[7.0] "Great match, the best of this event, the rivalry of Mankind and Undertaker I feel to this point I'm watching like it already is a long long storytelling, and some matches were good other less, but there it is. 7/10 [****]"

[7.0] "These two work magic every single time they step into the ring together. This is actually one of their weakest PPV singles matches, and it is still fantastic. I'd probably put this a bit over the Survivor Series match, but that would be it. The violence is a bit ahead of its time with two unprotected chair shots, glass breaking, and what might be the most impressive looking table spot of all time. The way Mick gets 'stuck' in it after going head first is such an underrated moment. There is good psychology with him working Taker's eye too. The booking is a bit odd, and the aftermath looks like it gets botched a bit, so I wouldn't exactly call this a gem, but it is certainly match of the night and a worthy match in their long series of masterpieces."

The whole match is just a great fight though, after watching a lot of their matches I can only say these two actually had great chemistry and Foley is Good."

Also this is technically a no DQ match since both wrestlers were using chairs right infront of the referee but that didnt really bother me. This was Undertakers first title defence since he won the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 13 and its definitely worth watching."

[8.0] "So this is apparently a no dq match, with mankind crushing a glass water pitcher and a chair against the skull of the undertaker. They also spend an inordinate amount of time outside the ring with no count outs. Foley takes several scary bumps and a chair shot, as his is wont to do. He loses his mask and then takes a great headfirst dive into the spanish announce table. Still he kicks out of a chokeslam, but a tombstone is enough to finally put him away. Brutal contest for these two."

[8.0] "A fantastic match to continue their epic saga, pushing their rivalry to its climax heading into their infamous HIAC match. This match stands tall with all others in their feud in terms of narrative and stakes, and takes on new levels of intensity and brutality with numerous big shots delivered and a fantastic steel steps-to-table moment where Mankind looks like he sinks through a hole in the announcers' table. This match does a particularly good job at putting over Taker and setting the stage for his utter destruction of Mankind at King of the Ring. Peak Paul Bearer at ringside as well."

[8.0] "Another awesome Undertaker v Mankind match! It's strong from a storyline perspective with Undertaker selling his eye injury from a few weeks before very well and when the bandages get removed it actually looks gruesome. Undertaker removing the mask was also a really cool moment as Mankind would turn face and start with the "Three Faces of Foley" storyline not long after this. What really impresses me every time these two meet is that no matter what kind of matches they had, they always knew how to make a match feel hard hitting and this was a regular singles match for the title. Foley takes some brutal spills here very early on with the way his head hits the guard rail. They both take unprotected chair shots to the skull and that visual where Mankind takes a shot to the head with the steps and then flies off the ring announcers table head first is a sickening sight to say the least! They would obviously top this in their Cell match the following year, but this match pulls no punches whatsoever. Pretty much all of their matches are worth seeing and this was no exception. Pretty cool revenge storyline with Paul Bearer after the match."

I have enough of these guys' matches at this point - it's just constant brawling outside of the ring with countless usage of furniture with the referee not bothering to disqualify or count out anybody. It's basically a garbage match and you don't need much talent to have one, so it perfectly covers up The Undertaker's shortcomings here. Foley bumps like crazy and his bump through the table looks absolutely incredible, but at the same time I start missing their first match when they kept most of the stuff in the ring and still made it look brutal."

[8.0] "Mick Foley really brought out the best in Undertaker. Foley was so giving here, as he took some serious risks to make himself look fearless and get Undertaker over on his first PPV title defense. Mankind's head-first bump from the ring apron through the announce table was downright sickening. The first few minutes of this sees Undertaker kick all kind of ass as he violently slams Mankind's skull into the barricade. Mankind takes Undertaker's strikes well, by going all jellied-leg whenever Undertaker would land a big shot. Mankind is able to cut Undertaker off temporarily by striking Undertaker with the urn behind the referee's back. The constant rule-breaking happening right in front of the referee did eventually become tiresome, with even Jim Ross and Vince McMahon calling it out on commentary. With Undertaker mostly dominating this match, this felt quite one-sided, but I don't see that as a negative. Undertaker isn't the most compelling when he's down on his back selling and having him just throwing everything at Mankind made for much more interesting viewing."

[7.0] "Taker still has the bandage on his face covering the burn. Both guys are on the floor already and Mankind gets sent over the railing. Bearer passes Mankind the urn and he cracks Taker and pins him for 2, crowd cheers the kick out. Referee goes down soon and Mankind claws Taker. Another ref runs in and gets the mandible claw. Bearer throws in a chair but Mankind goes for the steps. Taker kicks them back in his face and wallops him with a chair. Mankind gets caught in the ropes and for the first time in his WWF stint (I think) the mask is knocked off. Undertaker hits him with the steps knocking him off the apron and into the Spanish announcers table! Holy shit! Mankind actually went through the middle of the table, he looks like a gopher sticking out of it! Taker brings him back in and a chokeslam gets 2. A tombstone finishes it. Mankind tries lighting a fireball but Taker grabs it and uses it on Paul Bearer. This would begin the introduction of Kane, which took MONTHS. No brainer, best match so far tonight!"

[7.0] "That was a very good World Title match. It was the usual story between these two with Undertaker overpowering Mankind. The bump through the table was especially brutal. This was the first month after Undertaker's title win and Mankind was the perfect opponent for him to defend for his first PPV title defense. Good stuff. ***1/2"

[8.0] "These two were arguably each other's greatest opponents, and never put on a bad match. This is no exception, and as usual Foley takes some CRAZY bumps, including going head first through a table. The only downside is the post-match botch with the fireball, but it still worked for storyline purposes so it's not a major issue."

[8.0] "Another really awesome war from the Mankind Taker feud. This match made great use of the stipulation and they just beat the hell out of each other. Both men had great performances as they showed that, even after many matches together, they were still capable of keeping the audience very engaged. This brawl went all over the place and the crowd loved it. This wasn't a technical masterclass by any means, but if you like Attitude Era-style brawls, you'll appreciate this. After a war, Taker hits the Tombstone to win. ***3/4"

This match had nonstop action from beginning to end with Foley taking some extremely brutal bumps, especially the head-first dive through the announce table. One of most underrated matches of both mens careers. ****"

[7.0] "Just a really fun match all in all, with some drops in logic. There's some great brawling between the two, thrilling fast pace right from the start and there's never really a lull in the match altogether. Some nice weapon spots and a brutal steel steps to table spot on Mankind near the end of the match. Mick's character work is brilliant as predicted and the spot when his mask comes off is a cool moment but not the shocking moment now as it might have been back then. Only drawback for me is somewhere in the middle of the match, Mankind brings Taker at the outside of the ring while the referee is clearly still watching them, but Mankind still hits Taker with a glass jar filled with water (okay, maybe it's not worth a DQ) and then a F**KING STEEL CHAIR ON THE HEAD but doesn't get DQ'd (come on, ref, really? ). It makes no sense, but they try to cover it up on commentary as "the referee expected this would happen so it's not a DQ". Great logic. Kinda is annoying but doesn't mean the match overall is bad, on the contrary. I agree with the ***3/4 rating."

[7.0] "Another really good match between these two (surprise surprise), Mankind was pretty much the first guy Taker had a great connection with and it shows in this match. The cactus clothesline spot where both guys landed on their feet early on was hype as hell and of course the table spot is one of the best bumps in the history of WWE as far as I'm concerned. Foley was practically balls deep in that thing! The match ended surprisingly cleanly but back in the day when you got hit by a Tombstone that meant it was definitely over. Solid bout from bell to bell. ****"
