[9.0] "This match is very good professional wrestling and when you add the context, it's only more impressive."

[6.0] "With bigger kayfabe stakes there's a chance this match-up could've been really good, but this mid-card TV offering was mostly just alright. They had a decent enough story of HBK, being the larger wrestler, getting to wear Mysterio down and work him over, while Mysterio got to sell and then hit all his flashy and agile comeback spots. The issue was that their chemistry wasn't that impressive (though mostly still fine) and that neither guy really did enough to come across as truly captivating with either their in-ring work or their character work. It was basically like they were both on auto-pilot mode. They started with a nice series of stalemate trades before the match picked up with Mysterio's high-flying spots, with there initially being a cool idea of him overcommitting on some of them and thus allowing HBK to take advantage and punish him. Unfortunately, HBK's control work never looked that intense or aggressive, as he mostly just went through his array of generic beatdown work and then bigger individual attacks without any real intensity behind them, and he also often oversold Mysterio's bigger moves to the point that he came off bumbling and clown-like, which was annoying. At the same time it never felt like we truly saw Mysterio's fiery or sympathetic babyface side, with him instead likewise just going through the motions as he absorbed HBK's offence and then responded with his own. Mysterio's match-winning comeback as he avoided the Sweet Chin Music to set up the 619 was technically well-executed, but it again felt like Mysterio was solely focussed on hitting all those movements as quickly as possible without taking time to show his character so that he felt more compelling, while HBK continued to melodramatically sell for all of it. It's a shame because there's nothing outright bad here (aside from HBK's hokey selling) and a decent enough story, but just too much work that isn't as good as it should be. ***"

[7.0] "A good tribute to the legacy and life of Eddie Guerrero. Shawn plays the role of a bigger wrestler here with Mysterio as the smaller guy. They have good chemistry with one another, and Rey's sudden 619 and victory was a good end of a pretty solid match and tribute as well."

[3.0] "[1.75*] Oh wow that was kinda of a bad match imo, what makes this bad is Shawn Michaels it's just the way he turn things out lacked some realistic, the way he sells also is not really good but I can't say it's too bad tho, ray did just some moves and the match ended I'd say this is a bad match."

"Just like the previous match this is more or less the best you can expect in these circumstances. They didn't have long for a cold match. I think Michaels did everything he could to make Rey look good."

[5.0] "I thought it was fine? I'm not the biggest fan of melodrama in wrestling but it wouldve definitely helped. While this was a tribute match for Eddie, it never really felt like it at times. Not much to bite off and it just felt like the match was going through dull motions. Had they milked how much the match meant to both, I feel like Id enjoy the end product way more. As it was, still fundamentally sound but nothing Id remember. In contrast, other tribute match like Bret/Benoit for instance was memorable for more than one reason."

[9.0] "Best match on the tribute show, a very emotional bout between two professionals who respect each other and who had histories with Guerrero. There was no hatred between the wrestlers in the match, it was a match to honor Eddie who left this world, with references in his honor and just quality wrestling."

[7.0] "This was a pretty good match between Mysterio and Michaels. The action was technically sound, and the match was enjoyable and did not overstay its welcome. That being said, this being basically an exhibition match wrestled in tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero ensured that there wasn't anything really compelling about it outside of that fact. Definitely watch this if you are a fan of either or both of the match's competitors. ***1/4"

[8.0] "This was a dream match, as Shawn Michaels takes on Rey Mysterio on Eddie's tribute show. As expected This match was great , with plenty of excitement, and Rey ducking out of HBK's Sweet Chin Music attempt before getting the win after the 619. ****."
