[7.0] "A good performance from Sammy using his role as best as TK can where he shows up for one match every few months doing some cocky woke bullshit, elevated by the bloody nose he got so he looked cooler. They both worked to their strengths and had a fun mid-card TV match not bogging down the episode at all like I thought it would. Some fun spots like the one near the end where Bandido catches the kick, spins him up and lands a knee. Yeah im quite fond of this one! ***1/2"
[8.0] "The match surprised me, way too much. I was expecting a good match, sure, but it was insane. It's a spot monkey match, but they really build their spots and create something to talk about... so no, it's not just spot monkey, it's just a really good match."
[6.0] "Sammy Guevara has seemingly learned a lot from his time in the Sons Of Texas, & he's come a long way from his troubled past of being a nuisance backstage & being an unsafe worker. This match won't move mountains, but I enjoyed it."
[8.0] "Bandido continues to impress, and Sammy really pulled me over for this one. Would've loved to see more action from Bandido to showcase his power going into his title match, but still good nonetheless."
[9.0] "Incredibly exciting match despite Bandido's win being a foregone conclusion. Highlights include the perfectly timed springboard cutter by Sammy and a gorgeous counter into a v-trigger by Bandido in the home stretch. Tepid crowd in the beginning but these guys won them over and had them hot by the finish."
[7.0] "I guess I'm a contrarian because I thought this was actually quite a good match. I think making Bandido falter was an interesting change of pace, especially against Sammy Guevara of all people. However, Sammy did some good heel work and made me dislike him throughout the match, and Bandido came away with a clean victory. Pretty much all you can want out of a television match."
[9.0] "I thought this was a great TV match actually. Bandido is on a role and Sammy, while his star has fallen considerably (sadly), is still an entertaining wrestler in my view. Good stuff. Wisht they'd fully get behind Sammy as a heel gimmick, people just desperately love to hate the guy."
[8.0] "I'm surprised with the lower ratings and hate of Sammy tbh. I feel both guys looked awesome and Sammy deserves more time on AEW TV. I don't feel either person was "carried" by the other in this one. Both pulled off smooth moves and seemed to mesh well with the either. The shooting star off the top rope to the outside from Sammy was my favorite part. That dude can generate so much heat from the in person crowd and IWC obviously, keeping him on weekly wouldn't seem like a bad idea. Loved this match."
[6.0] "Bandido is one of my favorite wrestlers in the world today, and Sammy Guevara, who has been in the Ring of Honor territory, is going after the ROH World Champion, and this match wasn't that bad whatsoever. Bandido then, after defeating Sammy Guevara, MJF came out, and I liked that Bandido looked strong before the AEW World Title Match next week at AEW Maximum Carnage."
"Hierarchy is everything in wrestling. While the work was good, Bandido having a back and forth match with Sammy Guevara in 2026 didn't work for me at all. If this was anywhere between 2019-2022 it would make sense. But Sammy has fallen off a cliff and so many young guys that have rose to the occasion in Aew have passed him by. This should have been like 5 minutes. I could understand Tony trying to do something with Sammy again, but wrong place, wrong time. Especially with Bandido gearing up to face MJF for world title"
"8.5; The match's standout moment came when Sammy tried hiding under the ring, only for Bandido to drag him out, get blinded by a spit attack, and still counter Sammy's moonsault into a sequence that ended with Guevara drilling him with a DDT on the floor. Despite his rocky history--backstage drama, accusations of recklessness, and the Jericho Vortex--Sammy genuinely looked like a star again, raising the question of whether he's finally rebuilding that long-lost "Pillar" momentum. The Tulsa crowd made their loyalties clear, booing Sammy relentlessly while erupting for Bandido, from the finger-gun kickout to the perfectly timed "No you're not! " heckle after Sammy claimed he'd be world champion. The story between them was simple but effective, built from two recent multi-man encounters and LFI's ongoing attempt to take Bandido's ROH World Title after Rush was sidelined. With big moments like Sammy's 21 Plex counters, Bandido's explosive offense, and a crowd fully locked in, this was easily the best match of the night--and an absolute must-watch for anyone who missed it."
[6.0] "Despite the Bandido win never being in doubt, Guevara put in one of the stronger performances I've seen from him in recent memory, allowing both himself and his opponent to shine. These two worked great together and brought some really nice flow with plenty of hard-hitting moments; the springboard cutter was a thing of beauty as well, especially to me as someone who isn't a big fan of the twenty-one-plex. It wasn't special, but it was good."
[3.0] "I thought this sucked honestly. No reason for Bandido to be having a 50/50 match with Sammy Guevara in 2026. Bad hee performance from Sammy here, like he was just trying so many things here and none of them worked all that well. They go into an incredibly forced big move trading sequence towards the end and while some of the moves looked cool i couldnt really bring myself to care because again, why does Bandido have to do this much to beat Sammy Guevara in 2026. Really did not like this one, just felt like they were trying to do far too much here when the entire objective of this match was to give Bandido a clean win before his match with MJF next week. Instead they had him go move for move with a guy who is barely featured on TV and holds barely any relevance in the current AEW landscape anymore. Bad. *3/4"
[8.0] "This match was so good. Sure, it was obvious which way it was going, but Sammy more than played his part as a weasel heel - delivering his own high-risk moves. He's improved so much since I last saw him on AEW."
[5.0] "Sammy Guevara does a lot, but as a heel, I think he's alright, especially for a midcard show. His wrestling is good, and Bandido benefited more from this match than from his encounter with Beast Mortos. In-ring quality: 1.75/4. Stakes: 0.5/2. Justification: 1/1. Card placement: 1/1. Suspense: 0/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 5.25/10. Match watched on Triller TV."
[5.0] "[2.5*] Yeah man, idk about this one. It was definitely pretty solid and decent but I just couldn't keep myself interested. Sammy Guevara just does not work for me. He kept trying to be the center of attention and every single attempt of his of getting over was pretty ridiculous. He picked the headphone and started saying nonsense, then he got to the camera and kept just saying whatever. I didn't even know it was humanly possible for someone to be so bad with a microphone. Dude is athletic and can do nice flying moves but he's just a charisma vacuum. It's pretty hard to care. Bandido was very good tho."
[7.0] "It was a good fight from both sides, it could even have been an 8, but Sammy's heel role caused the fight to slow down a lot and become a bit tedious, but with Bandido's agility and crazy flights it became very entertaining, even thought the result was obvious."
[3.0] "Went too long the second Sammy got a move in. Bandido, ROH World champion and #1 contender for the AEW World title, should not be going 50/50 (OR WORSE) with Sammy Guevara in 2026. Bandido of course had a great performance, but this match just feels spiritually wrong to me. This win does nothing for Bandido and he took a huge beating against someone who struggles for TV time. This makes him look more weak than he did before just a week before his world title match. Horrible, horrible execution even if the work rate is good."
[6.0] "Sammy Guevara constantly pisses me off, like god damn brother, this match is not about you, this shit ain't about YOU, yet he continues to bump and oversell and do all his shit, get your shit in brother, it's so god damn annoying to see, yet Bandido, Bandido has hit that next level of being over with this crowd and i'm super glad to see it, still a good match, but just you can see this match is a perfect example of how much so many other young men in AEW have surpassed Sammy as a young star."
[4.0] "It was kinda boring. Sammy had the upperhand mostly the whole match and it was kinda sloppy, nothing really nice here to watch I think. I dont think Sammy Guevara has a lot to do in AEW now with the roster being so tremendous."
[6.0] "They need to stop putting Sammy Guevara on TV mam, Bandido could barely carry that bum to something decent. The finger gun kickout was the only highlight. **3/4"
[9.0] "This was my match of the night. I loved every second of this match. Sammy had a really good showing here and Bandido brought the best outta him. Bandido has been on a freaking role lately with having great match after great match. Sammy isn't my favorite, hut this is now my favorite match of his. There wasn't a single botch in this match at all. Sammy's counter of Bandido's finisher was a great counter"
[4.0] "Pretty average match where this not much being bad but also not really an exciting encounter that is going to leave any sort of lasting impression. A vehicle that was used to get to the segment with MJF but there isn't any suspense or drama here. Bandido's wins towards his world title match over the underwhelming opponents didn't do much for him and no one in the world believes that he's beating MJF and winning the world title."
[7.0] "Damn. If the whole match was as good as the last few minutes this could have been very good. It was pretty slow and sloppy initially but they really nailed the finish and Sammy bloody from the nose made for some extra salt."
[7.0] "Sammy Guevara hasn't always been my cup of tea in terms of what he can bring to the table, but having him be paired up with Bandido brought a good performance out. Bandido of course got the win and I'm excited to see him challenge MJF for the world title, even if I don't see him winning it."
[8.0] "The forced hate towards Sammy Guevara might be the most ridiculous shit in the IWC right now. The match rocked with great counters, athletic moves and a good pace. Bandido being one of the best in the world clearly helps"
[8.0] "Great match. Sammy Guevara is widely hated, but he's someone who knows how to deliver in the ring. This was a high-flying match. There were some impressive counters, some seriously crazy spots for a weekly show, and a good exchange of moves. It's a short but entertaining match to watch"
[7.0] "This was a really solid match. Sammy still has a huge amount of upside and this match proved that. Bandido and banger are basically the same word at this point. Decent pacing, decent work and didn't overstay its welcome. What's not to enjoy here? ! A solid 7/10"
[6.0] "First half of this was pretty much nothing but boring Sammy heel control spots, but picked up well with Bandido's fiery comeback and closing sequence with some cool moves. Overall pretty solid but felt a bit underwhelming for a Bandido match compared to recent outings"
[8.0] "I'll be damned. I'm not a Sammy Guevara hater by any means but I do feel like he's lost tons of momentum over the last few years. That being said, he really showed out here and matched Bandido's energy. Love that they really went back and forth and Sammy looked like a credible challenger. Hope they run this back in ROH tbh."
