[9.0] "So close to perfect for me. Sareee has been my favorite joshi for the better part of a year and half and Natsupoi continues to impress me with every match. Natuspoi took a bit to connect with me but seeing her go toe to toe with one of the best women's wrestlers of the last decade is really gratifying. This match was all killer no filler. Just two women that know each other inside and out and have a burning desire to best one another. Stiff as hell as Sareee matches always are. They kind of lost me just over the finish line as I found the kick out of 3 Uranagis to be overkill especially when what followed wasn't super amazing either. A fantastic match that was just slightly overcooked in my opinion"

[5.0] "Honestly very underwhelming for me. Very inconsistent selling. No story being told. Not as stiff as I usually expect from Sareee. (Or maybe because I watched that Kento match, everything else kind of feels watered down idk. But I wasn't feeling this one at all. This match was like that "chicken with no seasoning at all" meme. None of the momentum shifts worked because honestly there wasn't any momentum to begin with. It felt like they were working a match just because they were supposed to rather than trying to create something. Very boring."

[9.0] "Natsupoi getting those single chances looks so cool for me. She is great, and in that match facing arguably the WOTY, she made a standout performance as well. They went farming aura for the literal first minute, doing some nasty hard hitting strikes. And when I say strikes, I mean EACH one of them you can possible thought about. Forearm, slaps (the nasty ones), kicks, punches, they went for real here. Every single match Sareee did follows a formula, she will do her stuff until it comes to the Uranage sequence, so the opponent needs to shine until that point comes. And Natsupoi did that with maestry. Don't know why, but I feel she fights better with short hair. Maybe I'm crazy."

Great match, and a highlight being Sareee's Muta Lock-Camel Clutch combination. Great story, Poi was falling out of love with wrestling, then at Sareee-ISM her vigor was renewed, and Sareee wanted to do that again here. Match of the card here. Definitely worth the watch"

[10.0] "As usual, Stardom is here sneaking in a few late contenders for MOTY. The High Speed Fairy Natsupoi might be my favorite wrestler in all of Stardom, she's not only great in the ring but she's just got something about her, some kind of charisma or it factor that puts her ahead of the pack. However, she has had a difficult year in terms of in ring success. She started the year as part of the trios champions but lost those in February, and since then she's had a hard go of it in terms of winning important matches. Here she is battling a friend and rival in Sareee, someone she knows well but hasn't battled 1 on 1 in Stardom before now. The story going in here is that the highly successful Sareee will give Natsupoi her fully powered attack, a dangerous request considering Sareee's brutal skills at causing pain, in order to push Natsupoi to reignite at the highest level to overcome her. It's a great idea and it resulted in a phenomenal modern joshi match! This was probably my 2nd favorite Stardom match all year, so in that sense it definitely accomplished the goal. It was an exceptionally intense fight right from the beginning, cutting a fast, determined pace and continuing in kind. Sareee blasted Natsupoi to hell and back with strikes, submissions, and suplexes, but Natsupoi fought back time and again. In the end she could not quite get the advantage long enough to string together the offense she needed, and Sareee hit a dizzying barrage of brutal throws that eventually smashed Natsupoi down into a heart breaking defeat. I don't know where Natsupoi goes from here but I'm very interested in whatever she does next. #29 on my MOTY list to date, which is very nearly complete."

[8.0] "MOTN up till this point for sure for me. Like many matches between friends, these two beat the hell out of each other. They have great chemistry; what they both excel at complements each other so well. The only problem was the crowd. It was silent, to no fault of the performers. With a hot crowd, this could've been a MOTY contender. 4.25 stars."
Thenwoagedbadly wrote on 02.01.2026:
[9.0] "For me this was MOTN. Stiff, dramatic and paced so perfectly its run time absolutely flew by. As with plenty of great matches, the story is simple: Poi needs to overcome Sareee to truly re-invigorate herself and Sareee wants to beat a Poi at her absolute strongest. And, as with plenty of great wrestling, we were made to feel this through actions, not told to feel this through words. For instance, Poi and Sareee's slap exchange completely plays into this story as the exchange started somewhat equal but then Sareee just immediately shrugged off all of Poi's slaps in that tedious multiple-slaps-spot she does and dropkicked the fuck out of her. A sequence such as this makes total sense when considering how Poi's little slaps don't look like they'd break popcorn and, hopefully, Poi will now either get better at this spot to truly hurt Sareee or drop it all together. Masterful stuff from the Sun God. When reviewing the final minutes of this bout, yes, they can be accused of falling into Stardom's habit of their big matches trying to milk the near falls a little too much. However, I'd argue that here the action ends close enough to Poi kicking out of multiple uranages for one to feel the match did not go way beyond the point where it truly should have ended. Poi doesn't win after absorbing a tonne of punishment either which also lessens the possible irksomeness of the final minutes. Great stuff and here's to the, hopefully somewhat soon, next match with both of them in it."

[9.0] "Goddamn what a fight, very good match. I honestly expected Poi to win it, but a nice surprise for Sareee, and leaves the option for a rematch at SareeeISM next year. They kept some back in this match, felt like they were holding back for the big rematch. Does leave Poi in an odd position in Stardom, she's kind of nowhere right now. When she should be challenging for the red belt. Maybe Poi's best match this year, but I don't think it's in Sareee's top 5. Which shows how her year has been."
Bloodborne195 wrote on 01.01.2026:
[9.0] "Natsupoi had spoken of her loss of interest in wrestling, of losing her passion. The two women faced off with this in mind. It was clear that neither was going to give the other any quarter. The exchange of slaps was impressive. Poi was motivated in this match but still needs to improve to get back to her full potential."
Eytexi wrote on 01.01.2026:
[8.0] "The stand-offs, intensity and tempo from the opening exchanges alone signified that we had a great contest on our hands here, Natsupoi taking a brutal bump to the outside and having to fight through a wealth of strikes and excellently applied submission manoeuvres. Sareee's confidence and composure, even on return fire, really served well to emphasise the dynamic between these two, demonstrating the fact that this could prove to be career defining for the underdog. The depth and intent of every cover really served well to show the eventual balance of the contest, both competitors determined to get over the line. Every throw was impactful, every transition was logical. Superb match."

[8.0] "Comment in brazilian portuguese: "Big match sareee" na atividade!

[8.0] "This was a very good match that started off very fast pace and Sareee through Natsupoi on the freaking apron and somehow immediately stood up, that just blew me away. The submission Sareee put Natsupoi in looked very creative and brutal looking. Sareee was just dominating the match for a while until Natsupoi finally started to make a comeback. Natsupoi just started laying in stiff elbows to Sareee while pinning her down to the canvas. Both then just started a stiff sounded elbow exchange and I have no idea how both managed to say up for those. The slaps were also stiff sounding, just nothing was held back during both of those exchanges. That suplex from Sareee almost made Natsupoi land on the top of her freaking head. Sareee was ruthless with those elbows to the freaking back of Natsupoi, I mean no remorse behind those. Natsupoi just kept kicking out of everything Sareee was doing to her, just showed her fighting spirit."

[9.0] "Match of the night for sure - Sareee and Natsupoi worked with each other perfectly. I'm not the biggest Poi fan but i really liked her performance here, she did very good. Sareee as always was fantastic, her wrestling style is so eye pleasing - all those dropkicks and stiff kicks/punches are amazing. I was shocked when Poi kicked out of 4 Uranage's but still in the end Sareee was able to hit it the way she couldn't get up. Overall it was very good, everything went as it should and the wrestling part was insanely enjoyable. ****, 5"
Figure4Dragon wrote on 30.12.2025:
[8.0] "Terrific stuff here; it's drenched in a combative tone that feels like they're truly competing to see who emerges as the superior wrestler while also enriching the match with dimension by playing out a narrative where Sareee is the more dominant, often halting Poi's efforts, while also portraying Natsupoi closing in as she incrementally inches in on Sareee, managing to deliver more offense as the match unfolds, and even developing other momentary and minimal strategies like targeting the arm for a spot. Their work is tremendously impassioned and embroiled in a hotly contested battle that imbues a sports feel. Aside from the initial portion that is psychologically jarring and contrived for its own good, this is pro wrestling done in its simplistic sport-esque nature: two best friends competing to determine who reigns as the superior wrestler. The tone of the match carries that through and through in its powerful and grueling physicality. However, it does have its major flaws, like Natsupoi not selling her back, and the aforementioned initial portion that I wish were crafted differently, because why is Natsupoi having an immediate standoff with Sareee after she got driven spine-first onto the apron part of the ring, and after that, they got inside the ring and engaged in a collar and elbow tie-up? Natsupoi operated in all her glory, playing to her strengths to produce some fantastic work. She spent more time in peril, which is her trademark role, and this also helps characterize the match, building an ongoing narrative beyond just cool action. Poi utilized her speed often in small, rapid bursts to gain some control, and the offense she'd dish out was marvelous from a mechanical standpoint because she's world-class when it comes to mechanics. Her offense work was multifaceted; she got super scrappy, which saw her dish out a fantastic headbutt, and she even played to Sareee's game as well, meeting her in the middle of the ring to indulge in some stiff, powerful, grueling physicality, and she used her aerial stuff as well. Beyond her initial control segment, in which she skillfully executes submission techniques, Sareee emerges as an overwhelming battering force, delivering relentless physicality and unleashing bombs on Poi. ****"

[7.0] "I'm not quite sure what they were going for here, but it seemed like they missed the mark slightly. Sareee dominated as you'd expect, but Poi's comebacks felt shoehorned in and desperate rather than hard earned and hopeful, and the one time she took proper control by going after the arm, Sareee instantly shrugged off the damage to deliver a barrage of strikes. Anyway, the action was decent, but the convoluted story of Poi needing to lose again in order to have her fire relit didn't really translate ***1/2"

[7.0] "Very good match, but a bit disappointing, to be honest. There wasn't a ton of emotion, and at no point was I blown away by anything. It was well-executed, though: the match never dragged and went at a crisp pace, and there were a lot of cool moves, including some of hard-hitting sequences. ***3/4"
Cavazos01 wrote on 30.12.2025:
[8.0] "****3/4 A very great match, but not the best of the night in my opinion. Great chemistry, although I felt they struggled to connect well at the beginning. Very great sequences, very great intensity, a hard and tough fight, a very great frenetic pace. It brought back many memories of the Shibata vs. Ishii or the Tanahashi vs. Ishii match from G1 23. Frenetic, non-stop fights. Although here I felt that because of that same frenetic pace, they failed to sell several moves, as sometimes they ignored the move they had just received to move on to the next sequence. Great ending: Sareee gets her High Angle Explorer to take the victory. The match just barely makes my list of MOTYs"
Some Guy wrote on 29.12.2025:
[9.0] "Great match. Poi and Sareee had a hard hitting back and forth where they were trying to get the best out of one another. As the match went on they escalated how far they were willing to go, which fits in better with Sareee's style which gave her the advantage toward the end. Poi tried her best, but it wasn't enough with Sareee landing four uranages for the win. This won't be the last time they face off, going with the story that Poi needs to find a way to overcome the biggest obstacles to win when it matters. 9/10"

[8.0] "This match, to me, is like DeNiro and Pacino in the coffee shop in Heat. Couldn't do end of year best matches without seeing it first, and while it wasn't quite on the level I had hoped, it was still goddamn beautiful (aside from that very first bump on the apron). Two good friends, who make their friendship apparent both at the beginning and at the end, getting increasingly aggravated with one another. That spot at the beginning where they were tossing one another by their hair with the agitation elevation was beautiful, and then just when you think it is going to build and build into your typical epic battle, it instead just becomes kind of a beating, because little sister needs to be entirely broken down before she can rise up again."

Sareee is the better wrestler, better striker, better all across the board really. But Natsupoi's heart and spirit were stronger, unfortunately, that wasn't enough here. Think this could've been even better had Poi won, but the work was so great it absolutely didn't need that story to be finished."

In many ways the structure and execution of this match served a similar story and function as a Nanae Takahashi Passion match; testing the will of Natsupoi and hopefully setting her up for an eventful 2026. Physical, hard hitting and what I personally want from great pro wrestling. ****1/2"
