[7.0] "A solid, yet excessively and unnecessarily long four-way match. In what world do these four get 40 minutes for a midcard title ! ? The weird stipulation did not help, but somehow someway, they managed to make it work. Obviously, Chris Jericho and Too Cold Scorpio pretty much carry the whole thing, but Douglas and Pitbull did their thing and some more with that chaotic one-on-one to finish. It's a mess yes, but a fairly good one. [ > 7.5/10 ] *** 1/2"

Jericho and Scorpio were the 2 best wrestlers and they were eliminated first. Also the whole having to tag yourself in was very awkward to me."

I may return to this match later in my life but for now, it was a drag to finish and it was even more difficult to get into at all. The sloppiness of this match does coincide with the typical ECW sloppy fight style, it's just slopped together to do it. I thought Chris looked the best out of anyone here and after he was out I was too."

[9.0] "This was a fantastic match. It's one of the most highlighted matches in ECW history and is definitely the highlight of Chris Jericho's run in ECW. The match went almost 40 minutes, and everyone had something to contribute. Jericho was the champion who could wrestle, Scorpio could pull off some cool high flying moves, and then you had the story between Pitbull #2 and Shane Douglas. The match benefited from overbooking, what with the constant tags and the brawl in the crowd between Jericho and Scorpio. I will say though that Scorpio's finish on Jericho did miss him by just a little bit. Where this match got the crowd most excited was between Pitbull #2 and Shane Douglas. The heel turn made by Francine, the power bomb spot on Francine through a table, the way that Pitbull #2 would not quit until he made a mistake and Douglas capitalized. It was all great. Don't go into this match expecting a technical match, this is purely for the entertainment and storytelling. ****1/2"

[8.0] "This four-way has tags, so only two men are in the ring at the same time. These rules stop the action from being too hard to follow, but there are moments when things become contrived later on with non-legal men making pin attempts. Douglas attacks Pitbull #2 with a chair before the match officially starts while Scorpio and Jericho open the match with some impressive exchanges. Pitbull #2 wants Douglas, but they do a fantastic job of holding it off and building to it by having Douglas being a chickenshit. Douglas was great in this, only tagging himself in when a legal man was down and tagging out if the heat got too much for him or if Pitbull #2 wants in. The middle portion of the match with Jericho and Scorpio starts to get dull as there's not much in the way of character work and they are just supporting cast to the Douglas/Pitbull #2 storyline. I did love Scorpio dropkicking Jericho while he was in the middle of landing a Lionsault though! The Francine turn was pulled off to perfection and I didn't see it come. I did think that her turning and getting put through a table by #2 minutes later made for some mind-baffling booking. Surely you want to build up to a turncoat manager getting their comeuppance a bit more than that, right? Clocking in at nearly 40 minutes, this is a mammoth of a match to get through, but they kept me interested by keeping the stuff between #2/Douglas bubbling under the surface during the duller parts of the match."

[8.0] "Often referred to as ECW best match, and with good reason as it does contain most of what made ECW great on the occasions it was great. Three top notch wrestlers here, and Pitbull 2 looked decent with some help from the others, and we got a good mix of wrestling, brawling and outside interference. The biggest complaint is that is was a fair bit too long, it did not need to go half an hour before the first elimination, and I'm not sure eliminating Jericho first was the right move. It was still a very good match, and well worth watching."

Jericho is in phenomenal shape but he is the first one eliminated (by 2 Cold on a legdrop that misses completely) and the elimination comes after a long and anti-climactic build. The rest of the match isn't much better, filled with interference from the valet and Pitbull 1."

Scorpio stood out to me the most in terms of the action itself but the story between Douglas and Pitbull really drove the story in a good way. I even liked the final twist, and the crowd ate it all up."

[8.0] "Great match, long match. The main storyline in this match was the one involving Pitbull #2, Shane Douglas and Francine. If you came across this match as a Jericho fan he puts in an okay showing and gets eliminated first as the champion at 27 minutes. If you're not a fan of man on woman violence this match is also not for you. ****"
