[8.0] "They worked a Darby death ragdoll match and it ruleeeed! Not gonna talk about the stupid ass vacate thing after because this match deserved more attention. Slater ate shit and did crazy dives and flips AND successfully turned the tide against Oba convincingly to make an electric third act. Slater launching himself at Oba to push him into the stairs and damage his knee further was one of my favorite spots. But you could easily go with Oba tossing Slater into the corner and out of the ring too. Or that insane dive out of the ring corner right onto Oba. Or any of the insane near-falls. Lots to love in this match. My favorite Oba match so far I think. ****1/4"
[7.0] "It was a really very good match and a great farewell to NXT for Oba Femi, who is now heading to the main stage as he deserves. Leon Slater delivered an excellent performance against a champion who is notoriously difficult to bring down. There were many great moments in this match, with a strong dynamic built around the classic David vs. Goliath story that WWE has been using for years, yet one we never really grow tired of. We can only thank Oba Femi for his brilliant run in NXT and for everything he brought to the division since his arrival."
[7.0] "The story of Oba Femi in NXT in one match- physical domination throughout, half looking like glorified squashes due to the monster Oba is. Leon did well here, and the crucifix pin towards the end was an incredible false finish. Serviceable match, and I think story-wise a fitting end to Oba's time in NXT- still the monster til the end"
[8.0] "[7, 50/10, 0] It was a really good match. Leon Slater used every advantage he had to punish Oba Femi, who was twice his weight and strength, gaining the upper hand but ultimately failing to capitalize. It was very entertaining, with great spots and excellent storytelling."
[6.0] "Had some pronounced weaknesses for sure. It was shockingly short for a big title match main eventing a ppv between two hot stars, only about 13 minutes iirc. And I think Oba bumped too big for Slater's offense, which was good but not so good that it made me believe he could be doing the damage I was seeing to Femi. And then after a huge babyface shine, it gets cut off just a little bit too fast, which feels almost a little unearned, a rare thing for Femi. Still, the dynamic at play is so strong, they both play their roles in the Heel/Face dynamic so well that one finds it compelling nonetheless, so a 6 feels accurate."
[7.0] "Oba just beats the hell out of Leon and tosses him around. The short time makes it harder for them to tell the story they wanted to in full. Good match, not quite great."
[7.0] "Not as ambitious as anticipated, but well-executed nonetheless. Femi is especially impressive, again selling beyond his years and making the most of some admittedly middling limb work from Slater. Unsurprisingly though, this shines brightest on offence, with both lads producing a highlight or two. ***1/4"
[6.0] "Overall a solid match, but felt a bit rushed. Leon got to showcase his speed and skills, Oba got to be a beast. I get them wanting him to be strong when he debuts on the main roster, but he has lost multiple times before, so dropping the belt would not have hurt him (not necessarily to Slater of course)."
[8.0] "Once again the match of the night is an Oba Femi match, always fun to watch it seems, Leon's selling was very good throughout the match and there were some insane moments as well during this, the ending was insane with Oba relinquishing the title, seems like a good way to go out looking dominant."
[7.0] "A David versus Goliath match. Slater had three moves I really liked (when he carried Oba, when he pushed Oba's hand away, and the jump over the ropes). Oba will therefore debut on the main roster. The main roster is going to be interesting with all these new faces, and NXT will have to showcase other talent."
[6.0] "This was a good match, but it was over way too quickly. What we did get was fun, including a really close roll up that looked as if it might have actually been 3."
[6.0] "[3.25*] They managed to make a super match of this magnitude not turn out good... The dynamics weren't good, and neither was the duration. Either they have no chemistry, or it was badly booked."
[7.0] "Giving this only 12-13 minutes was such a crime dude since it was going so well with the time it had. The post match angle is obviously the talking point but I enjoyed this match too and Leon slater should be getting big things soon in WWE if I was running it."
[8.0] "This was an entertaining match. Oba had most of the offence and it all looked great. Leon got a bit of offence in which was great as well. Overall it was a good match."
[5.0] "A comfortable victory for Oba, and rightly so given we have the making of what seems to be a main-roster call-up. Given Leon's athletic ability, I did find myself somewhat disappointed; he's capable of a superb Je'Von-standard challenge for the belt, however that's not what we got to see besides a couple of ultimately insignificant flashes. Not bad, but fell short of my expectations."
[8.0] "Why The hell Leon didn't won? Like Really. All of this and then he retain. And Then he Relinquish the title. Very funny. That been Said it's a pretty good match ****"
[7.0] "Very good main event, where Oba showed why he is the best on NXT. Leon Slater just flying because of Femi and I'm a little bit disappointed that Leon don't get enough time for doing his best. Actually I think that this match was cutted time and this wasn't good for title match. They deserved 15+ minutes for showing one of the best matches for this year, bit it still was a banger."
[6.0] "[3.0*] Good match, but I was disappointed. Very short and was never treated as a big thing. The dynamic was obviously great and Oba/Leon have great chemistry, but it kinda never left first gear. Good showing that could've been even better."
[7.0] "Very entertaining though I wouldve loved to see Leon become a double champ. Oba vacating the title is a perfect introduction to the main roster...but why did he lose to ricky months ago? And what does this do for Leon at the end of the day? The recent booking of the nxt championship has been really weird lately."
[8.0] "[4 Stars] God I loved this match. I think the biggest criticism I have is that, granted, Leon Slater never quite felt like he was actually going to win, but boy did he look incredible here. These two men work so well together - the speed of Slater and the strength of Femi just balancing each other out enough that they create the oerfect chemistry between the two men. It was short, sweet, and offered some incredibly exciting fast paced action. Would love to see these two go at it time and time again."
[6.0] "Pretty good match for the NXT title. A high flyer challenger against a powerhouse champion. Nothing you haven't seen before, but Oba and Slater are both good wrestlers, and they worked well together. It never felt like Slater had a legitimate chance of winning, Oba retains with relative ease. This could have used a few more minutes to feel like a proper main event. Then after the match Oba unceremoniously drops the title because he's being called up to the main roster. WWE certainly wasn't going to have a TNA wrestler like Slater beat Oba for the title, so why not find someone else for this match? This was odd. 6.5/10"
[6.0] "It felt extremely short to me. You have two incredibly talented wrestlers like Leon and Oba, and you give them 11 MINUTES, 11! OBA'S LAST FEMI MATCH IN NXT, 11 MINUTES! This match could have easily been on par with Je'von's match at Heatwave 2025, but no, it had a very anticlimactic ending. Leon is dominating Oba, and out of nowhere, he runs towards him and hits a powerbomb--1, 2, 3, he retains! And then he leaves the title in the ring. I ask myself, WAS IT SO HARD TO MAKE LEON WIN? RICKY SAINTS BEAT HIM, AND LEON CAN'T? IT'S INFURIATING HOW MUCH TALENT IS WASTED IN NXT."
[8.0] "This was good. It was kind of apparent who was going to win, and my issues with booking aside (Oba getting pinned to Ricky and then vacating the title like a beast after winning it back) this was a very solid match. Leon gave it a good go, and Oba performed his role well"
[6.0] "Thought it was pretty good but a bit lacking for a world title match. Wish Leon had gotten some more offense in and I thought the finish was a little abrupt. Still a good watch though. 3.25/5"
[7.0] "Incredibly great match as expected, but I was admittedly disappointed with how short the match was. It felt like just when the match started hitting that next gear, the match suddenly ended. Either way, Oba Femi vacating the title because NXT is too easy for him is the coolest shit ever."
[7.0] "A very good main event. However, the most interesting point is the ending. Did Oba Femi vacate the title due to injury or because he is moving up to the main roster? Personally, I would lean towards the second option. [***1/2]"
[8.0] "This was a good match. I thought Leon Slater might pull off an upset and become the first TNA Wrestler to hold the WWE NXT Title, but that didn't happen. Oba Femi fought well, and there were moments I believed his reign could end, but ultimately, he won and retained the title. After the match, something shocking occurred: Oba Femi left the WWE NXT Title in the ring, signaling that he was relinquishing it and moving to the Main Roster. I think this was the perfect way to conclude his NXT journey, and I liked it a lot. He did what Asuka did, which I believe was the best choice to call him up. Now that NXT has been significantly restructured and new talent is emerging, I think this is a positive move. With everyone called up, it's time for HBK to develop new stars, and we'll see who shines in 2026. This includes Blake Monroe, Ethan Page, Jacy Jayne, Je'Von Evans, Jordynne Grace, Oba Femi, Ricky Saints, Sol Ruca, Trick Williams, and Zaria, all of whom will eventually join the Main Roster."
[7.0] "This was decent but really should've gotten a longer time than 11 minutes. This was a good showing for Leon and a decent final match for Oba in NXT. That roll-up from Slater almost made the roof in the building blow up if he got the 3 there."
[7.0] "I expected a bit more from this match but it was still very enjoyable. Leon Slater got to showcase his talents with some great moves and Oba Femi dominated like the beast he is. The best part of this was the shot at the end with Oba in the ring lifting the title. Show ends with the title in the ring indicating Oba vacating it and going up to the main roster."
[9.0] "Another good match for two young talents. Oba Femi are comfortable in matches with wrestlers of Leon Slater's style. The future of wrestling is in good hands. Hopefully, Femis will reach the top of the WWE main roster, and Leon Slater will have a stellar year in his company. I support the decision to give the win to Femi. He's the kind of wrestler who shouldn't lose a match before being promoted to the main roster. The company sees a future in him, which means he should leave the developmental stage with his head held high."
[8.0] "Oba takes most of this match, flexing his dominance while in control, Leon gets in some fun hope spots before ultimately falling just short in defeat. Good stuff. ***3/4"
[9.0] "Probably five minutes too short but it was a packed show and a good way to see Oba out of NXT. Would like more of Leon in NXT if he makes the switch permanent"
[7.0] "A pretty good match with an even better post match. A David vs Goliath type of match, but really no chance of Oba Femi losing here imo. The match itself was good in ring, but following the pin, it cuts to a backstage segment and back to the ring showing the belt left in the middle. This is obviously leading to Oba Femi on the main roster which should be great."
