[2.0] "Finally, after what seems like ages of waiting, DX is back together, well at least two of them are let's just forget about the rest. They come back for a fairly poor quality handicap match. Spirit Squad was presented all along as a pack of losers and offered no credible threat to the big names, yet still they dragged this match out for what felt like forever. I've seen worse but this was not for me."

I do like that the first half was comedic and goofy and then it got serious when Kenny smashed Shawn with a chair, they did a good job with the storytelling. Of course Shawn is the best at playing face-in-peril. HHH's hot tag was fun and we got some cool Spirit Squad athleticism, then the finish was fantasticly done and a feel-good moment with DX winning."

The Spirit Squad were completely unworthy of being there and no fan looked at them as a threat. Even worse, this horrible feud continued throughout that summer. A 5 on 2 handicap match? That close the the 2v8 cage match with Hogan and Savage vs the locker room."

I think the Spirit Squad should have been given at least some legitimacy before being booked in such important matches. Vince McMahon, who sincerely hoped the Spirit Squad would crush Michaels and Triple H, looked ridiculous... *"

The majority of the match is comedy spots that do the Squad no favors. And when it gets away from the comedy spots, it is a pretty basic tag match. The only good thing is that the Squad have no many members, they all feed for comebacks super well since people are bouncing all over the place. Not a terrible match, but not very good. And it had absolutely no business being the main event."

Nobody takes them seriously, they're only there so Michaels and Triple H can have fun and it didn't serve the business at all. It's not awful as all the guys bumped nicely for DX, but it's so self-indulgent that you can't even enjoy it."

ParkwayDriver wrote on 06.02.2024:

While the Squad gimmick was goofy, there were wrestlers in the group that had potential that were never quite met, Johnny Jeter particularly, and this match may as well have ended them as well as their entire feud."
