Rey Fenix vs. Trick Williams

[5.0] "Didn't really care for this. Had a lot of fun, slick movements but not a lot of intensity. Cool little TV exhibition though that couldve made Fenix look like a total punk bitch after the Orton segment but I think the match succeeded in lessening the possible damage. Fenix looked fine. **3/4"

[7.0] "I really enjoyed this match. Rey Fenix is brilliant between the ropes, no matter who his opponent is, and he proved it once again here. It's about time he's given an opportunity at something bigger, considering how impressive he is every week and especially because he consistently has the support of the crowd. Trick Williams is no slouch either. He has great charisma and knows how to play with the audience, which is an important quality for a wrestler of his stature. This match was a perfect blend of their respective styles, and it worked really well. That was my main concern going in, but Trick clearly knows how to work with cruiserweights, and that's great to see."

[6.0] "An entertaining match. I think it works better to showcase Rey Fenix, with Trick Williams complementing him to create an entertaining encounter."

[7.0] "This was a good match but I feel it could be better. Interesting to have these two compete in a match and I would like to see it again and it kick up another gear."

[7.0] "Trick and Rey had a great match. Pace aaa solid throughout, Rey amazed with some rope based moves, and some great near falls from Trick (the scissor kick and Book End in particular). Trick with the tights is nice booking, gets him some heat."

[7.0] "Great debut match for Trick Williams, love how they are showcasing him early on, first Sami now Randy and then a great match with Fenix, good start for the year for Trick so far."

[7.0] "Good match. Trick is going to be an interesting watch as the year goes on. Extremely charismatic guy, looks good, confident, carries himself like a star, has shown good improvement in the ring from his tna stuff. But it's going to be interesting cause the fans loving chanting whoop dat trick and all that, there's still a lot more he can in regards to his heel work. I want him seeking heat better to help serve the match when he's in there against other babyfaces"

[5.0] "Fine match, good for Trick Williams's debut, but I expected something more intresting, or dynamic maybe. Fenix 100% can do better, but he don't get so many chances."

[7.0] "This was a very fine match; Trick Williams looked to hold his own against Rey Fenix. I thought about how he was displayed this week and last week; they're treating Trick Williams like another mega-star, as they should. Rey Fenix looked great in this match with his aerial offense, & high-flying defense. Trick Williams, I knew was going to win, but they did it as it protected Rey Fenix as well. I thought this was a fun debut for Trick Williams, and now he will face Matt Cardona to try to punch his ticket to the Fatal-Four Way Match at Saturday Night Main Event. I hope for Rey Fenix, he has a big year as we want to see Rey Fenix be on the level that many other luchadors are at over on RAW, as Dragon Lee, Penta & Rey Mysterio are in the Main Event Scene."

[7.0] "It was a really good match, Trick put on a pretty good performance. I'm giving it a 7 instead of a 6 mainly because of Rey Fenix's performance. He really holds his own, and the rope run scene was great."

[6.0] "Match was fine, finish was mid. Watching my boy Rey getting jobbed out to this over pushed and over hyped dude who has just shown the peak of his powers in this match... disappointing."

[7.0] "Good main roster debut for Trick. The action was well paced and the kicks looked very good. Cheap win for Williams to protect Fenix. Overall a good TV match"

[6.0] "Run-off-the-mill encounter with some entertaining spots, ending protected both and dragged a possible future feud onwards. Good one to establish Trick as a major spot in SD."

[6.0] "Pretty good match. Trick makes his in-ring debut on the main roster in a power vs speed matchup against Rey Fenix. It's a nice showcase for Trick with Fenix bumping all over the place making him look strong. Trick gets the win with a rollup while pulling the tights. A classic heel finish that sets the tone for what Trick will do while still protecting Fenix. Some good stuff here, though both guys are clearly capable of doing much more. 6.5/10"

[6.0] "Not phenomenal but also could have been much worse seeing it is a trick Williams match. I've enjoyed how they've portrayed trick his first two weeks on the main roster having him interact with some of the big stars they have on smackdown already. He's a great promo he's got great charisma but his in ring still drastically needs work. I still also feel there's a chance they can be preparing trick for a mid card title run this year. (***)"

[6.0] "[3.0*] It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. A fairly honest little match. Trick Williams got a good reaction from the crowd, and Fenix had the fans' support the entire time. Unfortunately, some small botches by Fenix weighed down my rating, along with the slowness and the difficulty in telling a story in the ring."

[6.0] "Well, Trick as always isn't great in the ring, but outside of it he's good. Hopefully they manage to build something for him on the main roster. Rey... I guess we just wait for him to get back in a tag with Penta. Until then I think his role is more or less that of a jobber."

[7.0] "Pretty fun back and forth here. While I would have liked a clean finish, I don't mind this as it gives Trick a needed win in his debut while still protecting Fenix"

"Impressive SmackDown debut for Trick Williams! He beat Fenix in a fun, competitive match. The finish was clever--both fought for the roll-up, but Trick used the tights to seal the deal. Great way to protect Fenix while giving Trick the W."

[7.0] "Williams/Fenix is very cool. It was the first time I saw Williams wrestle and I enjoyed it. His in-ring skills are very good and he moves well. Fenix delivered again. Perfect start for Trick."

[8.0] "A good main roster debut for Trick. The crowd reaction was very good. People know who he is, and that's already good. I liked that it wasn't a squash, and Fenix and Trick were shown as strong opponents working equally. Excellent."

[7.0] "Trick Williams gets the win in his SmackDown debut via rollup. A fairly entertaining match between two very talented guys. I like the finish with both guys fighting for a rollup and Trick pulls the tights to win. This allows Williams to get a win in his debut while keeping Fenix from losing clean."

[7.0] "It's a shame that those fights happened at the end, it's a real shame about Rey Fenix, he's great, so it's a shame he didn't make it, but the fight kept pace, well done guys."
