[8.0] "Saya was all over AZM during the first couple of minutes here and that submission she put on AZM was painful looking. AZM had enough and gave Saya a stiff kick to the side of her head, not only that, but gave her a stomp to the ribs from flying off the middle turnbuckle to the floor. I loved that sell Saya did from a missile dropkick. AZM did another perfectly timed armbar counter, just a thing of beauty it is. I really thought it was over when AZM hit the destroy and rolled her up, but Saya kicked out. This match was so good and was very fast pace towards the end of it, but they would have an even better match in September with a longer time."

I like sprint because it wastes no time and every spot can be reacted well from the fans. They all work hard and deliver great performances here. The finish saw AZM scoring an upset and the fans like her a lot. Thumb up for sure."

[10.0] "Feels like it's been a really good year for Stardom, and here's yet another example! We've got 22 year old prodigy AZM taking on the current champion Saya Kamitani in a Grand Prix match, the equivalent of NJPW's G1 Climax, so no title on the line but still major implications... the typically nasty Kamitani started hot with a blitz attack but it was a hard fought sprint on both sides. Both wrestlers pulled out some extremely nasty shots and worked a vicious pace, they really blasted away at each other and I was very much here for it. Kamitani has grown on me a lot but I got my wish as AZM got the upset victory here, I have to think she's a future top champion and it's not too far in the future either. The crowd was massively behind her too, if she is the one to unseat Kamitani in the end I will not be mad about it."

[8.0] "[4.0*] When I heard that this was a very fast-paced 12-min match with a incredibly high rating, I immediately thought that this was not going to be "for me". It's just not my natural fit, but as I became a huge Saya fan this year, I decided to watch it. Man, what an awesome and complete match. It started off with beautiful character work from Saya, with a nuce and creative control segment while she was farming aura every second she could lol, and from the point they returned to the ring on it became a very cool spotfest. Their chemistry was great, the crowd was all into it and the false finishes were amazing. I don't watch STARDOM regularly but all my friends said that Saya was the favorite, so when AZM won it was a legit surprise that popped the crowd a lot. Very cool shit, honestly. It was a bombfest, but a bombfest with previous character work and nice progression until it peaked."

[9.0] "Probably the match of the tournament for me and I don't even know if the finals will top this. The experience of that match stands out for me, it is the best and most improved wrestlers in the entire Stardom (Sareee is not signed) facing the skilled motherfucking future face of Stardom in a bout they gave their best in a short amount of time. The spots here from the beggining until the end are incredible, not because they're "unique" but because you don't expect them at all. And that for a joshi match is already enough to make that match different and special compared to the others. The kicks from AZM, spots like the BTB and Robinson Special from Saya, they just came, you didn't notice it but they come. And the end express exactly this, after kicking out of the Star Crusher, AZM somehow manage to execute her classic roll up and there is it, she won. A impressive show of good wrestling maneuvers add with unpredictable for what is gonna come next, exactly what a good match need to entertain not only the crowd but also, last but not least, me."

[8.0] "An incredibly fun sprint. The pace these two kept up was insane. I thought they did enough early on to build in a story, so when things got crazy in the back half, there was more substance there than just a spotfest. Kamitani may be the best performer in the world and can adapt to work with anyone, and this was very much an AZM match once things got going. AZM picks up a huge win, and you'd think there's a title shot coming down the line. For as good as this was, I have a feeling they could top this. 4.25 stars."

[7.0] "****1/2 great match, the best of the event up to that point without a doubt, great constant pace from start to finish, great fast sequences with really good reversals, great kick-outs like Saya's to the Destroyer and roll-pin combo, great chemistry, a lot of fluidity, and a very good ending but that made them fall short of what they were delivering, it only lasted 12 minutes and I think it was one of the fights that needed more time, because despite how great the match was they were a bit rushed at the end, and it ended with a roll-pin that I didn't see as necessary because the way it was applied doesn't protect Saya that much, so the way they lost didn't matter, and the ending was somewhat sudden but it came from a very good sequence."

[8.0] "Very good match. This one got off to a rough start with some sloppy high speed stuff that Saya has never been able to pull off. Once that was done, things improved the rest of the way. AZM and Saya had good exchanges, neither would have an advantage for too long and it made you wonder who was going to win. The last couple of minutes fell into the Stardom formula of doing a bunch of near falls in quick succession. AZM manages to pin Saya in a big win for her and regardless of what happens the rest of the way in the tournament earned herself a red belt match. 8/10"

[7.0] "Saya Kamitani is really hit or miss for me. I find her immediate heel tactics to be quite repetitive and uninteresting and the quality of the match really depends on what follows the outside bollocks to kick off. It's also greatly reliant on her opponent and while I like AZM as much as Kamitani, neither are really locks for MOTN in my opinion. Luckily the match was a sprint full of intensity which made it hard not to enjoy but with that came some goofy selling and sloppy moves in amongst genuinely impressive sequences. Very good match but not quite great in my opinion"

[9.0] "This shit fucking rocked such an amazing sprint of a match between two excellent fucking wrestlers. 2 matches of watching her and i now really get the AZM hype so is elite this was other worldly levels of wrestling every sequence was so so good, every bit of technical wrestling was so precise, every near fall was perfectly time it had me on the edge of my seat. The spinning armbar followed by a crazy combination of rolling pins everything AZM does is brilliant. Saya was fucking excellent in this match a great heel performance with crazy aura farming at the start, lots of big moves, strikes and counters she nailed every single thing she did in this match. This was two of the best women in the world going bang for bang and it was fucking incredible. They need to have a longer match as it would be an instant 5 star match based of what i saw in this 12 minute god tier sprint of a match. It is just match length stopping me giving this 5 stars. (****3/4)"

[7.0] "I'm using the translation function, so it might be hard to understand. It was a good match, but I've completely lost interest in this type of match (known as "athlete pro wrestling" in Japan). They had great momentum and offense and defense, but they were restless (which is understandable considering the short length of the match), and the important elements unique to pro wrestling, like timing and facial expressions, were completely absent. Having Kamitani and Sareee eliminated in the quarterfinals was a ridiculously foolish move (although I'm glad AZM, Momo, and Rina are being pushed), and I worry that it will cause Kamitani, who was on track to become the top wrestler in Japanese pro wrestling (including men's), to lose her momentum."

[9.0] "Awesome encounter between AZM and Saya! It's arguably the best match of the tournament, both were absolutely incredible. Chemistry was off charts and the ending was also shocking - AZM pinned Kamitani eliminating her from the 5STAR. I definitely did not expected that but i'm so happy for AZM cause she had awesome GP this year and i wouldn't be mad if she would be the one winning it all. ****, 5"

AZM continues her amazing run in the tournament, while the Phenex Queen has been dethroned as the favorite to win it all. I really hope to see a longer rematch between the two, this time for the title. Because, I feel like they could do even better in those settings. ****1/2"

[10.0] "Hell yeah, this was outstanding! AZM may well be the most under-heralded wrestler in any notable promotion. No only was she fast and flawless as ever in her movements, but she did all her spectacular stuff while still retaining the feel of a prestigious combat sports tournament. The crowd went wild for her when she pulled the upset over Kamitani, who also killed it with her performance. ****3/4"

Recently, the older Saya has been ahead in popularity and achievements, but it seems AZM's turn is finally here. The best match of the night."
