[9.0] "Just glorious pro wrestling. Two broken old men throwing every ounce of energy and strength they had to win. This is Kawada's last ever attempt at winning the Triple Crown and it was appropriate he bled for the cause."

[8.0] "I'm not the kind of person that watches cut matches but this time I did. It's really unfortunate that there isn't a full version of this match because those 15 minutes I watched were great. My 2nd favourite match in their rivalry. I hope someday we'll be able to watch the full version of this. **** 1/4"

[9.0] "Version of this match that I found showed only 15 minutes of it, but the amount of violence in those 15 minutes was just insane. Fucking bombs everywhere, big moves and then some. Kawada had blood on this face towards the end of this match, which really helped sell how brutal this match was."

[7.0] "Kensuke went big early with a Northern Lights on the outside, perhaps legitimately taking Kawada out. Looked like he hit his head on the floor and spent a very long time out. The is probably nastiest singles between these two, all the big moves almost looked messed-up to the point of accidentally legitimately hurting each other more than intended; and the stuff that was done fine looked painful. The chops echoed throughout the building, which might have been half-full but the violence and ecstatic, echoey crowd gave it a super raw feeling. It was Kawada's last Triple Crown match and he gave it all he had, even blood, to beat Kensuke who unfortunately for him had way more in the tank at this point than Kawada could muster (kayfabe speaking, perforrmances were great from both). Not sure how I feel about the match stopping after the Northern Lights at the beginning; at points the punishment elevated the match but at other points it became very uncomfortable. Regardless, a highlight from a down year in AJPW."
