[8.0] "This was A LOT of fun. Eagles and Fujita work so well together, Eagles in particular is so damn smooth, but the MVP for me was Robbie X. This was, I believe, only my second match of his (and the first was the 7 Minute 4 way tag from Dash on January 5th) and he's deceptively athletic. I mean no shade and no offence, but his body type would normally make me believe he's more of a striker/powerhouse of the Junior division, but no. His agility and athleticism is off the charts. This match never slowed down for the 15 minute run time and had some really nice combinations in the last few minutes especially. Hell of a match and glad they got the spotlight of the semi main of the anniversary show."
[8.0] "Robbie & Ishimori continue to look really solid as a tag team and get the win here to start their reign. The sweet boys are good workers but I don't feel anything towards them as a team so I'm fine with the switch. A very good match, and much needed when a HoT member is in the main... ****"
[8.0] "Such a fun match with some great spots throughout with a well told story that ended in one of my favourite moments of the year so far. This match was such a great display of Junior heavyweight tag wrestling with a great mix of Big dives, heavy strikes and some nice submissions and counters. Eagles and Fujita put on a great showing in this with big spells of control throughout the match with some heavy strikes and some nice tag wrestling. Fujita was great towards the end as him and Robbie went at it. Unbound were so good in this match it was great. Ishimori was really good and backed up Robbie throughout he hit so many big dives and hit some great moves to swing the momentum. But god Robbie X was the star in this match for me fighting from underneath to earn his stripes and the biggest win of his career. The man was excllent as he has been every time i have watched him both in person and on stream. Everything he does was so fucking crisp and clean the the section at the end with Fujita really was superb stuff with so many cool spots and i was so happy when he hit the X express for the 3. Overall a really fun 15 minute sprint which had loads of great high spots but had enough character and story to avoid just being a standard spot fest. (****)"
[7.0] "****1/2 Great match, a somewhat underrated fight, they reached the level of their Super Jr Tag League match, great chemistry, these two teams work excellently, very great sequences, very good intensity, great constant pace, although not as frantic as it started calmer and made a great escalation in the final minutes, great ending, great sequences that end with Robbie X applying the Spiral Tab to win the Jr Tag Team titles"

[8.0] "A very fun moves match complete with all the flips and dips to be expected of top level Junior Heavyweights. Nicely performed with a good narrative of Robbie X fighting from the bottom to earn his stripes and win his first title in the big one... and then the poor guy gets killed in the post-match. Enjoyable watch all around."

I'm so thrilled to see Robbie X gain more traction in NJPW and teaming with Ishimori gave him that extra boost for this championship opportunity against the formidable, Ichiban Sweet Boys. Both teams are familiar to their action able to predicate their offense and had some solid moments that caught me off guard i.e. Robbie X going for his backflip double kick which is perfectly caught by Fujita in a wheelbarrow suplex! I'm shocked and excited to see X & Ishimori win the tag championship and the post-match brawl by United Empire setting up next challengers. Hopefully they have a good showing with the gold."
[8.0] "This was non-stop rapid-fire action from soup to nuts and while they never quite found that MOTYC next level, it was thoroughly enjoyable and finished strongly at the right time ***3/4"
[6.0] "This was perfectly alright but I couldn't see anything more than that. It's like basically every modern NJPW match up and down the card, where it's 50/50 'your turn, my turn' the whole time between the teams, with the obligatory contrived multi-man spots and sequences thrown in. I won't deny that the athleticism, speed, and strong chemistry on display was impressive, but for the most part I just couldn't buy into how predictable the match was. Fujita and Eagles would hit some nice stuff, then X and Ishimori, then Fujita and Eagles again, then back to X and Ishimori. There wasn't a single spec of storytelling here apart from the absolutely bottom of the barrel "wow look how evenly matched these teams are! ", as both teams just mindlessly took each other to their limits from start to finish. Even the character work was very forgettable and samey, with both teams displaying more or less the exact same levels of confidence and determination that you'd see from them in any random match. I still liked most of the stuff they went for, and there were at least a handful of moments that were indeed really good, but this was mostly just more of the same sort of NJPW junior-style action I've seen many times before, with the exact same boring structure. ***"
[9.0] "This was a fantastic match, should have been the main event over that HoT circlejerk. Robbie Eagles man, what can you say? The man is Mr. Consistent for New Japan, he never disappoints. The MVP of this match however was Robbie X who's really showing he can be a mainstay in the Jr. Division for years to come, not only is he athletic as hell but he is a character and can really show fire and communicate a lot with his facial expressions. This one took a bit to get going but once it did it was nonstop, just what a Jr. Heavyweight tag match should be. Thank GOD these four men showed up with their working boots, otherwise this show would have been a dud."

[9.0] "This FLEW out of the gates; I'm genuinely not sure I've ever seen a tag-match opening like this, and I loved it despite not thriving in the realism department. The tempo remained high throughout, and the combination of great high-flying, striking, and submission offence was really satisfying. Robbie X is sensational in this type of match and produced some great moments - absolutely the MVP and I'm delighted to see him with a belt around his waist. Fujita was also incredible. What a damn match."

Of course, a lack of meaningful selling is to be had when working at such a frenetic pace and that limits this for me but simply as a fun match? This certainly works. JAY & Akira attack the new champs post match, staking their claim for the titles. ***1/2."
