[8.0] "I really enjoyed this match, Kenny might not be in his prime anymore, but he's still a better wrestler than most of the guys around the world. Andrade is an early Wrestler of the Year Contender, so many good matches he's having in AEW and NJPW too. (****)."
[6.0] "**** A good match, I liked it more than Swerve vs Andrade but I think it could have been a little better. Very good chemistry, they were flowing well and it seemed like they were going to escalate even more. Good sequences, good intensity, hard falls that Kenny took, good rhythm, they were working and it seemed like they were going to escalate further but the somewhat rushed ending, cut short by interference, prevented that escalation. Interesting ending, Andrade wins by the distractions, the low blow and finally using his DM"
"Andrade is one of the most impressive wrestlers today in any facet that a promoter would want a wrestler to be. He's so smooth, he's so cool, his offense is so impactful, he always know where the camera is, he always knows how to fell big time. This is how wrestlers should work when they are put in this positions to deliver like this because that's all he's done so far with the swerve match, this match, and the Hanger match coming up in Australia. Kenny Omega on tv says he's feeling better than he has in a long time and he proved well here that he is definitely ready to be used and he worked like a pro in this match. I was really excited for Kenny V Hanger but they proved me wrong in this match and went with the more unique and interesting choice while also making the subsequent Australia match more predictable. Hell of a match, pumped for Hanger V Andy.****"
[9.0] "Great match that showed a lot about what we can expect for AEW in 2026. Tony Khan would never be able to pull up such a big upset like that one four years ago, for example. He would porbably just tease an face to face and them we would never have that match. The action was pretty simple for what those guys are able to do, but it was still incredible anyways, the simple from Andrade and Omega is still elite tier. Swerve imterference was good, Andrade gimmick interaction with the models (that I guess it was OnlyFans ones lmao) is incredible even tho it is a light version of the Soberano Jr one. Match of the night, great result for Andrade. Beating Swerve and Omega back to back, hope that Hangman will be the next (we wasn't, fuck)."
[7.0] "The week prior to this match, Omega delivered a performance that, from a physical standpoint, appeared very promising; this week the trend continued. For Omega's TV character narratively, this physically invigorated direction suggests that he's recuperated from his abdomen issues, considering it appears that he's no longer continuing the thread of selling that part of his anatomy. I found this match to be really good; it's an athletic showdown incorporating physicality and a momentary limb work tactic, and the overall match felt enhanced by Andrade's charisma. This very much felt like it operated under the boundaries of a television match rather than going out there and producing a match that superseded those limits that AEW has been known to deliver when two wrestlers of this caliber are in a match, but again, this was still very good. I get lost in the sauce in Andrade's matches because, excluding the cheating and DCF involvement, his work makes me forget he's a heel, and the crowd certainly responds to him like he's a face. ***1/2"
[7.0] "Fantastic stuff - a real clash of titans with huge stakes and without a highly predictable conclusion. Despite the interference, I very much enjoyed the finish. I look forward to this being run back, on PPV or otherwise, in the future as both men have more in their locker. After a stop-start return for Andrade over recent months, this run is what he needed to cement him at the top of the card. This didn't hit the heights of Andrade-Swerve, but it was still top TV wrestling."
[8.0] "This was a good match even though none of the two never got in the second Gear given their capabilities, the ending was necessary but it inevitably stank. ***3/4"
[7.0] "Feel pretty similarly to last weeks match of Andrade El Idolo vs Swerve Strickland. It's undoubtedly a great match that full of athleticism and great sequences but it was still missing something. I personally didn't mind the dirty finish, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't uninspired as everyone's motivations were pretty clear and is moving towards something interesting. I think my issue is just how unimportant it feels and I think that's because of the booking up to this point. With so many big talents in title contention these gauntlet style eliminator matches should feel uber important but it just doesn't and it leaves these matches feeling like flashy exhibitions. I'm fine with the result as Andrade going to on to face Hangman makes the most sense for a heel vs face dynamic and I like the dissension amongst Swerve and Kenny Omega with the potential of Hangman getting caught in the crossfire."
[8.0] "Perfect television match, this could easily be a ten or a match of the year contender on PPV which I would love to see in the near future. Some absolutely great work here with an ending that didn't feel too flat, with Andrade winning dirtily. Andrade's presentation has been great since returning to AEW again."
[8.0] "8.0 -- from the second the entrances hit, this crowd was locked in, with Andrade getting a surprisingly solid pop even while dragging Don Callis to the ring with him, and Kenny Omega walking out to a monster reaction as fans gleefully parroted Justin Roberts' entire introduction before immediately switching gears into loud "Kenny...Kenny...Kenny" chants and the ever-reliable "Fuck Don Callis" chorus right after the bell. The match never slowed down, easily the best-paced bout of the first hour of Dynamite, with Kenny flying at 100 miles an hour out of the gate, which honestly made me wonder if that frantic start was part of the story -- maybe he knows he has to catch Andrade early if he wants to win. The crowd popped hard for Andrade's figure-four, let out some definite murmurs when he rolled it into the figure-eight (yeah... that version), and stayed glued through a string of gorgeous sequences, including Kenny stuffing Andrade's double-jump moonsault with his knees, firing off those ridiculous snap-dragon suplexes, and landing a slick rising knee in the opening moments. Andrade was just as sharp, busting out his own twist on the Three Amigos with the third vertical suplex dumped on the arena floor, then following it up with a springboard torniho from the second rope to the outside before shamelessly posing for a small gaggle of very appreciative women at ringside. My favorite spot of the entire match, though, was Kenny going for an avalanche One-Winged Angel, only for Andrade to counter it into a sunset-flip powerbomb and snap right into a huge DDT for a near fall that felt this close -- like a real six-to-seven-count kind of close -- and that whole exchange was flat-out excellent. There was also a slick little run right before the screwdriver chaos, ending with Andrade drilling that hesitation back elbow, plus a random but noticeable moment where Andrade casually removed one of his gloves mid-match, which had me side-eyeing my screen wondering what exactly that was about. The finish came when Andrade tried to use a screwdriver, Swerve jumped in and yanked it away, the referee turned her attention to him instead, and that split-second distraction let Andrade sneak in a low blow and hit the DM on Kenny to steal the win. Smart, fast, chaotic in all the right ways -- this one never took its foot off the gas."
[8.0] "A little statistic: both men were undefeated this year. The crowd was chanting, as usual, "Fuck Don Callis! " Omega seemed to be in good form here, while Andrade was playing his character well. He was toying with the crowd and the commentators. Andrade is clearly becoming a threat, given that he beat both Swerve and Omega. The end of the match will develop the relationship between Swerve and Omega, which could be interesting."
[8.0] "Both guys were cooking here. This is the best Kenny has looked in a while. Over the last few months he has looked rough which is why he has been put in tag team or multi man matches but he looked his old self here. And Andrade is cooking with gas recently. He looks great and locked in. Both guys had great chemistry and is a fast paced match with a lot of character driven stuff especially from Andrade who has somewhat struggled over the years at character driven matches. The guy is a demon in the ring but struggled to get the crowd into him but he has found a character that works for him. this latino Rick Rude character is great. He finally looks like the main eventer world champion that his NXT run hinted he would be. AEW have done great stuff in getting both Andrade and Brody King over as main event contenders recently. Andrade at just having banger matches with Swerve and Kenny and Brody squashing MJF."
[9.0] "I have been up and down on Andrade over the years but I always thought he had a lot of talent. Typically the only guy who could really get in Andrade's way was Andrade himself. It's early days but I can't remember the last time Andrade looked so much like he was fully out of his own way, he has looked fantastic since his return(s? ) to AEW, fully motivated and energized, and it seems like the company is willing to put a good amount of faith behind him which is great in my view. Will it continue when he gets asked to do a couple jobs? That's the big question, but for now I'm enjoying the ride. After a huge win over Strickland he moved on to Kenny Omega, part 3, 273 of his endless feud with Don Callis (MOVE ON PLEASE), and they're fighting to get in line for a #1 contenders match with Hangman. Ultimately I do think the Strickland match was better, but this was a great back and forth match which played to the strengths of Omega. I won't try to speak on his NJPW days but I think at least in AEW Omega has always been far better as the earnest, fast moving, slightly awkward babyface that people like to get behind. Andrade is a natural heel so the dynamic clicked well, and you got a lot of really great looking sequences as they fought hard for the upper hand. Both guys are riding high now and looking as good as they've looked in a number of years, so this was just damn fun. I didn't mind the finish, I thought it was well booked in general to escalate things between Swerve and Omega (that'll be a great one for sure), my only complaint is that I'm very tired of the stupid screwdriver being a focal point in these stories, it just rubs me the wrong way at this point. But yeah, Omega and Swerve is on track and folks are theorizing Omega may win the belt one more time when they do their next PPV in Canada, I prefer MJF myself but you gotta admit the fan reaction would be quite tremendous."
[7.0] "Best match of the night: good combinations, well-timed changes of pace, high stakes, suspense, and a satisfying build-up. This is exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see more often on weekly shows. In-ring quality: 2/4. Stakes: 0.75/2. Justification: 1/1. Placement on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 6.75/10. Match watched on Triller TV."
[7.0] "Good match with a pretty lame sports entertainment style finish that took away a lot. Seemed to be a theme of the night with they way several things were booked."
[8.0] "Great match, high stakes, had a history between these two that we've been waiting to see for months play out. Personally I am disappointed that Kenny lost because I'm going to Sydney and wanted to see him, but Andrade is still awesome. I like both wrestlers and they put on a good match"
[8.0] "Real stakes, tension and two high level wrestlers produce a very high level TV match. Who would have believed it? ! I thought this was very good and exactly what I want from my TV wrestling. Andrade should be monster pushed to the title but you suspect he will be back in the pack in a few weeks."
[7.0] "Did I imagine a figure four in the middle of there somewhere? This was essentially one long frenetic finishing sequence with some terrific near falls. And of course the athletic execution was stellar, but the jumbled order of events was classic ADHDW ***1/2"
[8.0] "[4.0*] By far the best and only excellent match of the night. This was also my favorite Dynamite match of the year until now. I understand why the rating isn't as high as expected because they indeed wrestled a more slow, Solid Pros style of match, without a big amount of crazy fast sequences but with phenomenal character work by both guys. This match was clearly made to make Andrade a Main Eventer and in a workrate company where every jabroni does a thousand flips on the same match, focusing on his Soberano Jr-esque character was the best thing they could've done. He was just phenomenal. Kenny was also so, so great. He's giving so much attention to his selling, it's beautiful. Now the matches have "less", but this "less" means way more. Every single small detail was great. Even a fucking Flying Elbow, an irrelevant move, was just amazingly executed here with Kennys superb bumping and Andrade's taunting after the move with the kip-up. This was just an example of how every single thing mattered here, which made me absolutely love this one."
[8.0] "As expected, this was great. I thought Andrade looked great in the Swerve match from last week, but he was on another level here. Fantastic heel performance from him here, extremely cocky and arrogant but also very calculated when it came to wearing Kenny down. Kenny was also great in this too. His selling here was great and his comebacks were super explosive too. This does have interference at the end which i probably couldve done without but the action here was so good that it didnt take away from the match as a whole for me. I also thought it was the right decision to have Andrade go over here as that's a far more interesting choice than just having Kenny win, as much as i do love Kenny. A great match overall, and certainly a contender for the strongest AEW match of the year so far. Glad to see both of these guys in top form once again. ****"
"[8.0] "Seeing Kenny Omega with the same passion as before against an undefeated Andrade who has reinvented himself without needing to use a microphone and delivered a great match like the one against Swerve, he truly deserves to have the best match of the show. It's a shame I wanted to see more of both of them, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it could be the match of the month.""
[8.0] "Really good match as expected, Andrade was particularly great here, doing his thing with pause, building interest towards the match, mastering his character work, he was phenomenal, and that was an incredibly fun match to watch, Kenny was great too. That was one of those matches where everything looks nice, but mainly, it was captivating, they weren't just throwing random moves, but a proper story was being told, and Andrade pretty much called the whole match, with awesome control segments, and also a fantastic limb work on Kenny, who sold the pain the entire time. This had all the elements and the ending was unexpected, Andrade actually won, after Swerve appeared to help Kenny, but he ended up involuntarily screwing him, which may lead up to a Kenny vs Swerve match in the future - {***3/4}"
[8.0] "Another excellent match from Andrade since his return to AEW. He continues to remind everyone just how good he is. Fast, explosive, and incredibly athletic, while still wrestling with a stiff, hard-hitting style and taking some brutal bumps along the way. Both men showed strong technical chemistry as well, with some really clean and well-timed exchanges. Andrade's combination of technical skill, intensity and charisma are on a level that very few wrestlers can match, so seeing him get this push feels deserved despite his long absence. The finish played off a familiar theme for Andrade lately, with the low blow followed by the DM, but it was set up well within the chaos of the closing. Swerve tried to stop Andrade from cheating and grabbed the screwdriver, which led to a tense confrontation between Andrade and Swerve on the apron. As the referee dealt with Swerve, Kenny lifted Andrade onto his shoulders, only for Andrade to slip free, land the low blow, hit the DM, and score the three count. Swerve gets the blame for the way the match ends, even though he had good intentions and now an angle is set up between Swerve and Kenny. More Andrade singles matches, please, and I'd absolutely love to see him face Kenny again down the line."
[8.0] "Andrade is living this gimmick super well. Glad to have Kenny back but god am I surprised with the booking able to strike when the iron is hot, like it is with Andrade! Great finish unironically."
[8.0] "[4, 25 Stars] I am so, so happy to see Kenny in such good shape these past few weeks. He is the wrestler of my life, and he continues to thrill me despite the injuries he has suffered. And Andrade Is the Wrestler of the year so far"
[8.0] "Outstanding. Kenny omega was moving freely and probably as well as he had done for years. Andrade is looking locked in and is performing at a really high standard. This may fully lived up to expectations"
[8.0] "I hope to see a rematch on a PPV with more time. Anyway, Andrade since his return has been something else he's extremely focused and is making the most of his push. If he keeps this up, he'll become one of the company's top stars. A potential Omega vs Swerve is also interesting; that would be another huge match."
[8.0] "Great match with a genuinely surprising finish, but well deserved. Andrade is such a great heel here, had some great character moments like taking selfies with the girls in the front row and doing a "paint me like one of your french girls" pose on the apron, but also in his work. Seeing Kenny hit his knee on the post and immediately turning that into a knee lock, reversing the avalanche 1WA, you can genuinely buy him as a credible threat even without Don Callis interference which was a bit essential in keeping the mystique around Omega so didn't bother me too much. Really hope this Andrade push lasts."
[6.0] "Though a little dry at the start, the match quickly found its hook and built real tension by the end. The action is consistently solid, crisp and essentially flawless, owing to the talent and chemistry of both guys. The back elbow was particularly memorable, and the finish felt unpredictable and played out quite dramatically."
[8.0] "This was pretty much exactly what I wanted from Omega vs. Andrade, I had not seen their previous match but this just highlighted the strengths of two brilliant performers. Kenny Omega has really shifted into that veteran role well, he undeniably takes less bumps than a few years back, but he delivers just as much impact through smart selling and clever counters. Andrade is one of my favourite workers currently, he is just on fire with his character work and in ring action. Andrade got the win with The DM following Don Callis interference, a decent finish although Andrade could really do with a clean win over a big name like Omega. A great watch overall, as good as a TV match with a cheap-ish finish gets."
[7.0] "[3.5 Stars] Pretty solid match. Definitely nowhere near the level we would expect from these two men but pretty good. Wasn't a massive fan of the finish"
[9.0] "Yeah, Kenny's winning that belt. Him getting the straight shot to MJF at Revolution was weird, considering he can win the belt in Canada at Dynasty, so him losing here was the right booking choice. We get the Swerve dream match now, and Kenny winning that can get him the Canada title shot. As for this match, it was predictably awesome. Andrade's been on top form since returning to AEW, and Kenny really is the best he's been in years. Lots of stiff rights and forearms throughout, along with some sick reversal sequences, like that "Fuck you Jay"-esque V-Trigger near the end (even if the camera angle was terrible). Finish was done well too, protected Kenny and continued escalating the tension with Swerve. Just great stuff overall. ****1/4"
[6.0] "6.5 - I hope Kenny enjoyed the show he was watching on the screen for most of the match. These two are relatively similar performers. While I appreciate AEW getting behind Andrade, I think it needs to lead beyond just losing to Hangman."
[8.0] "Great showing from both guys, just super well-paced bomb-trading in this one with more evolution on Andrade's current ladies' man persona, Kenny & Callis being mortal enemies as always, and Swerve tinging heelish without turning as his attempt to get back at Andrade costed Kenny the match. Andrade was the right call to win here, he's looking incredible lately and I want to see him and Hangman go at it. Kenny will get his chance. ****"
[7.0] "Andrade moving onto the finals of the AEW #1 Contenders Tournament really shows me that Andrade is truly a main eventer in AEW right now. He defeated Swerve and Omega in the span of 2 weeks, that puts you on the map! This match was really good with high-flying action mixed in with some stiff shots. Ending was good and set up for a potential Swerve vs. Omega showdown. [***.85]"
[9.0] "Excellent match. This is probably the most I've been invested in Andrade since his NXT days as he's been very good and has the character down. Kenny has been back on form lately and looked great. The outcome was surprising in a good way. Wouldn't mind seeing a rematch at some point."
[7.0] "A very strong match with a weak finish. Like last week against Swerve, Andrade battles valiantly but ultimately can only get the best of the beloved baby-face by taking a short-cut with a low blow missed by the referee. Would love to see these two battle a second time in a PPV setting with a clean finish, but alas Andrade is destined for title contention while Kenny sets up an intriguing feud with Swerve."
[9.0] "My goat is back to form, even if he did take the loss tonight. Goddamn its good to see Kenny looking so good again. Match was very strong, they had some great bumps, and Andrade is getting a big push, but mostly I'm just so happy to see Kenny genuinely looking great again."
[8.0] "A good match, but maybe not the classic I thought it could be. Andrade dominating a large portion of the match AND getting the win was an odd choice, and some of Andrade's early control segments didn't really lead anywhere. Luckily, both guys know how to turn up the intensity in the final act, leading to an exciting conclusion that got the crowd into it. I really enjoyed the stiff striking exchanges as well. Andrade's back elbow that comes out of nowhere is one of the most impressive-looking moves in AEW at the moment, and one that still manages to catch me off-guard every time I see it."
[9.0] "Excellent match between two amazing wrestlers. I know some are probably sour on the dirty finish, but it really worked for me as I bit on the twists and turns it presented, as it first felt like Andrade wasn't gonna get away with cheating, but then he did. A nearfall that I actually fell for too, which is rare due to how overexposed they are. LOVED this match."
[8.0] "Pretty easily the match of the night for me. These guys were clicking here and the finish was filled with interference, but it furthered the stories so it did it's job. Hangman vs Andrade at Grand Slam which is gonna be great. I'd love to see these guys in a match again, and maybe we will down the road for the world title. ****"
[8.0] "Very good match, would love to see them wrestle again. They left plenty of room to improve on their eventual rematch, and the Swerve element adds intrigue towards a probable Swerve Kenny feud which will always be great. Can't wait for the rematch, Andrade looks very comfortable and motivated in AEW now"
[9.0] "What a freaking match. Both guys proved why they are amongst the best in the world. Both guys have got the 'eye of the tiger' back and 2026 will be huge years for both men. I know wrestlers don't throw punches anymore but man the bombs that Kenny was throwing were beautiful, the lefts and the rights were flying. The striking exchanges in this match were incredible, both the chops and the slaps across the chest were brutal. Andrade doing the tornillo to impress the women and then going over to hug them all was great, what a showman. Didn't like the endings execution but I've always hated screwdriver lore. 4.5 and yes they have a much better match into them as this barely scratched the surface."
[9.0] "I've been waiting for this match since October, and it was freaking amazing. Andrade and Omega had great in-ring chemistry with great counters and strikes. Andrade taking a selfie with the girls in the front row killed me and like how it's just become a gag at this point. Both Kenny Omega & Andrade put on good performances. I was shocked Andrade won the match"
[8.0] "Great match. They got the crowd involved and traded meaningful blows with each other without overusing their arsenal. Andrade is on fire right now, nice to see the new AEW signings bringing fresh air for the company and Omega looks better than ever. Excited for the future of both man!"
