[8.0] "I wasn't happy with this being the Paris match for Cena, and I'm honestly still feeling the same about it. But something I won't deny was that this was a very good match. It does take a bit to get going but after that it's just good wrestling combined with Cena hitting all the tributes which I loved. I was worried for a moment that Logan would win, which absolutely would've impacted this match because that's 100% the wrong result to go with. But thankfully they didn't do that. The crowd was easily loudest for this match, but you'd expect that especially considering when Cena hit a styles clash."
[8.0] "Logan Paul being able to have good matches with the right person doesn't make him a good wrestlers. But I digress, this was a really fun match that got the crowd excited as the match catered to both Cena and Logan's strengths."
[8.0] "This match was very entertaining. The tributes were awesome I always love when wrestlers do the moves of other wrestlers. On top of that there were a lot of cool moves here. Logan Paul's athleticism is just great. Even if you hate Logan Paul you can't deny his athleticism is awesome. Despite these positives, there are two main drawbacks with this match. First off the whole thing felt very rehearsed. Pretty much all Logan Paul matches feel like that and this was no exception. Second Logan Paul was pretty sloppy at moments. Like there was one moment where Logan went for an uppercut and he punched Cena's chest. He also tried doing the 5 knuckle shuffle on Cena and he missed by a lightyear. I understand Cena isn't the best at that either, but Logan was next level bad. Overall a very good match with a few flaws. This was definitely a worse version of Cena vs Styles Crown Jewel in every way but it's still a thumbs up."
[8.0] "I was there, and as a proud French fan, I can tell you, this represented more than just a match, this was a celebration! The match itself is alright, but it represents so much more as a whole, and the live experience remains unforgettable. In retrospect, and if I'm being perfectly honest, the match has its limits, but it still works. Logan's work on top is decent, his body shots are great and he's a legit heat magnet so it makes for quite a dynamic. I like the little tributes to other wrestlers here and there, but that Styles Clash is such a perfect touch, especially in France where AJ is so adored. Sure, it relies on big moves and kickouts, but you get Super Cena elevating Logan Paul significantly while giving us a memorable win on top of that. As a live experience, this is a five-star moment. On a rewatch, this is not as enthralling but still a whole lotta fun. ****"
[4.0] "The presentation of Logan Paul is so confusing. On one hand, he's a scumbag, attention-seeking heel. On the other hand, the influential sports voice of Michael Cole is telling you that Logan Paul has never had a bad performance and is a good wrestler that you should actually respect. Logan Paul is a guy with a lot of natural athleticism who could probably be a good wrestler if he put in real reps and developed as a wrestler. However, given that he's wealthy and American pro wrestling is not currently designed to develop talent, he will likely never reach whatever potential he may have. What that leaves us with is essentially a rich backyarder, spamming taunts and doing a bunch of moves without the snap of a professional. I feel like I slipped into a weird shadow realm during this match. This wasn't a match as much as it was two guys doing a bunch of moves in front of a crowd that was vaguely paying attention, if only to know when to chant "simplement deux" after every nearfall. There was no kind of connective tissue or attempt to link any of these moves together. It was just a bunch of disconnected shit happening for twenty minutes, then having the announcers tell me how great it was afterwards. Wade Barrett told me that if I didn't think Logan Paul was a top-five competitor in the WWE, I was "blinded by hate." I wish I were blinded during this match, then I probably would've imagined a better match. **"
"Logan Paul is who aew haters who glaze WWE think Will Ospreay is. He had his moments where he was competent but he's legitimately so bad now lol. Seeing folks eat this match up (probably cause of how Cena looked, fairs, is quite shameful tbh). Come on y'all"
[8.0] "These two wrestled like they've been in the ring together for years. They had great chemistry and it resulted in one of the best matches of the year. An absolute classic that will stand the test of time. Cena has genuinely been putting on some of the best matches of his career recently, and Logan Paul showed once again why he's main event caliber star. A classic encounter between these two. 4.5*"
[5.0] "***1/2 Interesting match, but not entirely to my taste. Good chemistry, they worked well together, some good sequences, although somewhat simple, interesting pace. They opted for a slower, more deliberate pace where it seemed they were building something more, but as it progressed, nothing clear materialized. There was no increase in pace, Logan dominated the match too much, and I found it very boring overall. The ending was good with that sequence where, surprisingly, both Cena and Logan sold the exchange well. Logan takes an Attitude Adjustment, Cena goes for a second, but Logan, with his last bit of strength, strikes Cena. Cena rebounds off the ropes, avoids another blow, and then hits another Attitude Adjustment to defeat Logan. A good match, but it becomes very boring, and they could have done better by cutting it by about 6-7 minutes to make it more even"
[2.0] "Logan Paul is a lifeless avatar. He brings nothing to wrestling except for his athletic ablity. Here, he wrestles one of the greatest WWE stars of all time and Cena had to basically wrestle a broom, trying to bring any life to the match. its a bunch of big moves with very little in way of a story. A few years ago, Cena could have made more of this but it just doesn't work when he's the only one trying."
[9.0] ""I really can't believe what I just saw. Logan Paul entered with his usual arrogant and haughty personality, but John showed him that wouldn't get him anywhere. Logan's demeanor slowly changed throughout the match, and he wrestled in a real way--not just for viral moments. John Cena delivered a phenomenal performance, far better than his SummerSlam outing. Logan Paul was wonderful too, and the storytelling was excellent. I may be exaggerating, but I'm genuinely shocked. The match was so good that I plan to replay it after the show ends." ****3/4"
[8.0] "I still don't like Paul whatsoever, but I can't deny that I thought this was good. It's really just a compilation of both guys, basically, saying "look at this move I can do, " but it was still entertaining nonetheless. A bit long, in my opinion, but still one of the show's stronger matches."
[8.0] "[7, 5/10] - This match was entertaining, but definitely leaned a bit too far into self-parody for my taste. John Cena and Logan Paul have great chemistry, and they delivered plenty of athleticism and big moments, but the layout sometimes felt more like a "greatest hits comedy reel" than a serious clash. Logan looked sharp as always, and Cena can still turn it on when needed, but some of the exaggerated selling and overly cinematic beats took me out of it. Still, the crowd was hot and the final stretch landed nicely. A fun spectacle overall, but not quite the classic it could have been."
[4.0] "It honestly felt more like a parody than an actual match. Cena tried to hold it together, but Logan's sloppy execution and nonstop finisher spam made the whole thing feel like a hollow highlight reel with zero story behind it. Sure, the crowd popped, but as a match? It was empty and completely forgettable."
[5.0] "same as cena's match vs styles, looks like "doing best WWE finishers" video than an real, structured match. no-sell from cena also killed it for me, Logan Paul remains a wrestler who just can't tell a story in the ring"
[7.0] "Decent enough match even though it sadly involved Logan Paul, who played the cocky heel here very well. Good pacing which began with Logan getting the upper hand on Cena before Cena managed to get the scales even. Some good moves executed by both and they saved many of the bigger spots for the end which was a good addition for the pace they were working. Logan stealing Cena's Five Knuckle Shuffle was a good moment that made him seem even more cocky. Nice ending with the AA and Logan briefly countering before Cena hit the second AA for the win. Not an opponent I really wanted from Cena's retirement tour, but I'll take it for it is. 100th win for Cena and his last match in Europe, not bad at all"
[7.0] "Would've been the MOTN had this been literally anybody else wrestling John Cena. Not a technical battle at all but still did good in delivering fan service, especially the Styles Clash. This really just should have been given to an actual important figure in Cena's history or a better young star. (7.5/10)"
[7.0] "This was the stand out match in the entire show. Logan Paul proves *again* that he is unfortunately very talented. Now, this match didn't excel in the traditional sense, but rather it was PURE fanservice. Both Cena and Paul spammed finishers of Cena's past rivals and some were of other people, most notably (for me) was Paul's very solid buckshot lariat. Super fun match in a boring PLE."
[3.0] "What an overly long and drab crowd-milking bore. Cena could not save this whatsoever (but he did try) as Logan Paul is utterly terrible. He messed up the buckshot twice. He hit a Swiss Uppercut to the pec. He no-sells an AA to hit his finisher to have Cena no-sell it for the finish. The crowd even seemed confused by some of Logan's moves (swanton/standing moonsault combo) because he doesn't sequence into them whatsoever. This was simply flat-out bad."
[4.0] "I understand what Cena was trying to say with his match, but I was never truly engaged. It felt like a festival of pointlessness, a match for the sake of a match, something that could have been skipped without losing anything. All those references came off so meaningless that I wanted to roll my eyes. I don't mind callbacks, for example, Kenny Omega, in the match where he won the G1, referenced previous Bullet Club leaders, but that made sense in the context of his situation. Here, it was just bait for a reaction, and Cena is successful in that, I'll admit. Still, I didn't like the match (**)."
[9.0] "It did went too long than it needed to, but this was a surprisingly fantastic match between both men with really amazing action, spots and psychology between each other, the crowd was electric throughout it all, Logan put on one of his best singles performances in over a year at that point, and Cena put on another fantastic performance, trying to make up for lost time on his retirement tour after the failure that was his 2025 heel run."
[9.0] "2018 NJPW Cena's back for *checks notes* four matches, and being 2/4 through the series it's incredible to see this revival of his character. Being a quintessential late 2010s wrestler, he hopes you're only seeing the PLE matches and video packages since the weekly storytelling is frankly naft. This match felt like a legend was showcasing his favorite parts of wrestling, while a young heel got to kick out of everything under the sun. Yeah finisher spam critiques are fair, but to me as a viewer it largely added to the match quality (even if it exaggerated how dumb Logan's lucky punch finisher is). on paper it was the playing of hits everybody expected, but given the context of the performance It felt closer to Kenta v Kobashi."
[7.0] "Cena's farewell stop in Paris had the crowd electric, singing along to his theme and staying loud throughout. Logan Paul continues to prove he's both a natural heel and a natural athlete, even if his style leans flashy over cohesive. Cena let him shine, even pulling out tributes like the Styles Clash, which popped the crowd. At times it felt more like a spot reel than a story, but the atmosphere and effort carried it. A strange but memorable addition to Cena's farewell tour."
[4.0] "By the time I was screaming "end this" at the screen they still had 10 more nearfalls to go through. I fucking hate this modern match formula. I hate Logan Paul's lack of p**** and I don't even like to see Johnboy under circumstances such as this."
[5.0] "Yeah not a huge fan of this match as a whole, the crowd was super hot, it will definitely be remembered as a match with one of the hottest crowds ever, in terms of the noise and loud chants, but even that was somewhat artificial and could've been better, I believe that if the match was better, the crowd reactions would be even crazier. I can't ask a lot from a semi-retired John Cena against a part-timer youtuber like Logan Paul, and yes, probably that was their best choice, a battle of moves, without much logic and storytelling, just move kickout move kickout move kickout move kickout, and that's not something that I'm a huge fan of, but the match had some cool moments, like the Styles Clash, an insanely good callback by John. The rest just didn't made me go crazy, Logan showed a lot of new moves, like the Inoki submission, the Cesaro uppercuts and many others, but they were just moves without any message or meaning, which is not enough to me - {**1/4}"
[4.0] "There were a lot of moves in this match. A lot of moves. My problem was that there wasn't much, or any, connective tissue between them, so you ended up just watching 20 minutes of two guys doing stuff to each other."
[10.0] "The soon to be retired legend John Cena and future world champion Logan Paul square off in an international classic. Great crowd work by Cena. Paul did everything he needed to do. The best match of Clash in Paris."
[9.0] "So, so many moves. This was a real spotfest of a match. And I loved it! Cena really worked his butt off to give Logan the best match possible when it comes to doing athletic maneuvers. Logan is still filthy good at being a heel, even doing small things that most wrestlers don't pay attention to"
[10.0] "Saw this match live in Paris and a second time on TV. Both time the feeling was the same : it rocks ! The atmosphere around this match was pretty special and honestly Cena's farewell tour is goated since Summerslam, we gonna miss him so much."
[5.0] "I was pumped for this match. But unfortunately, watching it was sooooo tiring. Logan Paul tried to bring Cena to a decent level, but he failed. Moreover, at certain moments, Logan had to deliberately restrain himself so that Cena would not look so bad against him. **3/4"
[7.0] "Did this match have good moments. I guess. Did it have a face paced closing 5 minutes or so absolutely it did but Logan Paul is absolutely a terrible pro wrestler. He does nothing good except have athleticism he is absolutely terrible when it comes to executing specific moves as well as the most important thing to have in wrestling. Fundamentals and the basics. So the entire first 10 minutes or so where Cena is on the sell and Paul is doing his garbage offense and heat the match is 100 percent the second worst match at that time only Nikki Bella being one of the worst wrestlers active today being the only reason why it wasn't the worse. Oh and btw if I hear Michael Cole ONE more time disrespect the best upper cut of all time cesaro by saying Paul threw a Cesaro like uppercut I will freak the hell out. And I don't remember where but Cole also said something about inoki in this match towards Paul which those names should never be anywhere near eachother. So Please got Cole and wwe stop trying to make it like Logan Paul is a good wrestler because it can't be the furthest from the truth. He is athletic not a wrestler. But things pick up once Cena makes his comeback which believe it or not some of the most simple moves to take in a ring Logan Paul makes look clunky as hell what a shocker. Then we get some finishers spammed some back and forth and in the end Cena saves this match from being one of the worst ppv matches of the year although he woulda been better off working with a used tampon cena got something out of the worthless dipshit. (****)"
[8.0] "Once again makes the heel run even more sad because this was another great match. Sort of a WWE 2k match with just a crazy amount of moves but I loved it. Cena and Paul went off, now I'm not the biggest Logan fan at all but he played a great heel in this match. The France crowd never miss as they helped this match a lot too. Cena since turning face before Summerslam has just took it back 10 years like it's 2015 and he's been cooking. This is probably Logan Paul's second best single's match in the WWE. It's like they only just now started to try to do on the retirement tour. This was really fun and peak."
[9.0] "I'm am absolutely obsessed with Cena this summer putting in absolute bangers near the end. Using moves from his fellow iconic competitors, pulling off moves he's used during his 2015 run, i just love this"
[7.0] "Following the outstanding matchup between Sheamus and Rusev, we get treated to a John Cena performance once again. This match surprised me -- I didn't expect it to be this good. Moves were being pulled out that we haven't seen from John in what feels like forever, and Logan's athleticism perfectly meshes well within the match. Cena even busted out a fucking END OF DAYS and a STYLES CLASH? It looked like they were both having fun out there, and they put on a great match, all things considered. Cena has been LOCKED IN since Summerslam."
[10.0] "Super Cena level match again! No one would believe all of this one year ago, Cena match got 5 star rating last month and now we are heading towards another 5 or may be 4.5 stars. Love it. #ThankYouCena"
[7.0] "Good match, Cena & Logan had the crowd going crazy, and Cena doing moves of his opponents to honor them was a great touch. Gonna be sad when Cena hangs it up."
[8.0] "The crowd was once again good singing for John Cena's entrance. Cena did a clash style and an eye of day. Logan gave Cesaro an uppercut and a zig zag. At the end, however, we could have included the moment I really liked: Logan imitating Cena and getting fooled by AA. That would have really made the original better than the copy."
[8.0] "Sometimes it was boring and slow because John needed some time to catch his breath, but apart from that, just spamming the moves, it was like John and AJ from 2016, and well, so worth it. I knew this match would unfold like it did. I was hyped for this, and now everyone on the Internet knows it. Logan Paul doesn't have bad matches, you have to admit."
[5.0] "It was a fine match, but it was a complete waste of a Cena retirement tour match. They hit all the big moves, and the crowd was into it, but the story and the investment from me wasn't there. It's yet another match where Logan Paul proves he still deserves to be put in these big matches."
[7.0] "Some really great spots by both competitors in this match. I really wasn't expecting much from this, considering that most of Cena's matches this year have needed a super-talented competitor to help him (CM Punk; Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam) but it was a lot more fun than I'd anticipated. Logan Paul being treated as a credible threat to Cena was surprisingly entertaining, but the match definitely dragged on far too long, with the number of near-falls becoming farcical by the end."
[7.0] "I can't deny that this match is great, I just have a few issues with it here and there. For one, its too long. Other than that, I am a big fan of Cena using moves of his old rivals, but not of Logan doing them. Why is Logan Paul hitting Cesaro uppercuts and a Ziggler Zig-Zag for a nearfall? I also think the End of Days should've led into an AA for the win, due to the mystique around that move specifically having only been kicked out of once or twice in the history of Corbin using it. My summarised opinion is great match, great spots, wrong opponent."
[6.0] "So, like a lot of John Cena matches, you can see John calling spot after spot in this one. Youd figure someone as inexperienced as Logan Paul would really need to be walked through a match, but it's super often and super obvious and this match loses a point for that alone. Logan Paul busts out some new moves in this match which is cool. Cena does him one better though with a tornado ddt, Frankensteiner, and even a styles clash. A fun theme for this match is Cena trying to AA Logan Paul several times and Paul slithering out of it every time. Eventually three AAs does the trick. Good match but the constant jaw jacking from Cena takes it down a notch."
[10.0] "It was one of the most fun matches I've seen recently, the idea of it being a spot festival made sense given the characteristics of both and seeing Cena make unprecedented moves in his career was really cool to see."
[10.0] "For a moment, I thought this was squash, because I still had a grudge from that match with Solo Sikoa, but this was a payback from that tragedy in Saudi Arabia. So, this match was really good, John Cena and Logan put on a show."
[10.0] "Very good match even though i didn't want this match and still wished we got cena vs styles, this match was great, felt like watching prime super cena put on classic matches, wished they didn't turn him heel, greatest Babyface ever"
[10.0] "This is what I wanted from Cena since his return. His last few matches have been plagued with weak in-ring performances and finisher spams that made the AA feel useless. Finally, we get a match where cena shows he still has it. The hurricanrana into a code red was crazy. He looked way more physical and hard hitting. It was also funny seeing him hit some old finishers like the end of days and the styles clash. Logan also did a good job as a heel, working the crowd by imitating the 5 knuckle shuffle and having some solid spots throughout the match. This was a 7/10 match but the crowd and nostalgia factor makes it a 10/10 for me. I'm glad I finally got what I was looking for from Cena again. 10/10"
[1.0] "Logan Paul is not imposing at all as a physical challenge to even this old John Cena, so Cena playing dead even more than against an Umaga or a Lesnar (and with far less good selling, from what I could see, the camera always focusing on Paul stalling). Even worse than that, Cena laying on the floor for most of the match means Paul has to work a 25 minute match mostly in control. Let me tell you, you better like stalling. It's bad with or without the stalling, though. Just an unfocused mess that doesn't set up anything. Also, there's this weird almost meta narrative about Logan Paul doing lots of moves and Cena also being able to do lots of moves. You can do all the different moves you want (it may be the worst part of Cena's run went on top, trying to adapt to the super indies -some of them great at their own thing- and adding superfluous moves), you can turn it into a big move kickout party (as they indeed do), but it's as shallow of a match as shallow can be."
[8.0] "I'm surprised because of this match wasn't a bad or a boring. This was a better version of Reigns/Reed match with higher activity, interaction with fans and great moments. John Cena seeming like the best version of himself and End of Days, Code Red and Styles Clash from him were cool. Logan showed up on his level that is good."
[5.0] "Flashy move (not done in the best form most of the times), nearfall and repeat. So long for a match that empty and repetitive. I'll take it anyway because it's one of the last Cena matches and you have to appreciate the effort (also it's way better than the awful matches of the heel run), but I didn't like it at all. It felt like a videogame match in the worst way possible."
[8.0] "... cena incroyable i dont understand why triple h turned him heel dawg ... then ruined rock's bloodline story for a travis scott spot ... to do nothing with cena worst heel of all time ... when we could've had super cena like this and vs cody for months. triple stupid ... paul champan today"
