[9.0] "Probably their best one-on-one meeting against one another. I've never been a big fan of the Coffin stipulation, but I can't deny how great this was. Absolutely brutal stuff throughout this. Allin and Moxley are two of the most twisted people in wrestling."
[8.0] "Mox & Darby were really trying to kill each other here, Darby took some brutal bumps and mox had his ear cut through, Pac returning was cool, looking forward to what's next. (4.0*)"
[8.0] "This pay per view has been cooking since the tables n tacks match. I thought PAC was Wade Barrett based on how he looked. Darby and Mox did well as per usual."
[8.0] "[4.0*] Fantastic match, MOTN and the 2nd best of the weekend behind Mistico vs MJF in my opinion. I loved how they differentiated this match from the other plunder match of the night already at the beginning, where Darby and Mox brawled on the crowd. This was a very hot start and that Super Coffin Drop was crazy. Whole match was amazing, I loved how the focus here was on violence instead of big spots, they were just trying to inflict damage on each other. Darby's ear-work on Mox was absolutely beautiful, one of my favorite limb works this year. He also took the majority of the most insane bumps and almost died a couple of times. That Mox Gun Stun on the outside was an underrated amazing moment imo. PAC's return was great and he looked absolutely fantastic, I was wondering which Josh Barnett dagestani MMA friend was debuting lol, fucking awesome. That PAC Razor's Edge on Darby on the coffin was disgusting and a very believable brutal heel finish to keep the story going."
[8.0] "As if this show needed more brutality, but its certainly welcome. Darby getting started early for some crowd work added to the "street fight" feel, and Mox complimenting with his own offense before taking it to the ring. It was also a nice touch seeing Mox shoo off the death riders and leave the match between the two competitors. Both guys just squeezing the blood from each other for 15 minutes. PAC's surprise return ended up being Darby's demise, and cementing the Death Riders dominance. The visual of Darby in the coffin being carried out funeral style just added to the dejection surrounding the match's finish."
[6.0] "A match which was very heavy on storytelling, which is not a bad thing but I expected more knowing that Darby is the king of the genre and Moxley is always up for some crazy spots. It was good but I expected to see some more wrestling and less walking around the coffin which stood in the middle of the ring."
[9.0] "Arguably on par with, or even better than, the I Quit match. Darby attacking Mox during the entrance was fun, and the two really convince the audience that they're actually trying to kill each other. PAC's return was also nice, and kicking the coffin closed was a good touch to end it. (8.75/10)"
[3.0] "I watched this post-event out of morbid curiosity. As a "death match", I can imagine it's a great watch if you enjoy this kind of stuff. As a regular person, it is, at a number of moments, a deeply difficult and disturbing watch. I would not even give it 3 if ranking my own personal enjoyment - I truly don't believe there's room for this level of non-CGI violence within entertainment - however have appreciated some of the comments from other users who do enjoy the match style and can understand this is probably one of the better examples."
[10.0] "I enjoyed this a ton but it makes me wonder what other crazy stuff do they have planned for there I quit match because I thought this was really crazy. Darby truly is a mad man & I thought the PAC finish worked because the death riders as a whole needs to be a thing & Darby should get his win finally over Moxley overcoming every one of them"
[9.0] "My MOTN. I never get tired of enjoying these two's matches, and they're probably the only ones who have a full-fledged story that led them to this particular clash. As for the match itself, these two are moving forward, never forgetting the path they've left behind. Darby is seeking revenge for his ear, biting Moxley, remembering his mentor, and his aggression is portrayed perfectly. The nature of their confrontation is evident from the very beginning, when Darby attacks John again during his entrance. They showed the ill-fated package again, John gave a lecture and kiss Darby, and so on. Despite all of this, their sadomasochistic chemistry is still astonishing, and the match is amazing because of it. I give credit to both of them for putting their health on the line in such battles to make them meaningful and exciting. Pak's return at the end was a good event, and it once again showcased John's underhanded nature. The kick to close the coffin (the Death Riders' coffin, by the way) was the icing on the cake. I am waiting for their confrontation to continue."
[8.0] "[4 .0*] Moxley and Darby are one of this guys that simply have a incredible chemestry together. I really like the way Mox shows anger and true hate towards Darby, and the way Darby retributes this feeling is out of this worlds. I confess that I don't love this stipulation. I think when all you have to do is shut your opponent down in a casket, the match turns out of focuss and all they care about is the damn casket. However, I think Mox and Darby did an incredible job in making this match believable and not caricat. I really enjoyed the spots and the brutality, and to be honest, I didn't have a problem with the interference this time, since this is a NO-DQ contest, not a 30-minute singles match with a ref bump. Anyways, I'm really happy to see Mox finally coming back to form and it's finally showing his true qualities. Darby is a manace and I'm absolutely terrified of this I Quit Match these two will have at WrestleDream."
[8.0] "Great bloody brawl between two insane guys. From All In and Darby sending a threat from the top of Mt Everest to this match, the build up was fun. Darby and Mox really have chemistry to destroy each other. I appreciate Danielson trying to help Darby with the plastic bag before PAC's return."
[9.0] "It could have been the best match on the show. Creepy and creative spots all around. I'm not a big fan of Darby Allin, but he and Mox worked really well together. The overbooking with buzz-cut Pac ruined the overall vibe of the match. It's strange that such a strong Mox needed help to beat Allin."
[9.0] "This was an amazing coffin match. Right away, you could feel the intesity when Darby attacked Moxley during his entrance, and they fought throughout the crowd. There was also quite a bit of blood by Moxley's ear, and there were tons of painful-looking spots. 4.5/5."
[9.0] "Just when I thought I have seen the MOTN, here comes Big Mox. A fantastic match to say the least. It was intense, rough, disturbing and with some crazy-ass bumps. Darby getting payback with the fork was great and the dive right into the coffin a sick moment. The entire thing felt just like it was supposed to be, full of violence and hatred. PAC's return was a nice surprise and did a great ending for the match. I loved it, a very, very good brawl."
[5.0] "Let's be honest, do we really need to mutilate each other for a match to work? The excessive violence came off as grotesque and added nothing of real value to the story. Up until that point, the narrative was being told very effectively, but the finish dragged it down. That said, it's clear this isn't the end of the road for the Death Riders."
[7.0] "Good for what it was, but nothing new. Both guys are willing to put their bodies through hell, but at what cost? That doesn't suddenly make it a classic. And there were a lot of Moxley's crew in and out of this one, which made it feel a little disjointed."
[8.0] "Absolutely brutal. Moxley continues to prove himself as one of the biggest MVPs in the company after a rough start to 2025. He doesn't need to be wrestling weekly, putting on matches with mid card talent, but he does. Darby shows his death wish never went away, highlighted by a particularly nasty bump at the hands of Pac (absolute beast i might add). Not a ton to say about this one. I think "Moxley vs Allin" in a coffin match is what you see and what you get."
[9.0] "Excellent, probably I wouldn't imagine a better match from these two for what I got. The storyline itself didn't made any sence for my taste, Darby was fighting all alone against like, a stable with five, six members? Technically that would be bad booking but the way it worked was enjoyable for me. They build the match like a methodical brawl, not only making the coffin the final dot of the match, actually also using it in their moves, something that we don't see in much of the Coffin Matches. PAC return was great and a important key to show that at this time, Moxley indeed beat Darby, it was so close. Next time...the result will be different."
[8.0] "Another match between these two and another sensational match. Love these guys facing eachother. I love this whole match except for the finish being a return of pac helping Mox when when Mox sent the rest of the riders to the back? I think that should have been the story the first time he try's to do it without the riders and he looses idk might've been something there. For sure gonna get us another match between the two. While I enjoyed it for the most part I think the finish messed it up slightly for me. (****1/4)"
[8.0] "Before the match, Darby had never beaten Moxley. The match started directly in the audience and I love it when wrestlers fight in the audience. This match allowed us to really exploit the style of the wrestlers, the aggressiveness of Moxley who likes to bleed in big matches and the crazy spots of Allin. The Death Riders wanted to intervene but Moxley sent them away. Bryan was able to get revenge on Moxley by giving Allin a plastic bag. At the end, we had the comeback."
[9.0] "Amazing violent bout that could have been even better given the ending not getting cut like that. They are still doing another match so probably they are playing the clean finish there. ****1/2"
[6.0] "Nothing we haven't seen before. Mox isn't very good and Darby needs a ring leader. Both of these men's worst instincts were on display. No selling and bad booking ideas from Moxley and dangerous stuff with no regard to his own health by Darby Allin. There was no story, no build, no logic or psychology to this and apparantly this was a way to get Moxley back on track to drain all of the ratings out of AEW."
[7.0] "Had quite high expectations for this one and even though there were some cool spots throughout and Darby especially put in a really good performance I would have much prefered a 1 on 1 scenario and with Darby going over. The shot with the Death Riders on commentary side made me laugh because they look like the most unimpressive group of people and it takes me out of matches every time they come out like this big threat (genuinely think only Shafir looks like you wouldn't want to mess with her of the ensemble cast - not great). Not sure where Darby goes from here and not sure what this win does for Moxley. Hope they don't continue the feud when this should have been the blowoff."
[8.0] "The action explodes immediately with Darby ambushing Moxley in the crowd. Blood fly as they tear through the arena, each spot sharper and more savage than the last. PAC's return is shocking, but it leaves the finish feeling more like a tease than a payoff. Darby's fearless chaos meets Moxley's calculated brutality making every hit count. It's messy, violent, and gripping. Enjoyable brawl!"
[10.0] "First of all the intensity level of this match is off the charts, and the desperation of Darby to win here is exemplary. These two guys wanted to kill each other and they went to a level of violence rarely seen. First Darby attacks Mox while Mox is making his was through the crowd before an awesome coffin drop from above a crowd tunnel onto the level below. Perhaps in this match the name vomitorium is more appropriate. As they reach the ring you very clearly see Mox take a blade out of his pocket before Darby takes it and cuts Moxley's ear. I know that's how you get color, but somehow being very explicit and obvious about it made the act much more gruesome than it normally seems. Darby then does a suicide dive into Mox and a standing casket and the two fall over as the casket lid slams onto Darby's back. That was nasty. Later both get the casket lid slammed on their hands which looked brutal. Eventually Danielson gives Darby a plastic bag like the one Mox used on Bryan last year, and Darby uses it to suffocate Mox, hitting a code red then doing Danielson's stomps which is one of the best spots I've seen. While Mox had sent the Death Riders to the back earlier in the match, PAC makes his return at the end, and it seems he does in fact own shirts and pants. He throws Darby from the ring on top of a casket on the outside (ouch) which essentially ends the match. While the ending might not be the most popular, given that many people want the Death Riders story to end, I don't think it takes away from what the two accomplished here. A horror show like the steel cage match at last year's All Out, but fought at the intensity of the Swerve Hangman TDM."
[6.0] "This was fine. Nothing special since we've seen this stuff happen all the time. I did enjoy bits and pieces of it, like Bryan subtly giving Darby a plastic bag to get revenge for what they did to him last year. Overall, it was everything you would've expected. PAC returning never really excites me because every time he comes back he gets inured a few months later. ***.5"
[1.0] "Caveat: I really don't like Moxley or gross stuff in matches. The match starts with a rather high coffin drop from Darby but the majority of the beginning of this is them fighting in the audience. There's traded back rakes and ear biting which is super gross. Moxley blades his ear. Moxley's stooges are out pretty early in this as well. Then there's gross screwdriver spots. Moxley blades again. Then we get the fork. More biting. This match is looking like a 1 or a 0 for all this gross stuff in it. Then an asphyxiation spot with plastic bags. Just when it finally looks like it's going to be over there's interference from one of Moxley's goons. I really can't think of much I would dislike more than this match. I guess there was no blood drinking or syringe spots so it can earn itself a 1."
[8.0] "Very brutal, but with more than enough set up and pay off to make for a very satisfying watching experience. The let down came at the highest peak and didn't overextend it's welcome. It is not a resolution, but it is a much more satisfying second chapter to the rivalry (the first one was stealing the title shot at WrestleDream) than you would expect and leaves you wanting more."
[6.0] "Stunts, bumps, blood, sub-Reigns chitchat, murder-cringe and some weird psychology from the heels, all to set up the return of the only man on earth who somehow manages to look like a roid monster and a smackhead. Strangely overcooked and unsatisfying ***1/4"
[9.0] "Jon Moxley vs Darby Allin was a wild and crazy Coffin Match that had a level of brutality that was so different from anything else on the card even Tables N Tacks. Both men brought it in a match that could work as its own horror movie with the villain always having some backup to overcome the valiant underdog hero. Great to see PAC back even with the haircut (****1/2(."
[9.0] "I don't think there's a match that comes close to this one on the All Out show, which in insane considering there were some incredible matches on that show. That's how this match is good, in my eyes. It's a clash of personalities, two larger than life characters portrayed by two people who embody those characters and play those roles perfectly. More often than not, personalities and characters get lost in plunder matches; this wasn't the case. And that made the match feel so special compared to many others, even more violent, matches that we've seen. The action was scrappy, raw and brutal with Darby throwing everything he has at his opponent, per usual. From a coffin drop into the crowd to stabbing his ear and forehead with a fork. Batshit crazy stuff all around; classic Darby. Moxley is in a league of his own right now for me; he's simply incredible. Everything he does just connects to me; he makes me feel like few others can. These two always had great chemistry, and this was their best match. Every moment delivered and every spot looked great. Darby choking Moxley with the plastic bag (given by Danielson) was SO satisfying and the ending with Pac's return was shocking. Darby takes one final fucked up bump onto a coffin before losing, which I didn't expect. Post-match stuff with Darby lighting Mox on fire backstage was even more fucked up. Great, great work from everybody here. ****3/4."
[7.0] "(Grade:C/***) A good effective coffin match, Both Darby & Jon didn't waste a second getting the action going with Darby jumping Moxley admits his entrance really liked that diving Coffin Drop! Also loved that suicide dive from Darby to Moxley that sent both of them into the standing coffin was sick! PAC return was unexpected and caught me off guard seeing him help Moxley to victory."
[8.0] "Darby and Mox just tried to kill each other the entire time, it ruled. The bag spot one year after Mox did it to Bryan was awesome. PAC returning is cool, clearly this isn't the blowoff to this feud."
[7.0] "7.5 - Good, emotional hardcore match. Really liked the first tope into the coffin. PAC's return is great to see but ultimately another relatively underwhelming finish."
[7.0] "Some creative spots and moments in this one. Nice callback to the damaged ear. Especially with the finish there is more room for what is to come next in this feud, looking forward to the madness that they will come up with next (Inferno match? )"
[10.0] "I really liked the gore and violence in this match, Mox and darby really know how to work a match like this while doing very cool spots like when darby did a tope into moxley into the coffin, cant wait for their next and probably final match of this feud which could be a exploding barbed wire death match (? ). ****.75"
[7.0] "Exactly the car crash of a match you'd expect from these two. Darby Allin took multiple sick bumps and Jon Moxley took a fork to the head so both guys were working with their strengths as well as both of them being great at selling hatred. Couple of misses from production, Darby took a Samoa Joe bump on the steps and it was missed and while blading Mox's ear the camera angle could've been better to suspend disbelief. I'm also not totally sold on how key to Moxley's victory Pac's return was. Had Pac just done a simple run in and not just handed Mox the victory I feel like it would've been a more effective finish"
[8.0] "I'm half minded with this faction, sometimes I like them and sometimes I don't. Either way, this was a sick match. I love how there were clear difference in the type of matches both hardcore matches were. One was a bit comedic and this was serious. That is why AEW is superior. When you put this two men in a normal wrestling match, it's a sure thing to see blood so imagine a coffin match. Darby is such a daredevil, man sees no pain or feel no pain. One thing is for sure, once he's done with wrestling, he is going to get a bad backache. Jon winning thanks to the return of PAC weren't in my card. I was expecting Dardy to win and get this feud over with but PAC ruined it. Speaking of PAC, damn man. He looks like that one quiet kid who came to school with a new haircut his mom gave him and is pissed about it, with the friends laughing at his back because they are to afraid to say it to his face, he looks ugly. P.S. love Bryan expressions throughout, something tells me we might get the Dragon back in for one more match. P.P.S. a sidenote, love Kyle man."
[8.0] "The Death Riders are unstoppable. Brutal despicable violent match that pissed me off at the endm Great great piece of business! The ear work myyyy goddddd jesus. The paper bag spot watching Mox get stomped on was sooo cathartic it just wasnt quiteeee enough. ****1/4"
[8.0] "Pretty much another snuff film here. Mox and Darby have never really missed in any of their matches, and it's funny that the company decided to wait 6 years to give them a proper blood feud that has exponentially raised my interest in both wrestlers. Gnarly stuff, as well as a fun surprise in PAC returning to help Mox win. Judging by Darby trying to commit arson, this feud is not over. This was a great base for anything to come. ****1/4"
[9.0] "Yeah this match was fucking great and might be the best coffin match of all time if you ask me. This match had fucking every thing you could of asked for it whilst also still leaving something's on the table for one more match. Darby Allin you crazy motherfucker he once again took some of the craziest bumps you will ever see in a match starting with the Coffin drop from the crowd at the start all the way to Pac throwing him onto the coffin on the outside at the end. He got the start of his revenge on Mox for FD as he tried to bite Mox's ear off and then did an even more brutal version of what hanger did at All in with the fork to the head and the tope to put them both in the coffin mid match was fucking crazy. I loved Danielson giving Darby the paper bag to help him out to try and kill Mox to get revenge a year on from his own betrayal. Jon Moxley you are that guy he delivered another sadistic fucked up performance beating the shit out of Darby and also taking some crazy bumps and violence that Darby gave him. The finish with Pac coming back to help Mox whilst Darby was chocking him to death and allowing him to get the win as it sets up both a match between Pac and Darby (sick) and sets up one final match between Mox and Darby hopefully a barbed wire rope match. Also i will included what we saw later in the night were Mox wanted to end Darby alone but Darby fought him off and stuck him in the body bag and fucking set him on Fire which was fucking crazy. Yeah overall this match was as violent and fucked up as i expected it to be and i am slightly worried for the things they are going to do to each other in the next match they have as it could literally be death. (****1/2)"
[10.0] "This currently has a very respectable mid 8 range rating on Cagematch... and yet I can't help but feel it's being terribly underrated anyway. Who knows exactly why? Perhaps some folks were turned off by some of the more gruesome moments, perhaps some didn't like that there was interference. Some may be still fatigued with Mox's strong winning record even after dropping the title. However, none of that bothered me a bit, I LOVED this match. This pairing has always been a favorite of mine, they seem to have rare chemistry even by the standards of Darby, who has chemistry with nearly everyone. There's something beneath the text that makes them work together so well I think, the many ways they are similar as well as ways they are different. Mox's violence goes down to his very core, it's always buzzing in his brain, but Darby seems even further down that path, he is violent movement at all times. It's his very nature, to throw himself into the maelstrom without hesitation. It makes for a beautiful, bloody combination as these two quite literally rip into each other with everything they've got, from the hot start in the crowd complete with a wild diving spot, all through devastating bumps onto caskets and every other surface, stabbing with forks and beating with pipes, a veritable torpedo shot straight into the coffin, and under all this the gritty, groping animalistic sense of the match, nothing done simply for the sake of it or to show off toughness, but a tooth and claw wild race to the finish line, whatever it might be. If this had been Darby's time to finally defeat Mox I would have gladly accepted it, but the return of PAC is also welcome and it seems the true climax of this story still lies ahead of us, which I am also looking forward to seeing. Considering the events after the match, I do wonder if we might not see Moxley for a little while, talk about a pyrric victory. Anyway this was wonderful, I would rank it as my #4 match of the year and, while I need to circle back to some other matches on the card, I did prefer it over the much lauded work title match (also a great match, to be sure) and I doubt anything else on the night will unseat it as my favorite."
[9.0] "I had high expectations for this and it absolutely delivered. As good as a lot of matches on this show were, this was comfortably my favourite. Starts off with a wild crowd brawl before they make their way towards the ring and things start getting real violent. It doesn't take long for them to start cutting eachother open and taking nasty bumps onto the casket. The level of violence might turn some people off here but I think its more than justified here and Darby and Mox both know how to make it work within the context of the match. Both guy's performances were top notch here too, Mox especially. After getting the upper hand on Darby he sends the Death Riders to the back and for the next few minutes starts viciously working him over. It's his overconfidence that allows Darby to start fighting back though and it's clear he didn't plan for the tricks that Darby starts pulling. He makes an excellent scrappy comeback and starts going to town on Mox with a fork that he hid in the turnbuckle. Then, in probably my favourite part of the match, Danielson on commentary slides Darby a bag containing a plastic bag, the same thing that Mox used to choke him out with at the start of this run, which he uses to choke Mox with. It looks like he could get the win here but Mox has one final ace up his sleeve, a returning Pac. Pac beats down Darby, launching him outside onto another casket and lays him down inside the coffin in the ring essentially setting up Mox to steal the win. An awesome conclusion to an awesome match, further painting Moxley as a coward and a hypocrite who can't get things done on his own. This was exactly the match I expected it to be and I loved every second of it. I can't imagine how they're going to top this but knowing the lengths that these 2 usually go to, I'm sure they'll find a way. ****1/2"
[8.0] "Not as great a match as I had hoped but still a very good contest between these two. At times it did feel a little slow and like moving from spot to spot but for the most part it flowed well and had some great moments."
[9.0] "Hell yeah, the best match of the night and the first time on the PPV where I REALLY had the time of my life, that was a wonderful match, one of the best in the entire year for sure. Mox and Darby had this violent and vicious contest, where everything connected so well, it was a blast the whole time, every spot worked and it's rare to have a match where everything just works. The brawl on the outside to begin the match was an excellent choice, to kick things off with dynamism and establish the match as a frenetic and personal contest, everything was very deep here, Moxley and Darby go way back and this was meaningful, it's great when matches mean a lot. The ear work that Darby did on Moxley was awesome, I loved it, his ear was bleeding a lot and Darby kept punching and focusing on that, it was also a pretty cool visual. The pace of the match was flawless, and I loved the nasty spots, like Mox reverting Allin's suicide dive on a cutter, and the kiss of death. Bryan Danielson's involvement in the match was fantastic, he absolutely NEEDED to be on commentary for that, and in the beginning of the whole thing, he promised to not get involved, but after things were looking good for Darby, and Mox sent the Death Riders away, Danielson helped Darby giving him a bag, which was revealed to be the infamous plastic bag, the weapon they used on Bryan and many other wrestlers, the trademark of the Death Riders, being used against Moxley, an all-time satisfactory moment, and even considering what happened later, it was great to watch that payback. Darby was hitting Moxley with the Dragon kicks, but when we all thought he was winning, PAC returned with a great look, he had a shoot-style posture and is looking like a killer, so he threw Darby on the coffin outside of the ring, which was an INSANE bump, and helped Mox to win the match. That was so good, it would obviously be better if Darby won, but it's a sacrifice so the story can continue, and man it just leaves everybody with that bitter taste on the mouth, he was so close, but the Death Riders prevailed once again. Formidable experience, it had an awesome level of wrestling and storytelling, the match meant a lot and Bryan Danielson sold the entire thing masterfully too... every moment had a meaning - {****1/2}"
