[5.0] "The match was a little slow for my tastes, as AJ Lee showed signs of ring rust and Becky was not able to get her into the flow of the match. Overall pacing of the match felt choppy and disjointed in places. Not happy with the decision to crown a new champion here, as I felt it would be better for both to wait until Mania for the title change. Overall a fairly average match, but one that does not sit well with me. Rating: 5/10."

[3.0] ""AJ Lee didn't have a single match for many years", yeah, it shows. How is possible then that she won against someone who is constantly at the top (and who also tried to cheat)? Does it mean that the top women at WWE are actually not that good? I don't know. But I've found this match nothing special, with many botched spots and a result that to me doesn't make much sense."

[8.0] "[4 stars] Better than expected, especially considering AJ Lee hasn't wrestled a single match in so long, beginning was pretty boring and it seemed like it was going to be a mediocre match, but they managed to pick the pace fairly well and tell a compelling story with some decent wrestling, the overbooking doesn't bother me and in fact elevated the match in my opinion. Great showing from AJ coming back and Becky as well, as good as it could be considering the situation."

AJ is not who she was back in 2012-2014 and Becky carried hard the match, sadly the title changed hands I would prefer becky dropping the title to someone that can actual benefit from the title and do something with it not another part timer champion hopefully she is a transitional champion and drops the title soon. Nostalgia is nice but we need to build stars for the future."

I Hope for a rematch at WrestleMania where Becky takes the championship back WHAT A GREAT MATCH"

Not sure why the hell this wasn't built for mania when it's right around the corner or what the hell either do at mania now. Soooo very weird decesion to have it here and not mania. (***1/2)"

[7.0] "This match is not an all timer by any means, I've though AJ looked pretty green in her last two participations but tonight she definitely looked a lot more fluid. This was a mostly technical match throughout with some solid spots and it stayed that way pretty much until the final third. That's where it kinda lost me, the ref bump was cheap and didn't do much for the match other than show that apparently part timer + hometown is an insane buff (AJ kicked out of a chair shot + manhandle slam combo in deep waters) so that's that. Ultimately AJ winning makes sense for the time frame, she'll likely drop the title at mania. I honestly think people in the IWC just like shitting on former divas cause it's easy. That era was what it was, but it's over. You have the divas that were able to adapt (like Naomi) and the ones that didn't (most dont work at WWE anymore). I'm not saying AJ Lee is a top in-ring talent but I think some people are definitely going out of their way to call this a full Becky carry and be extra harsh on what was at worst an ok match. Yea the build was not great, but that's the case for many stories in modern WWE. ***.5"

I understand people have admiration and nostalgia for AJ Lee but this did not need to be on PPV. She is a boring wrestler that is essentially outclassed by anyone on the main roster at this time. More diva's era nostalgia slop from the WWE, horrendous."

Perfunctory pro wrestling with some stupidity thrown in like the ref putting the turnbuckle pad back on so she could be involved in a spot but then never going back to put the pad back on again. Both women are so painfully average. Becky might be one of the most overpushed wrestlers of all time. **1/2"

AJ Lee is their for a hometown that never comes. The crowd couldnt have cared less and you cant blame them. Awful work by awful wrestlers. Move on from the worst feud in wrestling please."

AJ was slow and sloppy from start to finish, the whole referee bump spot was rubbish, and everything involving the chair missed completely. AJ should not be kicking out of the man-handle slam and has absolutely no right tapping-out Becky Lynch in 2026."

LuminousPink wrote on 03.03.2026:
[3.0] "Ridiculous that AJ won. She has now had only three forgettable matches since her return to WWE over five months ago and is nowhere near deserving of even being in a title match, let alone winning one. That's without even mentioning how boring this match was. AJ clearly is not given enough time to train and prepare for this type of match, and it shows. doesn't help as well that Becky hasn't really been impressing me much as well lately, since her feud with Lyra ended tbh."
[5.0] "OK match and definitely a good showing for AJ, someone who hasn't wrestled a singles match so 2015. It was actually going pretty well, and then there's a very unnecessary ref bump which didn't even have an impact on the match apart from the fact that it hurt the momentum. I also wish Becky sold the black widow better because it looks awful."
humanedragon wrote on 02.03.2026:
[6.0] "I thought it was solid. Both women did a good job at making a slow buildup to the ultimate finish after a lot of slow, painful grinding in submission holds and hard blows. There did seem to be a bit of ring rust with AJ Lee but like this is her first singles in over a decade and I think her third or fourth match in the last decade so I'm willing to be patient with that. Overall, not bad, and a pretty shocking ending. 6/10"

[5.0] "[2.5*] Honestly, this one was better than I expected. I'm a huge fan of Becky as a wrestler, but unfortunately her character has been pretty... weird? During this feud and I didn't know what to expect. The whole rivalry is a mess and the segments are awful, but AJ really surprised me positively here with her workrate. It was her first singles match in a decade and she did pretty damn well. Also, obvious props to Becky, she's probably the best on the roster when it comes to receiving and putting over talents that were away from action. The in-ring portion of this match was good and I'd give it a 6.0, but the whole ref bump thing was badly executed and Jessica Carr looked like a moron, so I took some points because of that. It's still a super decent overall product!"

[5.0] "As much as I am a fan of Becky everything she has done since the Lyra feud ended I have been pretty much allergic to. Her character and promos have become complete and utter cringe, her parody of Trump character feels completely tone deaf. Parodying Trump in 2017 was funny, parodying him now has long lost its humor because reality is more absurd and scary then anything fiction can come up with now. And her ring work has regressed to the point she hasn't had a match I have enjoyed since the triple threat at Evolution. I don't like to say this but maybe its time to start the conversation that Becky is washed because she is on the current worst run of her career in ring and character wise. AJ Lee on the other hand is having a very underwhelming return run. She reminds me of Saraya's run in AEW. She was ahead of her peers in her time but wrestling has totally past her by. These two didn't have good chemistry and the pace of the match was way to slow and was at least 5 minutes too long. Becky's recent matches all suffer from being bloated and this was another. Added crowd being dead and over booked finish. Hopefully this is a one and done for this program and everyone moves on to something new."

[4.0] "As much as I like AJ Lee, I feel like she should've just got a few more singles reps in before being given this spectacle. It's hard immersion-wise for her to be dominating Becky Lynch like this. Becky did good work, but the feud didn't warrant this."
sdenapoli wrote on 02.03.2026:
[6.0] "Considering this was her first singles match in almost 11 years, AJ did a good job here. However, Becky was the real MVP of this match, proving that she can be a ring general when needed. While there was a bit too much nonsense at the end, it was nice to see AJ get a moment in front of her adopted home town."
2violent4tv wrote on 02.03.2026:
[4.0] "This match was supposed to be about AJ Lee's return. That's the money. That's the story. That's what people paid to see. Instead, somehow, it turned into being about Becky Lynch and her personal issue with the referee. Why? So Becky doesn't have to lose clean? That's backwards booking. You've got AJ Lee coming back, a natural underdog, a woman the audience already wants to rally behind. The story writes itself. She's been away, she's got something to prove, she's fighting from underneath, clawing, scratching, surviving. The people get behind her. You build sympathy, you build drama and you either make her triumphant or you have her fall short in a way that makes people want to see the rematch. It's simple. Wrestling 101. But that kind of match requires effort. It requires workrate. It requires pacing, selling, escalation. Instead, they went with shenanigans. Ref distractions, side drama, smoke and mirrors. Now the focus isn't on AJ's comeback. It's not on the struggle. It's not on the competition. It's on protecting Becky Lynch from taking a clean loss like that's somehow going to shatter the foundations of the company. If you don't want somebody to lose clean, don't book the match. But don't hijack what should've been a feel-good return story just to protect a top star's "aura". That's how you turn a potentially hot angle into something people shrug at the next morning."
Some Guy wrote on 01.03.2026:
[3.0] "Mediocre match for the women's IC title. AJ is simply not good anymore and Becky tries but she can only do so much. This was merely boring then all of the shenanigans happened and it got laughably bad. Really awkward ref bump that she had to lay there selling for what felt like an eternity. AJ gets Becky tap out to the Black Widow, the ref doesn't see it. Everything with the chair was a mess. Dumb finish with the ref actively preventing Becky from using the exposed turnbuckle then after Becky runs into it herself gets put in another Black Widow and taps out again. AJ is the new champion and this is such an unnecessary title change, but they're in Chicago so they wanted to make the crowd happy. This sucked. 3/10"
Ryanclarkiscool wrote on 01.03.2026:
[3.0] "This match sucked. AJ Lee is still a below average wrestler, and some spots were sloppy. The ref spot was even more stupid than usual. I maybe would've been fine with AJ's win if she was a full time wrestler. At least Becky will probably win it back at Mania."
dhruboezit wrote on 01.03.2026:
[6.0] "Not a bad match but definitely didn't belong on a PLE let alone a major one like Elimination Chamber. Its somewhat like a good RAW main event. Nothing special action wise, Becky Lynch carried her the whole match. Its incredible how they refer to AJ Lee as some sort of a "legend" ... no idea how she elevated women's wrestling or changed anything backstage by winning that butterfly Diva's reality TV title once, same thing with Nikki Bella. AJ Lee is horribly mediocre and a nostalgia act feeding off of her husband's fame. and then ... of course she won in her "hometown" by Hulking up LMFAO. Giving the IC title, a stepping stone, to a boring, larping part-timer nostalgia act who can barely wrestle or has any mic skills is a great decision."
SmackdownVsRaw05OST wrote on 01.03.2026:
[3.0] "The only reaction I got from this was: Poor Jessica, taking two ref bumps. And also ignoring the fact this match has very little highlights, there was a botched DDT where AJ missed the chair completely and both Becky and AJ running into each other just to pause awkwardly for two seconds. I liked when the ref stopped Becky from using the exposed turnbuckle but Becky then runs into the turnbuckle, I assume AJ was supposed to be in the corner ready to move but she was no where near it so it just made Becky look like a complete moron as opposed to a heel who's way in over her head. So AJ is now champion, now I'll only be ok with this if AJ defends it regularly like Carmelo Hayes does. Or at least defends it on PPV's regularly like Cody, Drew and Punk did. Because I was a little disappointed that AJ Lee returned just to have PPV matches and barely showed up on RAW. And when she does defend it, it better be better than this piss poor bout."

[4.0] "I have a few issues with this match. One Becky Lynch gimmick at this moment is very awful. I get it, she's an obnoxious heel, but. It gets to a point where something runs its course. AJ Lee had her first singles match since 2015, but she was very clunky and had some mishaps, which hapepns but I felt like she should've had some reps in, like some matches on RAW to get the in-ring rust off. But this match was very average to me there was a lot of miscues, a lot of botches, and Becky Lynch botched a chair spot twice. It was a mess in my opinion, but do I think they can have a better match at WrestleMania? Maybe if AJ Lee gets some reps in because those matter, it helps the wrestler get back in the swing of things, as it adds a lot of needed confidence. But the match started getting a little entertaining once AJ Lee was back in the ring with the referee back up as she started ramming away this is when I knew AJ Lee was going to win she's in Chicago she is going to get another major Chicago moment as she locked in the Black Widow to submit Becky Lynch to win her 1st Mid-Card Title in WWE, and her title win in almost twelve years this was a major moment as the crowd erpted. I always enjoyed AJ Lee, just want her to get some reps. But I'm happy she got her moment, but now we know a AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch II will take place at the Showcase of the Immortals at WrestleMania."

[7.0] "Not perfect by any means but a good match. Becky led and took the majority of the match but AJ looked, at least in my opinion, pretty good. My main complaint is the ref stuff. I genuinely abhor the inconsistency we get with turnbuckle stuff, sometimes the ref will try to put it back on, sometimes they'll leave it. If they're going to continue to book Carr to be against Becky cheating it has to lead to something between the two, and I doubt that happens. I look forward to what I assume is a rematch at Mania with a stip."
celticinvader wrote on 01.03.2026:
[4.0] "Sets up an interesting story of Becky wanting to out wrestle AJ Lee, using her actual ten year ring rust as part of the narrative. Unfortunately it abandons that in an attempt to prove AJ Lee has "still got it" by wrestling a completely different style to the scrappy underdog one she developed for years, ultimately resulting in a bog standard "heel tries shenanigans but is ultimately unsuccessful against the triumphant babyface" match that's super disappointing given the names involved."

AJ seems emotionally shaken from the start, so I personally feel that a certain weight has been lifted from her shoulders at the end of the match. I'm happy for her, but I also don't want to forget that Becky Lynch played her part in the events in a highly professional manner."

Michael Cole is bad. Becky can do much better and this arrogant hell persona of her husband is pretty boring to watch here. AJ has lost so much of her appeal, her punches are weak, her instincts seem off. some nice ideas like the corner kick only working the first time and the corner thing. First the ref is hit in the corner, that was nosold and then you get a different ref bump? Momentum swings for no reason. False finish didn't work for me. So many moments make you just say "What was that". This match is what is to be expected at my local wrestling school not the biggest company in the world."

[8.0] "I really enjoyed this contest, though I went in with some trepidation due to the lack of chemistry we saw during the Black Widow spot at Wrestlepalooza. Unfortunately, those concerns were somewhat validated, as the biggest miscue of the night was indeed the Black Widow; the execution lacked fluidity and felt a bit unpolished. There were a few other sequences where it was hard to tell if they were genuine botches or just awkward transitions, but to their credit, they recovered well and didn't let the momentum stall. The opening sequence was particularly impressive. I've always maintained that AJ's bumping and selling are criminally underrated. Given her smaller frame, she has this incredible ability to put over her opponents and make them look like absolute powerhouses. Considering this was AJ's first singles match since her return, she looked to be in great ring shape. Her workrate was high, her movements were crisp, and you can really see her ring generalship in how she handles specific transitions. I have no doubt that if she had stayed with WWE and worked with this new generation of elite talent earlier, her career as a worker would have reached an entirely new level.Becky also put in a solid performance. While the booking of this program hasn't sat well with everyone, the match itself met my expectations. I'm willing to overlook some of the plodding or clunky exchanges for the sake of the overall narrative. Ultimately, this match makes me optimistic about AJ's future in-ring run. I'm giving it some 'nostalgia points, ' and I'm hopeful we'll see a strong storyline develop as we head toward WrestleMania"
