[6.0] "I know a 6.0 is a little harsh, but to be honest, I'm not crazy about this match. It wasn't bad by any means, and for pandemic era wrestling, it did it's job. And there were certainly entertaining moments. But, it's hard for me to say that this type of silliness works with me when it largely doesn't. I would've wanted this match to be more violent, or more like the Anarchy in the Arena matches we see later on. This match isn't bad, I appreciate what AEW and all the performers were trying to do with it, but it was just too silly for me to say that I'd want to watch this again. It didn't help that the promo package before it acted like they were going in seriously and with real stakes - clearly, that wasn't the case in the actual match. It's alright, don't regret watching and I'm not offended by its existence. Just not really my flavor in wrestling, even when it comes to goofy wrestling."

There's a lot of pandemic era wrestling that i love, but one thing i'll never miss is the concept of cinematic wrestling. Completely spoils this medium of what makes it unique and vibrant."

I will give it a slight pass because covid era Wrestling was very strange in general, but this is the parts of AEW that I do not resonate with. silly spotfests, bad comedy antics, weird timing throughout (I thought Kenny especially stunk in this match.) Need to fill out the character limits now, so will just say that I thought Hangman riding out his wonderful, handsome steed was a fun part of chasing around sammy. I hate being in that "Cornette Camp" but he was on it here IMO"

[9.0] "This is kind of impossible to rate as a match but that doesnt change the fact that i found this to be incredibly entertaining. This is filled with so many great comedic moments which only work as well as they do because of how committed to the bit everyone is and how everyone's performance here matches the absurdity of the stuff happening around them. The Matt Hardy pool stuff would not work in any other context but both he and Santana and Ortiz put in such fittingly over the top performances that it actually ends up being quite funny. In terms of individual performances i thought Sammy surprisingly stole the show here. Im not a fan of his usually as i find his wrestling and character work to be a bit grating but in this context he genuinely adds some great stooge humour to every moment he's a part of. Whether it be him being chased down by Hangman on a horse or by Kenny and Hardy in a golf cart or the shot of him regaining consciousness after being sprayed with the sprinkler or the ongoing bit of him being hit with the locomotion Northern Lights suplex across the entire length of the field, he's a part of a lot of the best moments of this match and he enhances them a lot by being genuinely funny. In terms of action it is just a lot of walking and brawling with a few cool dives interspersed between courtesy of the Bucks. The only consistently great part of the match action wise was the stuff between Hager and Hangman who engage in a pretty well choreographed bar fight, but if you're looking for a great wrestling match you wont find it here. Despite that though, there is still a lot of enjoyment to be found here even 6 years after the fact. Some sections do run a little long but overall, i thought this was a very well put together, creative and most importantly entertaining piece of pro wrestling stupidity that was one of the best things to come out of the strange world of pandemic era wrestling. ****1/2"

I loved the fight between Hager and Page at the bar. After Omega and Page are done kicking Jake's ass, they had a drink together, but Omega had milk instead, that was funny as hell for some reason to me. Jericho putting on that traffic cone and doing that weird ass laugh caught me off guard and had me dying. Page coming in all drunk just spraying a white line on Jericho was so random I couldn't help but laugh. Bro, I had a fun time with this match. The ending with Kenny killing Aammy with that One Winged Angle was amazing and a great way to end this amazing match. {wrote on 15.09.2025}"

Jake Hager was really protected in his exchanges with Hangman and Omega and Matt Hardy had the better of both Santana and Ortiz, none of this makes any sense in 2025 but I guess it did in 2020. Hangman Page was also a very different version of his character which is strange to see. The amount of actual wrestling was minimal but in a covid era and in a card full of normal matches, it's fine, so, for what it was, this was a fun and harmless match."

One of the only matches that would only work during the pandemic and will always be a record of something super fun and original. If today we have Anarchy In The Arena, thank this match for paving the road with such boldness and crazy. We have several gems in this match such as Hangman's charcter work, Jake Hager in the best performance of his career, Broken Matt always being something that entertains us and Jericho with some super comical spots and the match also closes with the biggest One Winged Angel ever, we can't evaluate this as a normal match, so I'm not going to put a star rating here."

A match that is still so much fun to this day. A match that is truly unique. Just an absolute blast watching this. The Inner Circle jerseys, Sammy running from the horse, the moonsault of the post, the 100 yard Northern Lights. The bar fight was so sick, especially the Buckshot off of Kennys back. Sammy getting chased by the golf cart again with Bryce running beside had me dying. All of Matt Hardys antics. This match was done to entertain and that's exactly what it did. Everyone had some moments in this and I was just smiling the whole time whether I was watching it now or back in 2020."

In some ways, I'm sad that era is over since insanely creative stuff like this isn't really feasible in wrestling anymore. I love everything about this match - Hangman on the horse, Matt in the pool, the hundred yard Northern Lights, the line marker, THE BAR SCENE. Pure fun to watch. It also seems to be a match that helped a lot of people during the pandemic, so I appreciate it even more for that. Best part of the whole thing for me has to be the bar sequence with Kenny, Hangman and Hager. Even on a rewatch, I was dying laughing throughout it. And of course, I have to mention the finish, which had Kenny hitting the most massive One-Winged Angel in history on Sammy to win the match. From top to bottom, an amazing experience and the kind of match that makes me love wrestling that much more. *****"

Theres ten people here, youd think thered be some kind of story progression or character development for any of them, but for over half an hour, all of that has been paused in favour of a silly spotfest. Im not entirely against silly spotfests, but after an angle this hot has been built, there needs to be some kind of pay off and there just wasnt. The only character moments I can think of all involve Hangman at the bar (easily the highlight of the match) and the only spot that really impressed me was the One Winged Angel that ended the match, everything else was too cartoony and didnt have the weight or brutality necessary to pay off the feud. Sorry guys, not for me at all this one."

Personally it was a sad time for my life but then for 33 minutes I was able to forget about it. This match made me forget about what was going outside and I was able to have fun for the first time in a very long time. This was the perfect match at the perfect time. It was a modern day classic, one of the best matches I had ever seen up to that point. But after over 4 years with the pandemic now gone, did this match hold on to the curse of time? Yes, it fucking does. After 4 years is still makes laugh and entertains like it was the first time. A timeless classic, that's what this match is. Whenever you're bored and you have a good 30 minutes of free time, watch this match and you won't regret it as every single second is going to be worth it. So much stuff happened here: Matt Hardy changing gimmick every time he'd be underwater. The whole bar fight with Hangman and Hager. Jericho hitting the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot with a judas effect and then challenging the call of the referee after a nearfall. Matt suplexed Sammy through the whole field to hit a touchdown however he got penalty for his celebration so he superkicked the referee. See how fucking crazy that sounds? And there's still plenty of stuff like this. This match is one of funniest things I've ever seen in my life, let alone wrestling. Whoever didn't find this match funny probably has problems with feelings. This was a total blast, a once in a lifetime spectacle that will never be duplicated. *****"

Part of the reason for me is because this was right in the middle of the pandemic and no one knew when live event would continue and this match made me forget about that. The whole ppv was actually really good but this was a pure rollercoaster ride. I wouldn't want this type of thing regularly and since the pandemic is over there's no reason to do it. The Storytelling isn't that Great Aside from Adam Page just going to the Bar, he was the only that Made it Interesting. The Inner Circle as a Stable still feel thrown together to me & I'm not massive Fans of Them though I do think that they should've won here to Help Continue Sowing the Division between Page & the rest of the Elite. In Ring Work is Creative & Entertaining but nothing Mind Blowing expect for the Finishing Spot with Omega & Guevara. I also thought the Matt Hardy changing Characters in the Pool was Cool. Jericho's side does have some rather poor workers and Jericho himself being quite annoying at times, but that was fine, literally nameless jobbers could have been in their spots and it would have been watchable because The Elite are a blast to watch in a setting like this. But Hardy's presence in my opinion really took away from it, spent way too much time on his sluggish and quite unfunny segment. Most of the rest of this match is fine aside from the start which is kinda of boring and the rest of Hardy's appearance, however this match does have a really great bar fight."

However, this reminded me more of the second Anarchy In The Arena match between the Blackpool Combat Club and Elite that in my opinion wasn't nearly as good. This kinda just feels like a compilation of what everyone thought would be cool spots with a lot of directionless brawling in between while everyone waits for their turn to do a big spot. Its always been weird to me that Kenny Omega is in so many of these kinds of matches because they really don't fit his wrestling style at all. The whole drawn out Matt Hardy segment in the pool is easily one of the worst thing's the company has ever put to video."

All the guys involved and all the different "scenes" made it drag and feel way too long, despite some entertaining segments. It was funny but I would much rather have seen these teams square off in the ring, funny is not really what I'm looking for in a huge PPV blowoff match like this. I wouldn't mind seeing more matches like this in the future because it did manage to be entertaining--but not as the main event of a tentpole show."

Matt Hardy transforming into different versions of himself while posing under water. Ortiz being afraid of getting into a three-foot pool because he doesn't know how to swim. Adam Page and Jake Hager having a genuinely great bar fight, with Kenny Omega bringing in the reinforcements to make Hager look like more of a monster than he has at any other point in his career. The Locomotive Northern Lights Suplexes that spanned 100 yards. Nick Jackson running the steps to hit a Splash through a table. And Page using the line-marker on Chris Jericho to render him effectively out of the match. Even Sammy Guevara with his premature celebration, thus leading to another wild chase with a golf cart and one of the craziest finishing spots I can remember. Part of me says five stars, part of me says it's impossible to rate this match. For now, no rating, but damn I loved this."

They haven't been able to find a way to work a cinematic match into a live crowd broadcast. Which is a shame, becasue it allows for so much creativity. It allows wrestlers to bigger spots more safely, with cuts. It allows for ridiculous exagerations of moves that don't force the wrestlers to get hurt while still telling that story. Even as we have moved past the pandemic era, this match holds up extremely well and is a joy to watch."

It fails at telling a story through the framing device of a combat sport, which is the point of pro wrestling for me. The reason why I decided to watch this was the intriguing concept. I'm fully rooting for wrestling promotions that are trying to innovate the basic idea of a wrestling match. Just like TNA did with Ultimate X or Matt Hardy's Final Deletion, AEW did it with Stadium Stampede. Kinda cool that Matt Hardy is the one who puts post-modernistic spins on modern pro wrestling. It wasn't as groundbreaking as X-Division matches or the cinematic universe of the Hardys, because it's basically falls count anywhere at the stadium, but the idea to go all out on a stadium is great. Maybe this match lacked a few bigger spots and by the end it turned more into a comedic farce, but still it was so freaking hilarious to watch. The pool/bar sequences are pure gold, plus some solid wrestling action from everyone involved. Also, good to hear JR commentating again with so much wit. Good ass job!"
