Akio vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Funaki vs. Paul London vs. Shannon Moore vs. Spike Dudley

[5.0] "Most of the action was fast paced, and the final stretch with Chavo and London was nice, but there wasn't anything else too great about it, and the elimination order was too fast."

[5.0] "The ACTION is a ton of fun. The BOOKING is quite horrible. First, the disrespect for Funaki for having him defend the title after he had been a loyal soldier for years only to get eliminated first in a minute or so. Then Akio gets eliminated by not getting back to his feet, which was kind of awkward. Finally, you have Paul London, who had an incredible Rumble moment and they make do all the work here and work the whole match, only to get eliminated in a typical heel fashion by Chavo. You can argue they were getting him over by giving him so much time, but I think they were punishing him for getting over on his own at the Rumble. Chavo didn't really need this win, but he is always a good choice. There is a lot of good albeit bite sized action throughout this match, but the booking is so typical of the cruiserweight division at the time that is soured me quite a bit."

[6.0] "It had its moments, but the first half was just mediocre at best. The final part with Chavo and London was fantastic though and saved the match from mediocrity."

[6.0] "Really fun match but wish it got some more time to really get going. Very much a group of wrestlers that you know could've had a classic if this was in ROH or something, but WWE wasn't interested in letting them go full-force in this stuff."

[6.0] "Nice fast paced display of the SmackDown cruiserweight division here. While the match stipulation was confusing, as this was more of a gauntlet than an elimination match, it was fun and made Paul London look good before Chavo stole the win."

[6.0] "A fantastic Paul London performance carries this through some absolute dogshit booking. Having him work the whole match was very smart from the company."

[6.0] "A fun match a to revisit but some things still don't sit right with me. First off, the pros, Paul London and Chavo Guerrero are great in this, London being the fighting underdog and Chavo the opportunistic heel. Loved Chavo wanting the double count out victory and as soon as they were in the ring together it was the strongest part of the match. Speaking of the count out, Akio's elimination was bullshit and a real stain on the match. Since when does both men have to reach their feet for the 10 count? Id be more furious if Akio wasn't the weakest performer in the lot. Akio took a gnarly bump from that avalanche neckbreaker but before that his generic Japanese gimmick has him hopping around the ring giving pretty pathetic offense in the process. Far from the calling of being a good ol country boy is he. Shannon Moore had some fun moments but was in the ring for a cup of coffee. Spike Dudley and Funaki were also in for a way too short time but at least their interactions were fun and built to what I assume is a tv fued. Fun match but riddled with lazy booking decisions, luckily the work of London and Chavo made this one of the more memorable matches of the card"

[6.0] "Really fun little showcase of the cruiserweight division, always enjoy these types of matches. Some of the elimination intervals could have been drawn out a little bit more, and the London/Akio segment of the match was maybe drawn out a little too much but overall it's a nice experience. To me the highlight was definitely Paul London working his way through the match, he looked awesome with some great bumping and explosive offense."

[7.0] "Good match for what it was, a slightly confusing gauntlet match where everyone stood around like they would tag in but tags weren't allowed. But it was a nice showcase for an underutilized Paul London, and a strong heel showing from Chavo. It was definitely time for a CW title change, at any rate."

[5.0] "Nothing interesting apart from London's impressive performance. It was alright though, people cared more than they usually did for this cruiserweights bouts and the pace was decent. But also Akio's elimination was bullshit, because since when both guys have to stand up stop the count?"

[5.0] "Unfortunately the rules for this match was really stupid where it was a series of 1 on 1 matches that ended unrealistically quickly and the elimination on Akio was ridiculous where the referee suddenly thinks it's a last man standing match? Still despite some of the really bad booking decisions, the story with Paul London was good where he almost ran the table. He is a naturally exciting babyface to watch and it's hard not to route for him when the odds against him was impossible and I did like the set up for a big rivalry with Chavo, where Chavo still had to cheat to win despite having the obvious advantage. It's not a bad match for action, but the unannounced gauntlet structure was a really bad idea."

[7.0] "Nothing unmissable, but still a quick and enjoyable match. In addition it is necessary to mention the good performance of Paul London"

[4.0] "Just a bunch of meaningless spots after spots and quick eliminations that meant nothing. Fine for what it was but could've been much better, [**]"

[5.0] "This was okay with London as the star of the match. The quick eliminations hurt the match because guys were getting beat after barely taking any punishment. London as the guy that worked most of the match and Chavo took advantage to win fit the story of Chavo as a heel that only won because of the rules of the match. Solid **1/2"
