I was sure it would end with both women walking out with their titles. However, this really just adds to the amazing year Kamitani has been having. She's a star."

[9.0] "That was a hell of a match. Pretty well in ring booked (I will explain) for what I concern, when you have two wrestlers like Saya and AZM, slow pace would suck so bad. HATE interferences didn't looked bad on paper and knowing they just happening at the beggining, I am cool with that. The match kept on fire and at the same time, they were able to protect their finishers, Saya only did the Star Crusher when it was time to seal and done the match. She quite became a complete wrestler out of nowhere, her in ring knowledge looks insane for someone so young, she knows what she need to do to make a world title match looks interesting, besides being so athletic, quick and fast paced. Usually, when some wrestlers reaches that point at her career where she is able to do anything she fucking wants, we call it "prime". Yeah, I guess we can say that on her case scenario. AZM was quite off from what I expected but she still delivered a good bout, did her great insane moves always pulling that roll up we never know when it will end an match. I quite prefer their last bout an month ago, but this one also delivered."

[9.0] "Bro, I loved this match. The opening sequences in the ring were great as always. I didn't expect both women to fight up in the stands. That part was probably the worst part cause it was unneeded. Saya was dominating AZM for half of the match, even the elbow strikes from AZM weren't effective enough to keep Saya down. Saya gave a brutal stomp to the ribs of AZM. and AZM fires back with a stiff kick to the side of the head, and Saya somehow manages to stay up for give her a dropkick. That fucking counter into an armbar was a thing of beauty, I mean AZM just caught Saya in mid-air to lock in a beautiful armbar. AZM gave a nasty looking destroyer to Saya, not just one, but two of them, and somehow, Saya kicked out. That was unbelievable. AZM decided to do one from the top rope and Saya still managed to kickout of it. Saya just giving AZM brutal headbutts and a nasty looking suplex. I have no idea how these two managed to keep going after everything they've done to one another. Unbelievable match here, just a fantastic match."

Kamitani is good, not who I would book on top but she holds her own, my biggest gripe is the insistence to throw lots of sketchy looking headbutts which I just don't enjoy. AZM's wrestling is gorgeous and I look forward to her eventual top title victory."
ZachTheOddBall wrote on 06.11.2025:
[8.0] "Very good for the most part. Saya looked amazing here while AZM was a bit inconsistent. Her attacks on the arm were great but numerous times, she seemed to forget to target it and either hit way too many destroyers or use the left arm as a gateway to go after the right (injured) arm. You could say that it led her to losing but the amount of destroyers hit in this match was also ridiculous. Thankfully the HATE interference was mostly left out of this one besides that one random stint at the beginning, allowing practically all of the match left between the two."

[7.0] "Of course it's good, AZM and Saya Kamitani are always good together. Their rivalry is full of believable intensity and hard hitting moves but they need to evolve. I liked this match in the same way as I liked their match from the 5Star Grand Prix, it would be so much better if they didn't resort to the same old match structure and tightened things up a bit. These matches don't end at their peak and that start off with immediate brawling to the outside and as good as these two women are, I grow tired of seeing the same match over and over again"

Kinda weird brawl in the crowd that didn't lead to anything, just odd moments like that through out where the idea fell short of what they wanted but it was still a high level of work."

Aura momens defenitely presist in this match and the selling was not as disasterous as in some AZM perfomances. If it was 15 minutes match I'd give it the ame 8 points I gave on 5STAR, but after 17th minute or something I started to feel really bored, felt like they are doing the same fake ending again and again. The reverse of hurikanrana by Kamitani was pretty cool and saved the actual ending."

My only issue was that it felt like the closing sequence went on a little too long and maybe missed the peak a bit, but this is a must see match and both AZM and Kamitani continue to deliver in big spots."

I just really enjoyed this match, performed in front of a packed Korakuen Hall. The sequences were often mindblowing, if you are a fan of counter wrestling, then you will thoroughly enjoy this. Sometimes I wish there was a bit more selling, but I'm not going into a STARDOM Red Belt defense expecting 80s Mid-Atlantic selling."

AZM and Saya kamitani have good chemistry with each other usually and the closing stretch was very good I would go ****.25 on it, they had the potential to have a *****"

[0.0] "Okay, I'm not really a fan of most of Stardom's recent stuff, but from time to time I get interested in their matches that are rated very highly. On paper, I wasn't sure if I'd like this or not, and I had no expectations before watching it. After watching, my opinion is clear with my rating: it's a 0 for me. The structure was really not good a lot of things felt unnecessary, and some parts were overwhelming. I just couldn't get into it at all. The moves were executed without any real meaning or follow-up to build on. They didn't show up in the match as part of a story; instead, the moves just felt empty. Even the way they were executed was often bad and awkward. It felt more like they wanted to "show off" than to tell a story in the ring. Both wrestlers weren't good here, at least in my opinion. I'm just not a fan of this type of match at all. Unfortunately, it wasn't good in any aspect. For me, the essence of wrestling is meaningful sequences and psychological storytelling not just throwing moves out there without a goal"
Tom LeBlanc wrote on 01.10.2025:
[8.0] "A true main event with a big fight aura. AZM's intensity and speed meshed perfectly with Saya's, making a dramatic bout. Some of the move repetition was a bit much but the crowd was hot and the chemistry carried everything. For my first real look at Saya, she definitely lived up to the hype. A strong showing from both that closed the night on a good note."
Roangoddard wrote on 30.09.2025:
[5.0] "It's personal preference, I just can't enjoy a match in which the limb work, which there's plenty of here, is completely ignored throughout. Both women are obviously very athletic and extremely talented (and still young, so I do believe they'll improve on their flaws that were evident here) but this match is full of cool move after nasty strike, all of which have no actual bearing on the story of the match itself. There is some stuff to like, particularly towards the start of the match. I liked the callback to the finish of their Grand Prix match with Saya kicking out this time, this was one of a few well executed near falls that have you questioning whether it's the end."
benny5bellys wrote on 30.09.2025:
[6.0] "Self indulgent tripe. I will credit them that they have serious athletic ability and clearly over with both the local and overseas fan base but this was just deeply frustrating. AZM threw everything but the kitchen sink at Kamitani, far and above what should be able to bring a match to a close but just like that Kamitani makes her come back and wins. It would not be an issue if she had shown the audience she had to reach the very depth of her soul to find the reserves and strength to make the come back but nope, just your standard fighting spirit scream and come back while ignoring all the work that AZM had done to her arm which made all of that feel like a colossal waste of time. A match for the gif generation."
Galdr wrote on 30.09.2025:
[7.0] "A lot of buzz around this match, but I found it merely OK. It was excessive as Saya Kamitani and AZM tend to be. I counted at least four Canadian destroyers and AZM repeatedly worked Saya's arm over but none of it mattered. This was too self-indulgent."

[9.0] "Hell of a match, result was obvious but Saya and AZM brought it. Had a couple of near falls that had me questioning the result, AZM is so damn good at that. Saya seemed to be late on a kick out atleast once too. Maybe a couple too many kick outs from finishers, AZM hit a few Destroyers and Saya with the Star Crusher. I do wonder if she'll use the phoenix splash again, maybe when she turns face down the road. Not sure what's next for AZM, but appears she's out injured for now. Maybe Goddess tag tournament win? Saya now faces Momo who calls her shot against the double champ. I hope the bets for Momo, but it feels like Saya is going to be a triple champion, win the IWGP and maybe unify the titles."
Fifth Pillar wrote on 29.09.2025:
[6.0] "They paced this like a Grand Prix bout and then tagged on an extra 8 minutes in which they just kept hitting the same finishers until AZM relented. I mean, Kamitani survived FOUR destroyers (including an avalanche) and kept throwing strikes with the arms Azumi had been decimating. The execution was mostly fluid, but the overall feeling I was left with was one of So What? ***"
epaff wrote on 29.09.2025:
[8.0] "A very good match between two of the best STARDOM has to offer. Kamitani and AZM have tremendous chemistry, and this is another example of that. The closing stretch could've been better. AZM repeatedly hitting Canadian Destroyers for near falls is something that plagues her longer matches. For such a talented performer, it's a bit disheartening to see her rely on just hitting the same move over and over when we know that the finish isn't coming. The first 20 minutes or so were very strong. 4 stars."
Animago wrote on 28.09.2025:
[8.0] "A nonstop bomb fest seasoned with occasional, inconsequential arm work from AZM. Kamitani and AZM's chemistry is on full display resulting in an highly enjoyable match that tries too much for its own good and forgets some fundamentals along the way. Selling was minimal (not a big deal since it is neither strong point) and too many dramatic kickouts without the storytelling to make it truly satisfying."
AlexLikesJoshi wrote on 28.09.2025:
[7.0] "Very good match but not able to reach the heights Kamitani has hit consistently as White (and now Red) champion. Their GP preview has a far stronger performance from AZM who still struggles when asked to break past the 15 minute mark in her big matches."

SlothFacts wrote on 28.09.2025:
[7.0] "I've gotta give my first critique to the production work on this match. The camera angles chosen were basically always the worst possible angle on anything. There's a sequence early on in this match where Saya and AZM do a ridiculous capoeira-esque whiffed strike exchange of the kind you expect two younger indie folk to do, and while I think they were swinging nowhere near each other anyway, the shot we got inexplicably made them look like they were in different zip codes. It was consistently horrible shot-selection and camera placement that robbed the match of drama and impact. With that said, even under the most generous assumptions about how much better this could have been with better production work, there's no way this would have been more than an 8 for me. AZM looks the part of an 11-year veteran (if you compare her to other 22 year olds, she's off the charts), but Saya looked unbelievably green. Much of her offense looked weak, and her selling was weaker. Late in the match, AZM climbs the top rope, and Saya just stands straight up, barely looking wobbly at all, and marches around hulking up for a few seconds, leaving AZM to sit dumbfounded on the turnbuckle before she went for the interrupt. I dunno, I'm not gonna judge Saya too harshly on one match, I've not seen her before this; but here at least, her instincts and impulses did not seem ready for this level."
Cavazos01 wrote on 28.09.2025:
[8.0] "****3/4 A very great match, they surpassed their 5STAR match without a doubt, it is not the best of Stardom this year but it was at the level of the best, great chemistry, very great constant rhythm, a lot of high speed wrestling mainly from AZM and Saya following that rhythm but a little slower to add her intensity, very great intensity, constant hits and kicks and some great headbutts from Saya to AZM, very great sequences and kick-outs, the main detail of the match is that at times AZM accelerated the rhythm too much and perhaps did not let breathe enough between sequences, something that Saya handles perfectly, and around there the handling of AZM's Destroyers and roll-pins which are not very much to my liking, great ending with Saya reversing an attempt at an armbar from AZM, and transforming it into a normal Star Crusher that AZM would kick-out, then Saya finishes the match with a Kamigoye followed by the Star Crusher with a twist that would be Definitive to defeat AZM, retain her title and win the NJPW Strong title. Saya is one of the best wrestlers of the year, I don't think she's the best but she's among the best and this fight is a MOTY Contender that adds points to her"
ConnorLynx wrote on 28.09.2025:
[10.0] "It was obvious heading into this one that AZM wasn't winning, but goddamnit she can make you believe! This was absolutely class, an incredible way to follow up on their stellar performance in the 5STAR Quarter-Finals. For as much as she's criticised for her heel-work, Saya really brought out the best of AZM's babyface side, forcing her to fight with all her resolve. At it's core, this was a high-speed bombfest, and while that formula normally isn't really compatible with a main-event title match in STARDOM, Kamitani and AZM both made it work, and this was a really enjoyable 20+ minute match. [****.75, bordering on *****]"

[10.0] "This was absolutely stellar, their chemistry was absolutely unbelivable and they clearly surpassed their great previous match making it look like easy. After the Avalanche Destroyer this turned to be MOTYC stuff where I baited to every kick-out and one was better than the other. From strikes to smooth technical wrestling to the parade of bombs in the end this was no short of amazing, easily my 2nd pick for the Joshi MOTY. *****1/2(5, 5*/11 out of ten)"
Some Guy wrote on 27.09.2025:
[8.0] "Really good match. With the World of Stardom and Strong titles on the line, this had a big match feel going on. Starts off predictably with crowd brawling, which I am tired of because it's the same thing every time. Once they got back in the ring and actually started wrestling the match got much better. AZM got away from her high speed style and focused on mixing in some submissions to throw Saya off, which told an interesting story of Saya having to find different ways to get back in control. That part of the match was excellent. Unfortunately, the match dips in quality when AZM begins spamming destroyers and the moment Saya kicked out of the top rope destroyer you knew where this was going. The final act devolves into finisher spam where somehow nothing is able to keep Saya down before she wins. Some restraint would have been nice, but they can't help themselves. Not surprising that Saya won, it wouldn't have made any sense for her to lose. 8.5/10"

The sequences were amazing as well as the near falls I thought maybe azm could do it but saya ended it. Both have had a phenomenal year with still a lot left in the tank. Another match is needed where Azm wins hopefully"

[7.0] "The first two thirds, of the match was fantastic. The pace was frantic but controlled, the work smooth and logical, and the near falls were structured in a way the crowd genuinely bought into. But then it just... kept going. The extra stretch of near falls felt like diminishing returns, either the crowd didn't buy them or they were too spent to react as strongly. It lean to the former, as I also stopped buying them. It was to the point that it genuinely undermined my enjoyment of the previous part of the match. I am to some extent a "if it works it worked", so if the crowd just kept peaking, I would have eaten my humble pie. Quite the shame when they had genuine "AZM might actually win" near fall reactions at first. Still, a very good match overall, especially from an athletic perspective. I honestly enjoyed their previous match this year a lot more which I thought was fantastic. I definitely think that AZM is a great athlete, but she tends to do better in shorter matches as of right now."

Picked up a little bit with some great near falls from AZM but after Saya kicked out of multiple Canadian destroyers it was clear she was winning. Saya didn't sell her arm at all after AZM worked it for a good couple minutes. Way too many finishers. Some good high spots, not much else here."

Both these women deserve all their flowers. With that said this match falls short of both women's best work this year by enough to only get the 9 imo. Also I think AZM vs SLK and Saya vs Tam are their best work this year respectively."

Very good match that might have its detractors due to the near falls & close calls but it was part of the story they were telling. Both proved they are excellent talents in this war of a match to anyone who still had any doubts."

The chemistry was outstanding like always when these 2 collides, every punch was delivered with passion, every counter was smooth and overall the action was very fast paced. Destroyers from AZM are just things of beauty but what's event crazier is that Kamitani kicked out of every single one and it the end Spinning Star Crusher from Saya was enough to secure the victory. Actually i'm kinda surprised they went for a definitive winner and not a draw but considering things that Saya-sama is doing all over Japan and how impactful and important role she's playing in promoting STARDOM and women's wrestling it's totally understandable. After the match Momo Watanabe came out to challenge Kamitani for both titles - i can't wait for those 2 to clash. Overall the match was amazing, i wouldn't say 5 star as i believe they have even better match in them waiting (hopefully in the future) but still it was banger of a match that deserves every recognition. ****, 75"
