[6.0] "This match really went a long way to show the talent of Sting that he was able to still have a very good match against a far younger and athletic opponent at the age he was without relying on the younger opponent carrying him 100%. Sting was nearing the end of his career, and his psychology and adaptability helped make this a good match. The injury at the end kind of makes this one sad, but they finished up and got out of there before it got truly horrible. While I wouldn't call this match one to highlight, it was still quite good and worth watching since it's only one of two PPV WWE matches for the Icon. I definitely don't think anything Rollins did is worth calling him unsafe, but it's also a fact that Rollins is known for being intense in the ring, so it almost makes me feel like they maybe should have put Sting with a Kevin Owens or Miz type that is known for taking good care of people in the ring."
[5.0] "This match is very weird, it definitely isn't bad, and I'm pretty sure that they've delivered the message they wanted to, but seeing the heel Rollins dominating Sting like that during the entire thing feels awkward, it's different from Cena being dominated, for example, this felt legitimately like a burial, and we know that the track record of WCW legends in WWE is pretty bad, and Vince loved to bury the WCW guys every time he could, so it's a really bad feeling to watch some moments of this match, specially because Sting looks like an old defenseless fool for a lot of moments in it, and the crowd really reflects on that, they're much quieter than on the previous match, for example, because their hero is getting his ass kicked without a proper comeback. And when the comebacks were supposed to happen, Sting was already banged up from the several injuries he had during the match... they DEFINITELY shouldn't had wrestle a style so stiff here, I know that Rollins was very stiff at that time, but the bumps that a 56-year old Sting took here were brutal and even irresponsible. Sting started the match dominating, because Rollins had just lost the US Title and received an AA from Cena, to keep him in the ring, and Sting tried to take advantage of that, but Rollins knew how to counter. After that, there was the nasty spot on the table, a really ugly fall for Stinger, and Rollins did two or three buckle bombs on Sting, that messed him up even more, he was paralytic after one of those, and the match stopped for several seconds. Rollins took a nasty bump when he was thrown out of the top rope as well, so they were both trying to wrestle a stiff match, probably the wrong choice. Sting showed incredible resilience and finished the match, it was weird, he clearly couldn't execute the scorpion deathlock correctly, but somehow they've managed to finish it, I really thought that the match would be stopped at some point, it was that ugly. Of course, the stiff moves are great to watch, they look dangerous, realistic and insane, but for the health of the wrestlers they're bad, Sting nearly had to end his career after this one, and I'm glad he didn't, but this is definitely a remarkable match, that has many qualities, but leaves mixed feelings in everyone, specially knowing what every spot meant - {**1/2}"
[8.0] "7.6/10: it wasnt a particularly great match, but it carried a character with it. I would give this match for credits for it being the last match of sting in wwe, for it being the second match for rollins in the night, and still him performing so good, the return of kane, and the failed cash in, and maybe some parts of the match too. the show closed with a great ending. the match itself was decent, but we just had to like it because of sting in wwe."
[7.0] "I am so mad about the fact that this match wasn't able to give us the best match that Sting deserved after his debut at Survivor Series 2015. I am always sad about his unfortunate injury. (7/10)"
[8.0] "Sting was in his late 50s when this match happened, damn. Seth took many good looking bumps for Sting, but it? s not like the latter held back. Falling on and breaking one of the announcers? tables, getting power slammed on the broken table, taking two buckle bombs. And remember, he was nearing sixty at that time. Of course the buckle bombs and probably the other bumps too injured him leading to the end of his career, or so we thought. Not taking into account the unfortunate injury of Sting, this was a high paced match with many exciting moments. A great last match for Stings short run in wwe."
[6.0] "This was going well but ultimately didn't work out, partially because the entire event made Seth Rollins into a babyface and the injury hurt the remainder of the match."
[7.0] "Great match that manages to entertain perfectly, a truly wonderful storytelling and a really important victory for the career and also for Rollins' gimmick. The match obviously has a fairly slow pace, due to the fact that Rollins was tired and that Sting did not have the skills to spend too much time in the ring, but despite this both are really working very hard, and they are really to be praised all the risks that Sting decided to take, and although things went wrong, he still managed to finish the match. Chapeau."
[4.0] "Unfortunately, things went awry at Sting's that evening. It seems to me that the beginning of the end of Sting's career was the moment when Seth Rollins thoughtlessly threw Sting on the commentators' table, which was not dismantled from the equipment, and then Stinger was finished off with two buckle bombs in the corner of the ring. Nonetheless, Sting should be commended for his courage and resilience to end the match as originally intended, as he risked the cost of his life."
[7.0] "This was a very good match that was entertaining the whole way although the Sting injury was scary. As a match it was a lot of fun. I loved the story of Rollins possibly being tired after having the other match before this one, so it added to the intrigue of this match. Very good match ***1/4"
