while random is pretty sick, can't complain much about it. They at least wrap this up fine with some reckless bumps like a double-man Stun Gun and back suplex that almost makes a widow out of the other Headhunter watching before Hawkfield wins after dodging the moonsault and going for a big top rope splash. This struggled to get going for a good while since the four here didn't really have much to work with....and they still didn't really have anything going by the end, but at the very least the action was more than enjoyable. The Headhunters put on I would say their most workrate-focused performance of their short-lived tour with the company, I'd say that performance if you just want to see big guys do some wild stuff is more than worth the watch. Smith acts as the glue here since he bridges the gap with his FIP moments and David/Goliath dynamic here with the bigger duo alongside pushing the initiative for Hawkfield and co when the tempo starts to slow. I'd say this is for sure flawed but I had ultimately a good time watching, and that, ultimately, matters much more than everything else."
