[7.0] "Three and three quarters, a very good death match with the match taking a slower pace to start before ending in everything covered in glass. They ended it at the peak."
[6.0] "I'm not the biggest fan of this type of hardcore style but I felt there was some compelling stuff in that one, certainly that crazy dive off the scaffold was really something. That's a big guy for a crazy jump like that, you gotta respect it."
[9.0] "Blood soaked and beer covered maximalist Deathmatch. Both of these men have had better matches this year, but it wasn't surprising that together, they delivered."
[6.0] "The Bear Bronson relaunch has been a fun thing to follow from afar, even if death matches aren't really my thing. This was an important step for that journey, with Bronson proving himself as a death match wrestler opposite Matt Tremont. As expected, it's a very bloody affair that notably, lands on a memorable finish, concluding at its peak. That's saying something, as a whole lot of gore comes beforehand. It certainly feels like violence for violence's sake at times, but that isn't inherently wrong and in this case, it fits the broader narrative. I do wish that it had more urgency though, suffering a considerable lull late. It's pretty plodding throughout, in truth, which is exacerbated by the runtime. I remain encouraged by the tale though, even if it's not something that I'm personally hooked by. ***"
[7.0] "A match where one of the indies' top deathmatch guys takes on a hot newcomer to his turf in a clash of bravado, but outside of a few key moments they're really just doing a bunch of big spots until someone wins. This didn't have the snappy, insanely bloody sequences of Bronson/SLADE, nor a spot as visually cool as the industrial lift (though the scaffold splash finish is pretty good). What this did have was a lot of solid stuff in the first half where Bronson is putting himself through the ringer to prove he belongs in the ring with the Bulldozer with the Ultraviolent Title on the line. That said, after the light tube strike exchange devolved into Bronson breaking them over his own head to show that he can handle it, the match couldn't reach that high again. A great moment for Bronson who was really over but this didn't fully come together. ***1/4+"
[6.0] "Commentary called it a pissing contest, but it was more like a bleeding contest and despite being incredibly bloody and at times brutal, the missing ingredient was actual violence. The 'fighting' itself was just too sluggish & collaborative, and it never once felt like either dude was trying to win this thing - so the points given here are all about the sacrifice and spectacle ***"
[8.0] "Very bloody and violent deathmatch between Bear Bronson and Matt Tremont. Best match across the Homecoming doubleshot. Bear Bronson has been having a notable 2025 since leaving AEW across deathmatches and regular matches with this being a strong culmination of the first going against someone with Matt's overall history in deathmatches."
[0.0] "Gave this this match a shot as I remembered being a fan of Bear Bronson during the pandemic lockdown. He had an interesting look and some charisma, but wow, I walked away completely unimpressed by this match. I'm not anti-deathmatch at all, but this was nonsensical violence for the sake of nonsensical violence, absolutely no storytelling, and the actual little bit of professional wrestling that took place would be insulting to call it on the level of backyarders I found nothing redeemable about this match other then the energy in the building during it, there is certaintly an audience for this nonsense but im not part of it"
[10.0] "Another show-stealer from GCW UV Heavyweight Bear Bronson. Unlike Mr Danger, no one questions his heart in Deathmatch wrestling. He captured the fans early and keeps building that base. Tremont was an excellent dancing partner who assisted him along the way. I got emotional watching Bear cry happy tears."
[9.0] "Who says death match wrestlibg can't be performance art of man's will to live and conquer in the most brutal way. I'm not sure about a 10 but this wowed the pants off of me and reminded me of older death match wrestling matches. They both take control at various parts of the match where they looked like they killed each other. I wonder if we are getting more matches between the two. I'd love for it."
[5.0] "Really mixed emotions on this match. Watching Bear Bronson's huge rise in the deathmatch scene was been really cool to witness and when he made his claim to Matt Tremont's GCW Ultraviolent Championship I knew they were gonna do some crazy shit and crazy shit they did do. This wasn't a grudge match this was match of deathmatch honor which lead to Bear wanting to prove his toughness against the legendary Bulldozer. A cool narrative for the match but one that become rather over indulgent. How long does it take for a proverbial dick measuring contest to turn into the wrestlers simply calling spots loudly. Both men bleed buckets which was an incredible sight and of course there was some great use of glass and gusset plates but then the match began to fall into classic deathmatch pitfalls. First off, I know it sounds ridiculous to criticise safety measures in deathmatch wrestling but I can't do unprotected chair shots to the head, I will never be a fan of that in the modern era. The matches biggest spot was what finished it when Matt Tremont hit a very nice splash off the scaffold to retain but to get there was annoying to me. Bear had to help Tremont up the scaffold and you could argue that it's part of the respect narrative but once there on there that have no room to work with so Bear is thrown off almost immediately after exchanging harsh words. Upon Bear's plummet it becomes apparent that the ring crew has set up a glass door bridge for Bear to fall through which is a big pet peeve of mine in deathmatch. If the spot requires ring crew to set up then it shouldn't be done in my opinion as suggests that the crew is trying to inflict as much as pain as the workers which makes no sense to me. It's undoubtedly a spectacle of a match but not for me. I like my Deathmatch simple and this wasn't that"
[10.0] "spectacle. the most extreme art at its highest level, pure passion bleeding from the competitors. beautifully laid out, apparently blueprinted by tremont beforehand just like havoc's old matches. a strong motyc for america."
[9.0] "Was pretty bored today so I thought I'd put my triller tv subscription to use. Now this was a pretty damn good death match or atleast what I thought was good from my feeble brain on the death match area of wrestling. This match was as bloody as I've ever seen and there was so much glass everywhere it was utterly insane. Now this match isn't a technical spectacle 9 rating by any means. This match isn't some big circus of aerial flight or strong style. This is dirt cheap 20 people in the arena kinda wrasslin' and for my money there's nothing better in the world. GCW is quickly becoming my secret love for when im not trying to be a serious fan. Would recommend to anyone who likes a lot of blood and I mean a lot of it."
[10.0] "As a Deathmatch fan this is America's DOTY, without a doubt. The amount of glass that was broken was insane and they never stopped, this certainly was a showcase of violence and the ending with the Kasai Tribute was crazy. Absolutely wild and worthy of the highest praise. *****1/4(5, 25*/10, 5 out of ten)"
[4.0] "This match was rough. The spots were okay but I don't really see anything about this that was better than a standard death match. Lots of glass and some barb wire doesn't make a great match. Nothing terribly creative happened. The biggest move was a splash from a scaffold; it takes a lot of guts to do something like this with all the glass around, but it doesn't make it a good match. There's no denying that they put themselves through hell. But I just can't rate this highly because of some weapon shots. Also I get the conceit, but breaking a dozen tubes over your own head without selling kind of takes the luster off the other tube spots. I'm not a huge death match fan, but there was little I found entertaining. Again these guys are tough as nails, and I would never ever think of attempting to do any of this, but that doesn't make it great."
[10.0] "Insane. I've seen a lot of Tremont matches both in person and on stream but rarely have I ever been concerned by how much he was bleeding. Genuinely looked like he was leaving a puddle of blood everywhere he went. I was not familiar with Bronson before this recent GCW run and he lived up to the hype for sure. The only real qualm I have here is I think it might have been the right call to put the belt on him now, but otherwise a fantastic main event. GCW in AC had lost a little luster recently but these two shows have brought it back nicely for me. Hopefully they keep the momentum going."
[9.0] "Just unreal. Probably GCW's most highly anticipated match of the year? This lived up to every expectation. This was two guys going out there and beating the shit out of each other until one couldn't fight anymore. Whilst there were certainly elements I usually don't like (one count kickouts, light tube duels...), they worked here. Everything worked here. The best American deathmatch of the year, and GCW's best match of the year. ****1/2."
