[7.0] "A good way to open the PPV. Furnas and Lafon were a good tag team in Japan, but they never amounted to much in the WWF unfortunately. But this was a good way to start them out, even if they did drop the ball down the line."
[4.0] "A fine traditional Survivor Series tag-team match that was hindered by bad wrestlers getting more time than they needed and the awkward overuse of the distracted referee trope. Any time one of Owen, Davey, LaFon or Phineas weren't in the ring, the match really dragged along, but when they were the last four remaining it really picked up and made you wish this was just a normal tag-team match all along."
[8.0] "Impactful debut from Furnas and LeFon getting the upset win on the Tag Champs on their debut and it was certainly a good showcase for them as their offense looked unique and they also faced a disadvantage when they was down 3 on 2 at one point. Once it gets to the 2 best teams in the match Furnas and LaFon vs Owen and Davey, things do really pick up and it becomes a great technical match. JR taking shots at Havey Wippleman on commentary was really funny as well."
[6.0] "It was so so for the first half, but once Owen and Bulldog were left in the ring with Furnas and LaFon it really picked up the speed and they made me wish that it was a normal Tag Team Match since the beginning. LaFon showed some nice selling and impressive moves, while Furnas had one of the best hot tags I've ever seen and rightfully picked up the win. Pleasant surprise."
[5.0] "This was a cluster fuck until we got down to the 2 best teams in the match. Furnas & Lafon are an underrated tag team and they showed how great they are here."
[7.0] "This was a fun elimination match that avoided a lot of the usual Survivor Series match issues (except the Henry Godwinn elimination to a spin kick). The Godwinns didnt do much but Phineas had a couple fun power moments before they got eliminated. Jannetty and Cassidy were both fun as the obnoxious goofballs of their team and Cassidy especially had some nice moments of toughness that I didnt expect him to show here and some really nice clotheslines. Once the match got down to the Furnas/LaFon/Owen/Bulldog it really picked up and the crowd started getting into it. The ending established Furnas & LaFon as contenders for the tag titles and they stood out as unique compared to everyone else in the match with their unique mix of suplexes and strikes. The ending also felt important with the debuting team getting a win and, even if it didnt play out this way, it felt like there were big plans for Furnas and LaFon. ***1/2"
[6.0] "JR still taking shots at McMahon at this point. We got evil Leif Cassidy here, starting to transition to Al Snow in looks. JR bashes Jannetty who is still acting like a moron and this would be his last WWF ppv. Henry tries roping Jannetty but his leg gives out, possible legit injury? Or he's just screwing up? Henry hits the slop drop and Jannetty is gone. Owen runs in and pops Henry with the spin wheel kick and pins him. Phineos gets "riled up" but Bulldog sends him packing just under a minute later with a power slam. Furnas and Lafon against Owen/Bulldog and Cassidy. JR is having a fit that new referee Harvey Whippleman isn't doing dick about the heels cheating. Furnas gets beat up as the heels tag in and out on him. Cassidy sends Furnas into the corner but misses the charge and hits the corner, hot tag to Lafon and he puts Cassidy up top and just splatters him with a reverse vertical suplex and gets an easy pin. Bulldog takes over on Lafon, giving him a sky high drop. Owen in, a falling neck breaker and a second rope elbow drop gets two. Bulldog in and Lafon tries fighting back but Davey kicks him in the nuts. Owen and Bulldog try a double clothesline but during the rope run Owen gets pulled out and Lafon gets a crucifix pin on Davey to send him packing. Owen works over Lafons left leg, specifically the hamstring. Furnas hot tags and almost sidelines Owen with a release german suplex that almost breaks his neck. Furnas gets the pin and his team survives. Good opener."
[6.0] "The debut here of Furnas and LaFon, who had had success in Japan but never really made it in America. They were talented wrestler but got lost in the shuffle here. The Godwinns were predictably awful, the New Rockers predictably average until Marty hurt his knee, and Owen and the Bulldog could have done this in their sleep - I'm not entirely sure Davey Boy wasn't half asleep to be honest. It wasn't a bad match, Survivor Series matches rarely are as there's always something happening, but it wasn't particularly exciting either."
[8.0] "Sehr cooles Survivor Series Match.
[9.0] "More impressive than expected, especially in the finishing stretch where the match just gets great. Owen and Furnas going at it in the final moments is simply awesome. Good order of elimination as well, helped the match build as it went on. Furnas and LaFon are practically forgotten now but they shouldn't be, they are really excellent."
Insgesamt okay (** 1/2)."
[5.0] "It was a long match, but not a good one. The disparity between the two teams showed a focus on the Face team, which was technically worse. Owen Hart and British Bulldog had a great performance, but they deserved to get a better result. The ending is okay but it did not satisfy me. A bit more than adequate. **1/2"
) nie so ganz durchsetzen konnte.
