"Gabe Kidd had to work hard on the outside to get the crowd to forget that he scuttled out for his entrance like a beetle. He needs to learn something for America that isn't chopping. This much is very clear. You ain't Gunther. You are just some bald dude. They already jumped right to it."
[5.0] "This was done to build Kidd up for an AEW audience more than anything else, and I do think the decision to mostly squash Cassidy here, who is probably Kidd's polar opposite in terms of character, was a good one. I kind of still don't like the Kidd character (or lack thereof, I guess) buthe wrestles as a compelling vicious heel when given the chance. It's fine filler to setup up Kidd for Darby, but not much more."
[7.0] "I would say this is a pretty big win for Kidd but it just doesn't feel it because he was obviously going over when he has a singles match at Revolution with Darby. Cassidy needs some direction with his character desperately."
[6.0] "Didn't cheered up so much about that match. Gabe Kidd had a serious trouble into really recognize what is good for him and what is not. I am not even an defender of that theory, but an mutual on X already said that his match with Omega completelly ruined his concept of wrestling and how he should see himself as a wrestler, and so far he is proving it right. His ring style got cheered up by the crowd, his goofy and nonsense acts to play the "tough" dog or any shit he is trying to be, don't work at all. Orange Cassidy was pretty good here, best individual act in a while."
[8.0] "Cassidy and Kidd have good chemistry and played off each other really well - the lackadaisical style of Cassidy against the aggressive charge of Kidd. Didn't expect Kidd to win this one, even with the help of pulling the ref in front of him to defend himself."
[6.0] "This was solid. I have my issues with Gabe but i thought he was solid here. He's still way too over the top for me and that definitely hurt the match slightly but his work was solid here and of course he had OC to bounce off of here who can have a solid match with anyone basically. An enjoyable match overall, even if i dont really care for this feud. ***"
[5.0] "A much-needed comfortable win for Gabe Kidd in which he got to showcase his striking and heel-work against a solid opponent in Cassidy. Given his AEW run hasn't been great, it's nice to see him build some momentum before what feels like an inevitable loss to Darby. Despite being unproblematic, it would be an exaggeration to regard this as anything particularly good. No more than a solid mid-card contest that holds very little significance to the bigger picture."
[8.0] "I rated it a 7.5, Orange Cassidy hit the stage to a huge ovation, with fans waving mock "Wanted" posters for Roderick Strong after his recent betrayal, but the mood shifted fast when Gabe Kidd entered to a colder reaction that turned into heavy boos the moment, he started dismantling OC. The crowd never let Kidd breathe heckling him with "Bald" chants while he leaned fully into the role of unhinged bully, even smashing his own head into the turnbuckles in a wild display of madness. The match was a physical showcase, highlighted by Kidd's brutal high stack powerbomb into a knee strike and side suplex, while Orange fired back with a suicide dive, a diving crossbody from the top, and a sharp PK that kept the near falls coming. Cassidy's selling of Kidd's right hand made every shot feel lethal, and a simple shove sending Orange, crashing from the top rope to the floor added to the sense that Kidd was in complete control. It ended emphatically when Gabe spiked Orange with a jumping piledriver for the pin, a statement win that the relentlessly hostile crowd absolutely loved to hate."
[6.0] "Gabe Kidd just comes off as so cringe to me. I can't take Gabe Kidd seriously with this awful character he has and it effects his performances in AEW specifically, imo. The quality is there but nothing special here. I'm just hoping they do Darby and Orange against Gabe and Clark at revolution and get this over with. I have zero interest in seeing this still."
[6.0] "Orange Cassidy had the crowd behind him, but I'm kinda glad he didn't pick up the win. Gabe Kidd is made be taken seriously with how brash his character is. So this was a good win for Gabe Kidd. I do think at AEW Revolution, he'll have a match with Darby Allin in some fun stipulation being attached to it. I believe that Gabe Kidd is someone who I think will fully be All Elite once his New Japan Contract ends."
[7.0] "Orange Cassidy had the fans behind him from start to finish with his usual antics, Gabe hit hard, and once they got moving with the action - it was a smooth match. Nothing too special, but a perfectly good TV match. Post match Clark Connors came to help Gabe beat down OC more, Darby made the save, continuing their feud. 7/10"
[6.0] "Kidd and Cassidy's recent performances didn't particularly interest me, but this somewhat unusual match struck me as interesting in its writing. Cassidy comes across as a bit weak, but it establishes Kidd as a significant threat in a rivalry with Darby Allin that, unfortunately, isn't very compelling at the moment. In-ring quality: 1.5/4. Stakes: 0.5/2. Justification: 0.75/1. Card placement: 1/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 5.75/10. Match watched on Triller TV."
[3.0] "Bit of a silly match this one, less than adequate for what should have been a perfect opportunity to put Gabe Kidd (and Clark Connors) over as an unhinged threat, but it was wasted. In Orange Cassidy, you have the perfect conduit in to do so. A fan-favourite who quite often takes matches frivolously and hence is ripe for getting brutalised in a squash or near-squash without burying his character; only to return later with a more serious attitude. Two good options to get Gabe over here as a threat, one would be Orange acting a fool and getting squashed; the other being Orange taking him deadly serious and the two of them breaking even with a victory either way; the worst option was the one they chose, Orange acting a fool and still coming close. And in the end, Gabe and Connors were still run off with their tails between their legs while the commentator claiming 'this feud is far from over' - well, by looks of it, regardless of the match result, the feud (and threat) looked pretty much over. What else is there to see from these losers, these supposed "War Dogs"..?"
[7.0] "Fairly good TV match. I'm not a big Gabe Kidd guy but he threw some nice slaps in here at least. Orange is always fun and I was bummed to see him lose, though I expected it."
[6.0] "6.5 - Gabe Kidd, as Schiovane said, is one of the hardest hitters in AEW now. He smacked OC around and as with all the other matches, the crowd were behind the babyface."
[5.0] "[2.5*] I didn't care for the match and Gabe's act is just too much corny for me. I started laughing when he headbutted the turnbuckle trying to look like a tough guy or something. I know people say they're tired of OC's schticks but my favorite parts of the match were when he was doing them. Darby's post match attack was cool and they'll probably do Darby and OC vs Gabe and Connors on Revolution."
[5.0] "Gabe is the man but damn Orange is just not for me. The stupid spots ruin every single match. The only redeemable thing here was that Gabe spiked his ass with that piledriver and ended it quick."
[8.0] "Great offense from Gabe Kidd in this match. Orange Cassidy in his usual position as underdog with nice counters. I liked the end, Gabe Kidd needed a win like this to present him in AEW better as a menace."
[7.0] "A good match, but that was basically all Orange Cassidy here. Something about AEW Gabe Kidd does little for me, even as he's ramped the dog-isms way up. The strikes were good here, and I loved OC's comeback and reversal of the piledriver. Simple heel finish, not much more to say. ***1/4"
[6.0] "***. This was okay but never got into any kind of special gear for me. Looks like Orange/Darby vs. War Dogs in a tornado rag at Revolution. Orange and Darby have always been a fun occasional tag team. This particular match was fine, but lost in the shuffle of some really high quality matches."
[6.0] "Solid one here, I think the OC formula has become very stale but both guys worked hard here despite this being pretty straight forward. Gabe is hit or miss, but his moves looked killer in this one. Shocked to see Gabe win with no BS, but this helped build him up well"
