[7.0] "Match was going very well until the interference/finish, which felt very flat. I don't care about Ricky's heel turn, it feels rushed and senseless as if we have to turn every upcoming wrestler heel instantly. I much prefer their Heatwave match to this."
[6.0] "I liked their match in August more than this one, but the story was the same - Femi is just way too good, and while Evans is impressive and spectacular, I just want to see him beaten down by much more fascinating to watch Femi. There's VERY few physical specimen like Femi these days, so I want to see dudes like him do great and succeed."
[9.0] "A legacy rivalry is brewing; these two are soulmates, and the only reason this match isn't regarded higher is the unnecessary ref controversy, even though I felt it was creative. Definitely on the rewatch list."
[9.0] "If this match leads to Je'Von Evans winning the NXT Title at Stand & Deliver, this match will go down as an all-time TV match. If Evans gets called up too early, then this match is still incredible and dramatic, but could be robbed of its full potential as a storytelling device. I'm getting full-on Cody vs. Roman at WrestleMania 39 vibes from this one, times ten."
[10.0] "On par with their also great previous match. These are definitely two of the best and brightest prospects to come into WWE in the last few years, and I hope they get all the chances they deserve."
[9.0] "Jevon & Oba have great chemistry with each other & they can never have a bad match but I'm just looking forward to when Jevon will actually win the nxt title. The interference with the Ricky heel turn feels lazy but I'll give it a chance"
[10.0] "Probably, within this current NXT, it's a 5-star match. It's literally a battle of the best wrestlers in the roster. Je'Von Evans is a very young athlete--he's younger than most of the wrestling fans--and he's pulling off incredible feats in the ring at such a young age. Oba Femi is a real beast--literally a gorilla in the best sense of the word--a powerhouse, an incredibly versatile and hard-working athlete, and most likely the future of the WWE roster--an unmistakable wrestler. Together, they put on an excellent match. And if everything happening in the ring isn't 5 stars, then what is it?"
[8.0] "They got this spot on given the time they had and the fact that it was ultimately designed to build heat towards something else on a grander stage ***3/4"
[8.0] "Je'Von and Oba once again showcase phenomenal chemistry. Unfortunately, this match once again does not get a clean finish. Still great regardless."
[8.0] "Absolutely fantastic match. Evans has such a bright future, he is so believable in this match and the stuff he is capable of is insane. Femi looks like a beast and plays the juggernaut so damn well. I just wish the ending wasn't as lackluster, the interference didn't ruin it but the momentum fell off after that and the stakes died. ****1/4"
[9.0] "This feud right here is going to be a feud you won't forget in wrestling history. The Je'Von Evans and Oba Femi rivalry is something they need to have in WWE forever because this can be remembered as Je'Von Evans plays a perfect underdog. This match was great, I thought this was going to be Je'Von Evans' crowning night, but how wrong was I... Oba Femi had a great performance as well, and he pulled away as he still came out as champion, but it isn't because he won clean. Ricky Saints turned heel and cost Je'Von Evans his match, and now we see who Je'Von Evans' next feud is, which will be Ricky Saints, and I think Tony D'Angelo as well. As for Oba Femi, he now focuses on the biggest match of his career as he faces the WWE Champion, the Face of the Company, and one of the most recognizable wrestlers in today's Mainstream World, Cody Rhodes, at WWE Saturday Night Main Event: John Cena's Final Match."
[8.0] "PPV worthy match, with Je'von getting a nearfall early on. There is a slightly slower part of the match, but then it ramps up again. Oba goes over the announcers desk (leading to a comical tumble by Booker). We get a couple more nearfalls, which got me really hyped up. We end with a Ricky heel turn. I think it's clear they're building to the big moment at Stand & Deliver. I have mixed feelings about that (doing the title change at their previous match would have been perfect)."
[7.0] "Two superb competitors who complement each other perfectly and combine with exceptional chemistry. The Saints interference is a huge shame, but does mean we'll be running this back sooner rather than later, so I suppose that's a plus. As a result of the finish, I have to say this narrowly falls short of their previous encounter (this also had fewer 'wow' moments, although it was a tighter contested match)."
[8.0] "Oh yeah, that was brilliant match, that I liked more than Oba vs Ricky. This time it started so fast, active and brutal, so I can't stop to see it. Je'Von trying his best, but Femi also shows his high level. Ricky's interraption was a big surprise, but I expected that Oba won this match. Great main event."
[8.0] "Excellent tv main event. Even though this was a step down from their match at heatwave it is still clear that Oba and Jevon have excellent chemistry. The Ricky heel turn was cool but it seems that they're running out of ways to artificially keep Jevon from winning the title."
[8.0] "Match started strong and it would have been awesome with the crowning. It didn't happen so its just another really good stop In Je'Von catch, a little short too. ****"
[9.0] "A good match between David and Goliath Evans, who was flying around with incredible agility. Femi slowed the match down and tried to show his strength. In the end, Evans could have won, but Saints interfered. Saints was very good; this will be an opportunity to test him as a heel. The fans chanted "NXT! " Femi almost killed Booker T."
[8.0] "An awesome sprint that maximized its TV time perfectly. The chemistry between Oba Femi's raw power and Je'von Evans' insane agility is money. The 'David vs. Goliath' dynamic worked naturally here. The final stretch was electric, especially with the time crunch adding urgency to every nearfall. Evans hitting the RKO counters and the visual pinfall protected him heavily even in defeat. The interference by Ricky sets up the next feud perfectly without taking away from the match quality. Oba continues to be a dominant champion, but Evans proved he is a future main eventer."
[8.0] "I watched this match out of context of the episode and what is going on in NXT in general. This was a brilliantly thrilling match with plenty of exciting and convincing near falls. I would have rated it higher if it wasn't for the interference but it didn't really ruin anything. Really looking forward to seeing SNME now and seeing much more of these two in future!"
[8.0] "****3/4 A truly great match, probably one of the best on a weekly show this year and the best I've seen this year under 15 minutes. The chemistry was fantastic. Oba vs. Je'Von should be a future WrestleMania main event. This is their second singles match, and once again they deliver a Man of the Year contender. The intensity was consistently great, the pacing excellent, and it was non-stop from start to finish. There were some great sequences with both wrestlers having their moments, but the story of Je'Von overcoming Oba was very well told, and this time he came so close to defeating him. I hope the third match is at Stand and Deliver and Je'Von finally manages to defeat Oba. The ending was great, with Ricky Saints preventing Je'Von's victory by taking the referee out. Je'Von attacked him, giving Oba time to recover, reverse one of Je'Von's moves, and then follow up with a lariat and a powerbomb to retain his title in a fantastic match"
[8.0] "Really good match for the NXT title. Evans calls his shot for this episode instead of waiting until New Year's Evil. Evans and Oba work so well together, it's just fun watching these guys wrestle. It did feel like Evans was going to win when he hit that final splash, but unfortunately we get interference from Ricky Saints, which did bring the match down. Oba retains. 8.5/10"
[9.0] "Grab some popcorn and sit back, because two of the coolest guys in the current wrestling scene just put on a show in under 20 minutes. Wow. This match has sequences that make you want to get up and applaud, my god. Give them belts, main events, merch, whatever, these two should be headlining everything. I really hope we get a rematch without interference so these two can absolutely tear each other apart, and if possible, with Je'von walking out as champion."
[9.0] "This match had me on the edge of my fucking seat. This was so close to being better than their first match. It was very fast pace and Je'Von was so close on winning the title. I didn't know if they'd actually drop the title to him. Oba just keeps showing that he's a great wrestler and champion. I knew something was gonna happen, but I wasn't expecting Ricky to turn heel. This was a great main event to NXT"
[9.0] "A very unfortunate end for this match, but still very good. Je'Von was so eager to get his shot, and it all got thrown away by Ricky Saints. I'll be honest, I thought he had it after the final splash. However, nobody can stop the ruler."
[10.0] "Damn Je'von you're lucky you're only 21 otherwise you'd be getting some "buried" allegations in those dark places on the internet. Odd choice to have him cash the shot in now, and pull the trigger on a Ricky heel turn, however it was still a solid banger match regardless"
