John Cena vs. The Great Khali

[7.0] "I love that Cena comes out without a smile and more focused than usual knowing his task is tall, good facial expression work. Cena is amazing at selling Khali's offense and making him look great. Such as taking a huge bump from the top rope to the outside, ouch! It took the best of their previous 2 matches and combined them together. This time though they fought around the arena and Cena's comeback moments were well done. The ending was great, seeing Cena finally F-U Khali was INSANE and off a crane no less. Great match!"

[8.0] "The matches cena had with khali is definitely one of the more remarkable feats in cena's career. Being able to create a spectacle this engaging with a guy who youd think would be impossible to have a good match with is just entirely impressive. A lot of great moments in this match and one Ill always enjoy"

[3.0] "I think this match is pretty bad. I don't want to be too harsh because I know Khali is limited but you do the first PPV match with these two and its fine, Cena had to do alot of heavy lifting, it wasn't too long and is very simple. This match is the last match except there's a big bump at the end. Does nothing for me, because it also doesn't feel like Cena is ever in danger of losing."

[8.0] "2007 was the year where John cena was in his bag as the face of the company. He didnt miss when it came to big matches this year. You know how good you have to be to get a good match out of great khali? One of the more underrated matches in Cenas catalogue. ***3/4"

[6.0] "It wasn't too long which benefited both guys in this one. You could buy that Khali was able to beat John for that long and John to still be able to find the strength to pick Khali up. The AA of the crane was a good finish as well."

[8.0] "One of my favourite Cena matches, Reminds me alot of Inoki's matches with big brawlers/powerhouses. This was the match that made me realize that Cena was a seriously good wrestler and its alot of fun."

[4.0] "There's no improvement from their Judgment Day match. It's another time that Cena tries to carry it by bumping for Khali and doing some impressive moves on the big man, but it's not that interesting. The whole match is just there for the final spot, which doesn't even look that great since you can't seen Khali's landing."

[4.0] "The apparently only decent Khali match, was just a full carry by Cena. Seriously, when you thought about a limited wrestler better think twice cause Khali was another think. John move around the giant, try and try to get the upper hand as well as the AA, took huge bumps, sold after every offensive move, took adventage of his environment, his opponent mistakes, and even went "whatever it takes" with a poked to the eyes at the end. It's an example of a super hero overcoming the odds but without really much payoff, he did it all by himself. **"

[5.0] "You know you suck when your commonly considered best ever match is still only mediocre. Cena is a real god here managing to get a match this quality out of the Great bumbling Khali. Its not great or really bad, just serviceable. A fun camera spot and a badass FU off a crane are the reasons to watch this match. Cena should be proud of this set of matches."

[6.0] "Cena managing to carry Khali to decent matches might be the best accomplishment of his storied career."

[4.0] "one thing I noticed when watching this match is that Khali is really held back by the fact that wrestling has to take place in a wrestling ring. he actually feels like a somewhat credible threat when he's given significant space to fight in."

[3.0] "There was a lot of nothing happening in this match. It was obvious Cena was selling his butt off to try and make the match suspenseful and help Khali look good, but the entire match was them just slowly making their way through the arena for the obligatory falls count anywhere spots. I don't even find the final spot that interesting. Cena's show of strength is impressive, but it's not that big a deal to me that Khali gets thrown down onto some soft cushy mats. This match wasn't downright terrible by any means, but it's too slow and simplistic. At least they kept it short. I was pretty close to giving this four points, but it bored me to tears so much I couldn't justify it. I'd definitely take their Judgment Day match last month over this one."

[4.0] "Honestly, this match is better than it has any right to be. Now, I do not mean to say that this match is good, or even decent; but, it is a watchable big man vs. little man bout. Kudos to Cena for carrying Khali (who is absolutely hopeless; seriously, his offense is laughably bad) to something resembling a medicore pro wrestling match. **1/4"

[5.0] "Over time this match has earned the nickname of "The Great Khali's best match". I have two considerations to make regarding this statement: were there any doubts? And above all, if this is his best match I don't want to know how the others are. This match was a damn bore until the final spot, which is really impactful and is one of the most famous moments in the history of Extreme Rules. But apart from the final spot it's a terribly slow match with very little imagination as far as the spots are concerned"

[9.0] "John Cena working miracles this match was GREAT! John Cena is an all-time wrestler for this, as bad as Khali is Cena got A great match out of time cementing his status and maybe the greatest of all time."

[7.0] "Like straight outta the 80's, our ACE fights against an absolute monster, gets dominated by that said monster, but finds openings & ultimately conquers him. It's an entertaining - more entertaining than one would expect - title match. Cena sells his ass off & really makes the best out of Khali's limitations with it."

[5.0] "**Ÿ - pretty shit for a main event. Short too. The only thing I'll remember is the end I guess. Cena did sell good"

[6.0] "A match that serves as a testament to just how good Cena is at carrying other wrestlers. Khali is notorious for his awful wrestling abilities but when he's in the ring with Cena, Khali occasionally looks somewhat competent. The AA off the stage was pretty cool."

[6.0] "Fairly better than their Judgment Day match, Cena and Great Khali have a brawl through the crowd and the match ends with Cena FUing Khali off a crane. This one stood out a little more than their previous contest and played more to Khali's strengths. Fairly decent."

[6.0] "Let's face it, Khali is awful. His offense is so shit that even Jim Ross craps all over it. There are two instances where he attempts a kick and completely misses Cena. Cena, with help from the gimmick match stipulation, does everything in his power to get a good match out of what he's been given. He sells Khali's strikes like death and he really puts over Khali as someone not to mess with. Khali doesn't take any big bumps until the end of the match when he eats a FU from a crane to the floor. When people try to defend Cena as a top-tier wrestler, don't use his matches with other great workers like Punk, Bryan, and Cesaro as proof, use this instead. Anyone can have a great match with Daniel Bryan, but it takes a special kind of worker to craft something entertaining with someone as useless as Khali. This is his 'Flair vs broomstick' moment."

[5.0] "This isn't the best match in the world but when you take in the fact that's it's a watchable Khali match that's pretty impressive by Cena. Cena gets his ass kicked match most of the match before making his Babyface comeback with a sick FU to end this.**3/4"

[6.0] "Far better than it had any right to be with Cena putting in a heroic effort to pull a watchable match out of Khali."

[6.0] "It's a testament to Cena's abilities that he could drag something watchable from someone as bad as Khali was, and what we get here is a pretty entertaining and smartly laid out match that works around Khali's limitations. (**3/4)"

He was willing to get his ass kicked for ten minutes before making the comeback. Khali looked much better here in defeat than their match on Judgment Day. ***."
