[8.0] "This was great, I really enjoyed this. However, I'm quite surprised at what they let them get away with in this match. Page has really excelled in his time as NA Champ, I'd argue that this reign puts his NXT Title reign to shame in some ways. This ranks pretty high with other recent no-DQ style matches in NXT, the chair shots and table spots all looked brutal and helped the match progress. Everything really took a turn when Page attacked Wagner's mask, though I normally expect heels to attack the mask, I was VERY surprised to see it essentially destroyed, nearly to the point of unmasking. Both guys didn't sugarcoat or beat around the bush, it became a hoss-fight fairly quickly. Great spots all around including the coast-to-coast, the moonsault, and the finish with the table. Easy MOTN from this one."

[5.0] "This was... half of a good match! I liked the pacing and flow of the first half of the match a lot. Thought both guys looked really good. Slowed WAY down in the second half and fell into the trope of "setting up a spot for a minute, maybe a couple strikes while you're setting it up, big bump, cover, kickout at 2, one guy stands up and just kinda stares at his opponent." Really killed the pacing of the whole contest for me. Overall averages out to an average score for me but it's frustrating because it could have been better."

[8.0] "Ethan Page defeated Wagner in a Day of the Dead match. The dimmed lighting added atmosphere as both wrestlers used chairs, tables, and skeleton-themed props in a chaotic, high-impact brawl. Page's face paint and Wagner's mask were focal points, with both men selling brutal strikes and inventive spots. Page bled heavily during the match, and the finish came when he hit a Twisted Grin (Cutter) through the table for the pinfall. The match went nearly 20 minutes, longer than expected, but it allowed both competitors to shine. Wagner impressed with his performance, while Page demonstrated why he's one of the best in the world, especially in a gimmick-heavy environment. The result was expected, but the match delivered plenty of entertainment. ***3/4"

[6.0] "When looking at the card for this I immediately circled this match as one to watch, Wagner 3G is sick and Ego has been a bit of a revelation in his NXT run. I didn't see much of anything in the tail end of his AEW run and the match he had with Trick when he arrived was incredibly disappointing, but since he moved into the midcard he's been one of the best guys going in NXT. I have a lot of trouble with modern WWE gimmick matches, especially ones centered around weapons and the lighting here isn't for me (similar to the Sami/KO match), but there are some really cool spots and they start to especially click after the ripping of the mask. Probably my favorite aspect of this was how every time Ethan would get in trouble or at a disadvantage, he'd immediately go for the mask - great heel psychology. I was more positive on this one, but it still leaves something to be desired for me."

[6.0] "[***] A solid plunder match with some heat and both wrestlers working hard. I like El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jr and thought he did well here. Ethan Page is a average wrestler who would have been a good hand 30 years ago but is just on the waterline of acceptable these days. He was sloppy at times but was trying to work a match on the edge of his ability."

[8.0] "Weird match but through no fault of the performers. If you remove the crowd and the commentators from the equation what you're left with is a great plunder match and I don't say that with a lot of WWE hardcore plunder matches. The crowd wouldn't shut up about tables and the commentators refused to draw attention to key parts of the match like Ethan Page's assumedly accidental color or Dr Wagner Jr's hulking up moment. Page is my pick for most improved in 2025 because he is consistently one of the most must see acts in WWE at the moment. His character work is well rounded, his in ring work is so clean and he makes these usually dull fed nodq matches fun. This and his match with Je'Von Evans at Roadblock are the matches that the Sin City Street Fight and the Good Ol Fashioned Donnybrook wish they were. All action, aggression and some very clean and creative weapons usage. Wagner was a great dance partner as well, these guys had great chemistry together and I think WWE would be very smart to have some of their talent work with him any opportunity they get"

[4.0] "They had a perfectly good heel ending for the champ to retain and they just keep going to end up at the same place (just with less momentum). Everything that goes on in this bout just feels unfocused as a result. They could have had Page ripping the mask be both why Wagner comes back and how Ethan defeats him, but it would make too much sense (I guess). Just as they keep going in the finishing and muddle the waters, they do the same with overly long shine and heat segments (and enough back and forth so that not one transition feels that special, apart from the mask one's that they turn meaningless by them not signalling the finish). The lighting was atrocious and Page bleed for no reason (O legit don't know what did it or what was the kayfabe reason if it was supposed to happen)."
Tom LeBlanc wrote on 29.10.2025:
[8.0] "This was pretty damn good. Started off slow but once they found the rhythm it turned into a real fight. Page has that smug, TV-ready intensity while Wagner feels like he stepped straight out of a wrestling museum, in the best way possible. The mask rip spot was perfect, classic lucha emotion mixed with WWE drama. The brawling dragged early but by the end, they sold. You could feel the crowd hanging on every moment."
Eytexi wrote on 29.10.2025:
[7.0] "Really strong match between two superb individual talents. Ethan Page's development since arriving in NXT never fails to impress me, & El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. is absolutely one of the top recruits as a consequence of the AAA acquisition. I didn't really ever believe Page would drop the belt, and the match arguably lacked a big exclamation point moment, but otherwise it's difficult to fault it."
Fifth Pillar wrote on 29.10.2025:
[6.0] "A big fat yawn of a plunder match - just an endless procession of way too many weapon spots in which nothing stood out except the 'oh shit' mask rip, and the finish barely cracked the top 10 brutality-wise. It's a shame because I'm sure both guys suffered heavily for their art, but they still ended up playing second fiddle to a gimmicked piece of wood **3/4"
DeadPinky wrote on 29.10.2025:
[9.0] "Ethan Pages NXT North American Title reign continues to be the backbone of any NXT PLE. This was properly hard hitting throughout, and wince inducing on multiple occasions. When watching with a friend I made some joke about how of this feud had gotten the 19 years of story building that KO v Sami at EC had it would be pound for pound a better match (it's not quite there in a few metrics to me as a viewer, but it seriously is that level of hardcore match quality). I hope they can run it back with a real feud behind them, because these two have serious chemistry. Wagner hasn't been a huge stand out for me in the Worlds Collide showcases, but following this match god damn am I gonna be keeping a better eye on him because he looked like a monster throughout."
Mizzle Assault Ant wrote on 29.10.2025:
[6.0] "Another gimmick match with a lack of any real grit or emotion. Guess Day of the Dead this is just a no DQ match with mood lighting? This absolutely had it's moments with Wagner definitely looking the better of the two in my eyes, but WWE seems dead set on getting over the determined yet inescapably bland Ethan Page."
TomTakagi wrote on 28.10.2025:
[8.0] "Really good match that got longer than I expected. Some of your standard WWE street fight stuff but done well. Ethan continues to show consistency in the ring and I think he's overdelivering."
cfcrusader wrote on 28.10.2025:
[6.0] "This was surprisingly good, considering I literally didn't care, going into it. There were a few good hardcore spots, plus Wagner's mask being half torn off was quite cool. Ultimately we just have Page kicking out of everything and winning, because apparently he never gets his comeuppance."
WhatIsLooveee wrote on 28.10.2025:
[8.0] "Ethan continues to impress as champion. The match wasn't ultra-violent, which added more realism, and all the props used fit well into the narrative. A luchador's torn mask in a hardcore match is a classic cliché, most often used to draw blood, but here it was the story, and Ethan skillfully exploited it until the very end. An emotional, high-quality performance, 8 points."
Eagleupabove wrote on 28.10.2025:
[9.0] "Ethan Page vs. Wagner Junior went unnecessarily hard. I didn't expect them to put in such a banger, but knowing Ethan Page I really shouldn't be surprised at this point. Amongst the chaos, The ripped mask spot had impact towards the end of the match. Also I give Ethan's face paint a 10/10."
Deemon Wrestling wrote on 28.10.2025:
[8.0] "Wow, that 100% was the best match of this show. I'm surprised about this, because Dr. Wagner and Ethan Page aresn't so great on the ring for me, but this time they delivered a banger. Lights add for an atmosphere and extreme moments doing as well. Moment, when Wagner's mask was ripped is very cool and I don't saw something like that."
Trombek Kushinika wrote on 27.10.2025:
[9.0] "I can't remember the last time I saw blood in an NXT match. I'm guessing Page's colour was hard way cos Commentary didn't reference it at all. This match chugged along nicely and there about half way through Page got busted, ripped most of the Drs mask and both guys ramped it up considerably..... They then built and built to a superb finish. Great stuff."

[9.0] "The Match of the Night, and Ethan Page has been money since signing with the WWE. He has been turned into someone who'll have a fine career in the Main Roster once his NXT Stint is over. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., the AAA Latin American Champion, was awesome. He is one of the few elite AAA Talents on their roster, and he showed out in this match. Ethan Page makes WWE Extreme Matches worth it because nowadays it's hard to make an Extreme Style Match look good in WWE, but he always finds a way to. Ethan Page was busted up and had blood pouring on his forehead. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. had his mask ripped open, which allowed him to shift into a different gear and fight back. We saw a lot of anger and rage toward Ethan Page. The in-ring action was a lot of fun, but the ending we saw was Ethan Page crashing El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. through a table to retain his WWE NXT North American Title."

[9.0] "MOTN. Not going to lie I was kinda skeptical on how things would play out between Page and Wagner 3G, but damn, they really put on a blast of a match. Ethan Page has lowkey a very good 2025 in NXT, some of his singles matches delivered and were the best matches on the card and here was no different. Congratulations to Wagner 3G, who showed out in this match and made things interesting, especially after his mask was torn, that changed the whole perception on how the match could end."
Kazuchika420 wrote on 26.10.2025:
[9.0] "Ethan is exclusively having bangers now, huh! Super fun hardcore match that ended up being a lot more violent and a lot better than I expected. They actually got the crowd into Wagner Jr. (who wrestled a great match, especially considering how different it is for him) and the neargalls were nice. Some creative spots, some trashy "hardcore" of the sports entertainment variety, but at the same time -- lovely intensity throughout. Ethan is on a rum of his life and the good Doctor definitely gave him a great match. (Page getting juice was also helpful)"

[8.0] "Very good match for the NA title. They made good use of the no DQ stipulation, and the Day of the Dead visuals were interesting. Good story here with Page being disrespectful and ripping Wagner's mask, which got a great reaction with an enraged Wagner becoming more aggressive from that point on. Some big spots with well done near falls as the match went on. Nice finish with Page throwing powder in Wagner's eyes then putting him through a table to retain. 8/10"

[8.0] "Ethan Page vs El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. was a great Day of the Dead match that used the stipulation well to have a smartly worked plunder match that had a satisfying crescendo. Both men told a strong story w/Page ripping his mask and triggering a more aggressive style coming out of Wagner. The luchador is so talented in being able to work a hard hitting, strong style with some impressive high flying maneuvers like the double jump moonsault. In the end, Page has turned into one of the most consistent highlights of NXT since his arrival in 2024 (****)."

[6.0] "This was okay. Ethan Page continuously delivers solid matches in the midcard, but I can't get particularly invested in his work. There's a distance between good and great that he exists in the middle of for me. I liked El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr's reaction to the mask ripping, and the finish looked good. Well paced for a match of its length, but not heated in the way it maybe could have been. Still, a decent time."

[9.0] "Ethan Page vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2025 was a standout clash that exceeded expectations. Billed as a "Day of the Dead" match for the North American Championship, the bout blended hardcore elements with theatrical intensity, resulting in one of the night's most memorable showings."
sarahlicity wrote on 26.10.2025:
[8.0] "Ethan Page is a man on a mission, ever since The North broke up five years ago, not to be seen as the Janetty of the pairing even though his seemingly inevitable status as that has even made the basis for a couple of promos. And by god, he's making a good attempt at succeeding, walking away with what might just be another match of the night accolade when the dust settles, despite -- like back in July -- some silly stipulation work. Though, in the end, like in July, he made the stipulation work to his advantage, giving us a very fun WWE-style hardcore match. After being through the wringer ever since 2.0, Ethan has done a lot to rehabilitate the North American title into something worth something. Good match!"

[8.0] "Another fantastic defence for Ethan Page. The choice of match was a bit random at first but when figuring that it was just a glorified Halloweeny rename for a no disqualification/extreme rules match was fine. A good back-and-forth action. Interesting unmasking which caused Wagner Jr's momentum boost but also his demise and defeat. Good spots, fun weapondry selection as well. Genuinely becoming one of the best reigns for the NXT North American Championship. Good stuff."

AverageNXTEnjoyer wrote on 26.10.2025:
[8.0] "Well, if this continues, it'll be impossible not to consider Ethan Page the best NA Champion in NXT history. He's had countless incredible matches, consistently among the best of the PLEs he's been involved in. This match was very good, featuring mostly chairs and trash cans (typical of a WWE hardcore match), with "All Ego" retaining the title thanks to a twist of fate on a table. The champion's blood, the dimmed lights, and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.'s torn mask also created a very interesting visual. A very well constructed match."

[9.0] "Ethan Page vs El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr ****1/4. Another great match for Ethan Page. Who seen this run coming when he originally first joined the company. His run in NXT has been awesome. Ethan bleeding added a lot to this match with the get up he was sorting under the day of the day gimmick since Halloween is around the corner. Dr Wagner was awesome here, how he fired up after Ethan Page ripped his mask was so beast. He should be the one that eventually dethrones Ethan Page. This match ruled"

[10.0] "Man, Ethan Page might have perfected the WWE style hardcore match. I sometimes struggle to enjoy them, but he has had multiple ones that werent just good, but amazing. I have been watching Wagner 3 for a while now and rate him super high too, so I was super high on this match going into it, but I didn't expect it to be one of my favorite WWE matches of the year. Great heat from the crowd, they were super into this. Some good looking blood capsule action, which is about as much as you can expect unfortunately. Some very dignified and earnest fighting spirit toward the end. I thought this match was very well laid out and paced. I honestly don't have anything negative to say."
Moranjeboom wrote on 26.10.2025:

Keithnelson18 wrote on 26.10.2025:

Dr Wagner was pissed the F off when Ethan ripped off the top of his mask. Ethan has just been having great match after great match."

[9.0] "This match started a little slow but damn, they cooked towards the finish. The chair landing from Ethan Page looked painful af. Both them did great in the match and had the crowd completely behind them! Great match. Ending could have been a little better as I'm not a huge fan of powder finishes since it's usually a half fast finish but didn't take away from the match too much."
