[6.0] "I'm glad the babes of wrath won this one. Toni and Mina would've been far too predictable and Willow deserves everything. Decent match with a great moment."

The final outcome was a fine reward for Willow and the rapidly improving Harley, whose victory crowned them the very first champions. A great way to kick off the show"

Toni and Willow clearly stand above their partners in crowd investment and make the vibes slightly wonky. I hope that Cameron's inexperience won't stall Willow for to long and she can get back to a more prominent spot on the card. ***"

Nothing absolutely blew me away, but it was a good match and the crowd were into it and I think the right inaugural champions were chosen between these two teams. Willow and Harley are a really fun pairing and I'm excited to see where their reign takes them and how long they keep the belts for."

[6.0] "I honestly still can't get invested in the tag titles. AEW doesn't really have true tag teams right now, it's mostly improvised pairings. There isn't even great chemistry between most of the teams they've put together Mina and Toni work a bit better, but relegating Toni to the tag division feels questionable. That said, they clearly needed someone with real star power to launch the titles and carry the final. Still, I really hope that from now on they start introducing actual tag teams instead of randomly thrown-together duos. Unfortunately, just giving a team a name doesn't automatically make it a real tag team. The match itself was very basic, without any real standout moments; I probably would have featured Willow and Toni more in the ring. Happy for Willow. As for Harley, I'm not a fan, but hopefully she can improve working alongside Willow."
Eytexi wrote on 13.12.2025:
[4.0] "As expected, Toni & Willow carried the in-ring ability and served to give this a relatively big-match feel. I'm not sure that putting the belts on a thrown-together duo does a lot for the credibility of the new division, but only time will tell. Unfortunately, I've been underwhelmed and disappointed with the tournament as a whole, and this didn't do a lot to combat those feelings despite not being awful."

[6.0] "This was pretty good, but I am finding myself a bit disappointed in Toni performance here. Not that she didn't do a great job, but because I feel like she is one of the best wrestlers in AEW yet she is only showing us a fraction of what she is capable of lately. The match was still very good, and felt very evenly matched with both teams getting in a lot of offense. The one thing I didn't like was the synchronized moves that seem to plague a lot of tag matches nowadays. I also feel like Babes of Wrath is a bit too new of a tag team to be winning the titles, as I haven't really seen much cementing the two."
OperaGanondorf wrote on 12.12.2025:
[7.0] "This was a fun watch and I think that the right team went over here. Toni and Mina didn't need a title run to prove why they belong on the main stage and this is one of the coolest moments for Harley Cameron that I've yet seen. It wasn't a masterpiece but it didn't need to be; it's exactly right for the moment."
DENDY wrote on 12.12.2025:
[4.0] "Harley Cameron is clearly not quite ready for this position, which is a shame because the other three competitors did some really good work, especially Willow Nightingale. I enjoyed this overall, but the clear weak link of the match was slightly distracting. Nightingale got the win with a powerbomb onto Shirakawa in a fine but unspectacular match."
krissy13 wrote on 12.12.2025:

I'm hoping Willow will lend her star power and enthusiasm to the tag titles, giving them some notoriety in the women's division. I just hope they don't immediately get pushed to preshows."
SkyIcons wrote on 12.12.2025:

Standard match past that, picked up a little in the last few minutes. Shocked Willow and Harley won, good call though, I think."

[8.0] "The best match of the tournament. I do wish they were a bit more polished, but hey ho. It's early days for a lot of these tag teams. I thought this was still very good, with Willow in particular being a standout and Harley doing really well too. Toni/Mina remain unmatched. Cool result as well."
GimliJr wrote on 11.12.2025:
[7.0] "Possibly the best match of the tournament, but not an excellent one. The moment Willow broke the pinfall when Toni seemed poised to stop her took me out of the match a bit. Overall, it was still decent, and the victory was surprising. We'll see if Cameron can raise her game and show she deserves this reward. I think we could have done better for what was nonetheless a historic match. In-ring quality: 1.75/4. Stakes: 1.5/2. Justification: 1/1. Placement on the card: 1/1. Suspense: 1/1. Bonus/penalty: none. Total: 7.25/10. Match watched on Triller TV."

[8.0] "This was like a "best of" match for the styles of all 4 women. Everything was executed perfectly for a really entertaining and top notch match. This really set the tone for the rest of the show - fast paced, exciting, and engaging. Toni and Mira have such a great entrance, and that set the pace for everything that followed. There were so many really good exchanges and sequences in the match. Harley Cameron in particular had some really innovative moves - she went from having some technical sequences that would impress Zack Sabre Jr., right in to to a chest-off with Mina which was so cool and really funny. The ending was done really well. Willow and Harley definitely deserve the win. I liked the in ring interview right after the win as well, it made it feel more special. The match was, yes, maybe a little overly choreographed, and I can see some purists not liking that, and the entrances. But I thought it was all great."

Their strikes were just horrible and none of their actual wrestling moves looked crisp or fluid at all. Willow and Toni tried but they couldn't save this. I just couldn't get into this at all and it's a shame the final went like this. Hopefully Harley can keep improving and they can have a solid reign but man this got off to a terrible start."

Not to mention neither the ref nor the commentators pointed it out. Why not just do a Tornado tag? A lot of stuff was kind of awkard. Match underdelivered."

TK is doing a good job with Harley but once again everything is 1) a little sloppy and 2) completely choregraphed and performative. It is not what I enjoy. Willow and Toni were quite alright here though and would love for a singles bout to get the same amount of time."

You can tell Tony Khan couldn't careless about women's wrestling. The Babes of Wrath will have a very long title reign. With long gaps in between title defence"

[5.0] "While the structure isn't the most polished in terms of arrangement, considering the special occasion of the tag belts and the babyface versus babyface dynamic, it was likely the right choice to create something that's energetic and action-packed from bell to bell rather than going for something more traditional. This match offers lots of fun action, most notably the tandem work, and it is complemented by a lively atmosphere. Things do get a bit messy at times, but the continuous action makes up for it. The initial counter wrestling to commence the match with Mina and Harley was neat. A notable thing that happened in this match was when Toni and Willow stepped in the ring to dueling chants, letting you know how over they are. Personally, I do feel like they lost out a bit not working this match, with Toni & Willow having a more prominent role centered around seeming from the reactions they garnered instead of them just blurring into the action. **3/4"

Besides that botched kick from Mina to Harley, it was well wrestled. I was shocked Willow and Harley won, I honestly thought Toni & Mina were gonna win"

[8.0] "A truly great tournament final between two babyface teams in front of a very hot crowd. Timeless Love Bombs kept it to the mat so that the Babes could be explosive and make some great comebacks (Willow's houses of fire are just so amazing). The sequence from Mina's leg trap/DDT combo through the breakdown of both submissions into a brawl was so great, as was the big-match-feel of the Willow/Storm staredown. Mina was the workhorse of this match actually, and she did a good job of it, keeping the one low point of the match together (the strike exchange with Harley that had a mistiming and some weak punches from Harley). Harley's still visibly green but she has a really lovable earnest energy to her work that I can't help but love. Impactful but simple finish that protects Toni, looking forward to this reign. ****"
