Although the excitement level picked up, the execution was a bit on the sloppy side and there were a few spots that I found a bit contrived. The Pepsi Plunge at the end looked great, but the rest was nothing special."
[7.0] "It was a good match with a fine performance by the four wrestlers involved. The main problem of it was the first half. It was slow and not really intesresting. But then after a Honma hot tag it got more exciting with decent nearfalls and cool spots. But on that first half there were a couple of moments I enjoyed. First when Punk and Honma brawled on the oustide and Punk irish wipoed his opponent against the guardrail, making Honma grab a chair (as he was a death match specialist at that time) but then realizing it was a normal match and thrwowing it. The other moment was that Inverted Boston Crab by Cabana/ Came Clutch by Punk at the same time, broken by a stiff dropkick by Honma. After the Honma hot tag the pace totally changed and they begun to hit some cool moves. For example, Honma and his Bulldog, or the Flatliner-DDT combo or his stiff chops and they do some cool sequences of moves that got the crowd invested in the match. Colt Cabana did some amazing moves, the Kroptinite Neckbreaker or a hurricanrana. Another cool spot was Punk's falcon arrow on Honma, who rolls tot he outside. Punk tries a tope, but Miyamoto spears him. Then they did a sequence of cool nearfalls, for example a diving blockbuster from Honma, a Doomsday Superplex, Cabana hits an amazing Asai Moonsault, a Devil's lock DDT from Punk and then Punk wins with Pepsi Plunge on a crazy bump by Honma landing with the head. I really enjoyed Honma's strikes and moves. Also Colt Cabana made a great performance."
[7.0] "ROH Final Battle 2003 : That match was cool. The crowd was really weak. Punk and Honma had some good exchanges and same with Colt and Miyamoto. The finish was violent because Honma landed on the head after a Tiger Driver from the 3rd rope by Punk. CFØS Ratings : ***1/2"
[6.0] "I'm surprised that this received the attention that it has. There was decent work from both teams, but nothing really special. The AJPW guys wrestled with good aggression, but I can't say there was anything else to their game. It's not like we had old strong-style Honma here, so he didn't wrestle anything like his peak run in 2013-2015 NJPW. Punk was a bit sloppy but intelligent and technical as always, and Cabana went between being a good serious wrestler and a decent comedy wrestler. There wasn't much story here, just constant tags and spots. Many of those moments were decent, but the only truly impressive and memorable moment was Punk's match-winning Pepsi Plunge on Honma, due to the near head-first bump Honma took for it. If only the prior 16 minutes had been at or near that level. ***"
[6.0] "The first half (or so) wasn't very interesting, but once they kicked it up a notch & hit that 2nd gear, this got really good and remained very exciting till the end. The finish with Punk spiking Honma on his head with the Pepsi Plunge looked devastating. It's a pretty good match! Nothing must see, but it's a pretty fun watch for sure."
Gewohnte starke Tag Team Action (***3/4)."
[7.0] "It's kinda pretty nice tag team match. Nothing really unique or unspecial but it's definitely worth watching. The finishing move by Punk was fire."
[8.0] "Miyamoto and Cabana had an even showing to start where both men were good. When they tagged out I thought it was really cool to see Punk and Honma going against each other. There was good team work from both teams. Turmeric storm took turns hitting Cabana and SCS used good double team moves like a wheelbarrow/camel clutch combination that I really liked. I liked how Punk and Cabana isolated Miyamoto. I like how Cabana boasts while being comedic to make his work on Miyamoto look even better. The crowd really got behind Turmeric storm as they tried to gain momentum. Turmeric Storm hit a great superplex with Honma on Miyamoto's shoulders to Punk. Cabana was super impressive when he hit an asai moonsault to Miyamoto. Punk finished Honma off with a great Pepsi Plunge for the win. Both teams were really good and had a great match."
[6.0] "If I am being totally honest the hype of this match escapes me, is there something I am missing. Have seen it twice and both times thought it was a solid 6 out of 10 and nothing more. Help someone."
[9.0] "Das vielleicht beste Second City Saints Match bis dato! Sehr geniale Action gegen Turmeric Storm.
