[9.0] "I really don't know about anyone else, but this match was EXTREMELY emotional for me. Maybe it's because I've been to a lot of GCW shows and one of my favorite tag teams is Bussy. But everything in this match really meant something to me. It's a shame the general public really hated this one."
[1.0] "This might end up being the worst match of the year. I am not sure how this feud became this. I was already worried as the build had dragged out so much. The stipulations seemed to make little sense going in. Also neither wrestler seemed to be performing to level lately. Then the match started and some how Effy and Allie had almost zero chemistry. It seemed like so many spots were messed up or miscommunicated on. Then it just dragged on forever. I cannot say how much it felt like forever. This should have been a major point on the calendar this weekend and it failed on so many levels."
[0.0] "This may genuinely be one of the worst wrestling matches ive watched in a while. Sure, im not a big Effy or Allie Katch guy but this was just laughably bad. 25 straight minutes of basically nothing but "oh oh im gonna hit you! no im not... or am i! " it was just so genuinely boring. You could not get me to care about this match if you tried."
[1.0] "This match gets a one cause I think Allie Katch is hot. Match was slow, long as hell, and honestly not that fun to watch. Effy literally wrestled the match with his bare ass hanging out for a while and I'm sitting here wondering why. Not a fan of Effy either tbh, I don't understand his appeal."
[1.0] "A full-on car crash in every sense... and wayyyyy too long, seriously. I get it it's an Effy-style match with heavy overbooking, drama, all that but this was just too much. Given the stakes, sure, you expect some excess, but there's a difference between going big and completely losing control. This needed restraint, badly. Honestly, pretty disappointing."
[2.0] "Most likely, I just don't belong to the target audience - I don't watch GCW regularly, I haven't seen many of their union matches, and I haven't seen a single solo match between them, but I wasn't thrilled watching it. I have respect for Effy and Allie as entertainers, but I didn't really enjoy most of their matches, and this one was no exception. I understand that the stakes were high, but the attempts at storytelling sometimes looked too farfetched, and the wrestling itself was slow and boring. It wasn't blatantly terrible, I can see from the comments that a number of people really liked the match, but as with the previous match, it's just not my thing."
[6.0] "Is is brilliant? No. Is it too long? Yes. But I genuinely think this rating is appalling, it was the end of a bitterly emotional long term story between two old friends, which sold Effy's breakdown and Allie's reluctance to hurt her old friend in case he might still be in there somewhere. I think if this was two different wrestlers it would not anywhere near the negativity it has. Some people just hate Effy and Allie and can't see the match for what it was."
[5.0] "This dragged hard, they clearly wanted a big emotional story but the pacing killed it. It's slow, the crowd isn't with them and the run ins don't add much. The blood helps visually but it comes way too late to save anything."
[3.0] "I was expecting Worst Match of the Year territory for how these ratings sound but it was just bad. It wasn't the worst you'll ever see. It's slow, boring, and drawn out. They try doing "cinema" but the crowd isn't invested. The wrestling here is basic, the spots basic, The run-ins are not good. They try to build Effy as this monster but it doesn't work well in his favor here. Overall, not good. [*.75]"
[6.0] "This had been brewing for some time back to before Allie had her Hammerstein injury with it now shifted to Effy going through a mental decline since losing the GCW Title. I felt this had some issues from match placement especially following the chaos of Sandman/Invisible Man as it seemed to affect the atmosphere of the match. The match felt like it needed another stipulation to up the intensity given the Loser Leaves Town aspect. Allie showed her internal struggle well given needing to hurt her former friend while also putting forth a nice effort in the ring while her bleeding added to the emotion. Effy continued his dissent while Manders, Parrow & Dark Sheik all tried to be voices of reason. The match may have gone longer than it needed especially on a long show while the gimmick and placement I felt worked against it but I thought this was handled well enough even if I could still say I expected more given the stakes."
[4.0] "I remember the consensus of Effy's last big match at Spring Break 8 with Mance Warner being that it was more sports entertainment than wrestling and I think that is exactly this matches problem. It's drawn out, uninspired and overbooked. The work is fine, nothing great but with enough brutality and good storytelling they could've done something great like the KJ Orso vs Sam Stackhouse I Quit match. The brutality of it all was really mixed as it didn't really sell the hatred between the two until Allie Katch started gushing near the end. I think this is because Effy isn't the best heel as it feels more like his face style but just with the context shifted, the story is hard to buy into. Then to add a series of run ins from people that should realistically be involved like Manders, Parrow and Sheik but none of them feel impactful. Manders is taken out immediately, Parrow blades and then just leaves and Sheik's emotional passing of the turnbuckle to Allie goes over pretty flat with the crowd. It all felt like checking boxes for what should be a big deal feud ender but none of it felt genuine. Such a shame as this was one of the biggest stories going into the weekend"
[7.0] "Always a bit confused by the Cagematch bias against Effy and Allie Katch. Yes, this was a bit too melodramatic, especially from Allie with her reluctance to hit Effy, and yes, neither of them are great in-ring workers but they're also not actively bad and neither was this. As a regular follower of GCW and a fan of both of them, this did have emotional heft. The run-ins, contrary to the Sandman match, were from people who actually mean a lot to both characters, Effy's gradual heel turn/him going crazy and attacking his friends has been happening on GCW shows for months, it goes back to him losing the title, the screwdriver even refers to his feud with Mance Warner from over a year ago. So while this certainly suffered from card placement and a dread crowd, the story absolutely meant sense to me and what some I think perceive as overacting is quite in keeping with how these guys portray their characters. Allie being very emotional serves as a contrast to her opponent losing it and sells the friendship being lost, the sanity being lost, all of it. To me that's the good kind of pro wrestling soap opera."
[7.0] "This one was about 10 minutes longer than it needed to be, but the core story of the match was fine, I had a good time with it. Some solid ideas here for a big match, but it got a bit self indulgent. There was a lot of run ins following the overbooked on purpose Sandman retirement match, a handful of lulls in the action, and a lot of melodramatic action. Make this one a 12~14 minute match and it would have been looked at more favourably. It still had me hooked from start to finish."
[6.0] "I love them both and was a fan of the match but they are both not 25 minute wrestlers lol well ive seen them both go like this before but thats with someone who can they bounce off of good like Zack Sabre Jr for effy and ive seen Allie have good matches with people smaller than her. (in a good way, she plays the big in matches very well) just a bit of a confusing choice for this to go on long but I did like the run ins and th finish. even though I think Sheik could have done more. seems like she didnt want to get involved between the two I do get the story. effy has been slowly turning heel with his outbursts costing people matches that hes not even in. Allie had enough and still has some resentment from Hammerstein. Effy was who she faced when she got injured and if she beat him she would have had a shot at mance who was champ. effy still not mentally there sees it as Allie betraying him and wanting to finish the job from Hammerstein. it was some fun. but once again, way to long. maybe this would have been better if it was on another card where the sandman match wasnt on it lol love them both though and wonder what Allie does now. super interested in seeing what effy does now. Seems Billy Dixon wants a piece of him, Sheik coming out to help Allie, Manders has the brass ring and his best friend is gone."
[8.0] "Dumbfounded by these ratings, this match was exactly what it needed to be - intensely dramatic, violent and affecting. The action was too slow for sure, but I enjoyed every second of it. I think if you hadn't followed the story this would be a slog, but it's an important notch in one of the company's biggest stories, so it should be dramatic. Maybe I'm biased as they're two of my favorite wrestlers, but I was hooked and uncomfortable by Effy's escalating violence. I'm sad about Allie leaving but it's a good way for her to walk out. Also, Sheik could've done more? She kind of came out and handed Allie a weapon already in the ring and then dipped. The Manders run-in was a nice callback to the Mesa show. Effy isn't fine."
[0.0] "Catastrophically terrible. An irredeemable, valueless match. You could have placed this match anywhere on any card and it wouldn't have been any better. Doomed."
[0.0] "Nothing worked here. Slow, overbooked, and completely lifeless. The story didn't connect, the crowd was dead, and it just dragged on forever without any payoff. This shouldn't have happened in the first place."
[4.0] "Not terrible but a victim of card placement for sure. Too many run-ins after the intentionally overbooked Sandman match. I don't think Manders added anything, and Dark Sheik inadvertently usurped Allie's comeback spot. I would say they fully executed the Effy heel turn as it went from goofy to upsetting, so if they capitalize on it and follow it up, the ends justify the means."
[1.0] "That was dreadful, and it's a strong contender for worst match of the year, very weird match between Effy and Allie, they couldn't get going at any point and the crowd was drained out after that insane Sandman retirement match, so what did they do? A 25-minute sloppy epic match of course... why not? The dynamic here was very weird and I know Effy is an eccentric guy, but boy his performance was awful, he was constantly being creepy and those long moments where he wrestled with his butt showing off were absolutely grotesque, the only pop of the entire match was when Allie pulled his trunks back and that was a relief pop lol. That was bizarre, we even had some respectable hardcore moments, but soon enough the match got lost in some cinema bullshit, I really don't know what was the goal there, we had several bad quality novelties with both workers struggling and refusing to use weapons on the other for example. It's bad acting and corny stuff inside an environment where people just don't care about your overdramatic storytelling, very rough to watch... the only savable things here were the few violent spots - {1/2*}"
[0.0] "One of the easiest zeroes I've ever given. A baffling failure of an attempted epic. The crowd is just dead for lengths of time and it seems to fall apart at points where they're waiting for someone to run in or to find a weapon."
[2.0] "Nothing extraordinarily wrong about the wrestling itself apart from it being fairly boring, but the storytelling, intended tone, and run-ins were dreadful. No one wants overly dramatic nonsense in wrestling, much less in the midcard of an indie show. I've seen much worse, but this was bad. *1/4"
[0.0] "Overbooked mess. Effy is currently doing an angle where he's emotionally spiraling after losing the GCW title, but it's been a disastrous storyline from the start. Instead of building sympathy or intrigue, it completely sucked the energy out of the room. The match ground to a halt so Effy could have a dramatic breakdown and attempt to tell a cinematic-style story that just didn't work in front of a live crowd. Coming right after Sandman's retirement segment, which already drained the audience, this absolutely killed whatever energy was left. What should have been a big match between Effy and Allie Katch ended up feeling awkward, indulgent, and painfully overbooked."
[2.0] "This is not the worst match of the week but it's not far off it. It's lethargic, it's slow, it doesn't feel nearly violent or brutal enough given the history between these two. The worst part of this is the run time, however. Twenty five minutes, really? Too slow, too bland, too much to sit through. Katch's crimson mask towards the end looked great so I'll give this a point for that. This one's unfortunately quite bad, though. *."
[3.0] "I would not say that this a horrible match, but was boring and not good. They were trying to do an emotional Loser Leaves and the match was incredibly slow because of that, but it didn't "click", you know? And don't even get me started on how this was a hardcore match that barely had hardcore spots."
[0.0] "One of the worst Mania Weekend matches ever. Glacially slow "wrestling" with a lot of faces and a story that didn't get over at all with the live crowd full of GCW fans. The run-ins were bad too. 26 minutes that felt like 2 hours."
[1.0] "Allie Katch vs Effy was terrible, and to our misfortune, it wasn't even terrible in an entertaining way. It was exactly what you'd expect from these two. There was zero heat, they whiffed on about a dozen spots and to top it all off, they did the "why am I so violent? I can't hurt my best friend" thing at the end. As if the match wasn't bad enough, they had to shoehorn in the most tired trope in all of wrestling. Effy and Allie Katch are hacks who have been conning indie wrestling for the last six years. They're popular on social media but I've never met anyone who is a fan of them for their actual wrestling. Listen to the crowd during this match, they couldn't have cared less about either of them. They were not in the least bit over with a crowd comprised of the most hardcore GCW fans. Yet for someone reason Effy and Allie Katch were given 25 minutes to put on this NXT cosplay trainwreck and likely will again. Who are these two for?"
"Effy and Allie had a very unlucky circumstance with their former match coming into this, you'd think that would make them want to put on a show to make up for what was lost but you'd unfortunately be very wrong, neither of them did anything stellar or even decent through this match, with this potentially being allies last match before her id signing becomes a full contract I hope she's able to improve as she's usually a far better wrestler, effy is hopefully able to get back to what he usually is and wont let this match stop him from continuing to be a good independent circuit runner"
[8.0] "Honestly not sure what the issue the other comments have here, this was a solid end for Katch in GCW. They really sold the conflicted nature of both putting offence on the other. Neither of them wanted to truly destroy each other but knew they had to put an end to it, which is storytelling 101. It didn't need to be more brutal than it was, that would be suffering for suffering sake."

They tried to tell their story theyve been building for years, and it completely fell flat in front of a crowd that was exhausted 4 hours into it. The length of this match is the worst part by far. They could have cut a good 20 minutes off and still get the point across, but the last parts of the match just DRAGGED."

They're trying to act like it was the most brutal match you've ever seen when in reality the two wrestlers barely hitting each other for 90% of the match and as they hesitate to person after person runs in to zero pop. It was slow, cringy, and some of the worst "violence" you'll ever see. And yes you read that right, it was over 25 minutes long. In one word, "torture" and not for the people in the ring."
