[8.0] "This was a borderline great match. Davey Richards was an up and coming star at this time, and even then he showed great potential. On the other hand, Naomichi Marufuji was already a major star in Pro Wrestling Noah, and consistently brought it in the ring every time he went to ROH. This was only 15 minutes long, but in that time, they had a very good back and forth match. One minor complaint is that Marufuji working over Davey's leg didn't really lead anywhere when it comes to the finish or any major spots. That aside, this was still fun to watch. ****"

Rewatching 2006 - 2007 ROH I have found that Marufuji is able to put together exciting sequences and pull off flashy moves but his matches are often quite devoid of substance. I do think the 15 minute length worked in the favour of this at least, as it prevented them from going too hard in to overkill mode which almost certainly would have happened in a longer match."

No matter who he was paired with, no matter where his position on the card was, he was always able to go out and have an absolute barnburner every single time. Despite being an undercard match, there was enough great action and a big enough crowd response that this could have easily main evented any other show."

[7.0] "This match had some great sequances but it lacked solidity in some portions. For exemple there was a Maru's limb work on Richards' leg that, as often as happens with Richards, didn't pay off. Neverthless a good match, adequate considering its position in the card, but it could have been way better. ***1/2"
