[5.0] "Bret wants revenge for the sneak attack at Mania 4. They finally turned the harts baby face shortly after this and Bret and Anvil are more tweeners at this point. Wasn't one of Bret's better matches as Bad News are getting pretty immobile by this point in his career. Bit of an upset with Bad News getting the win. By the beginning of 89 they more or less gave up on Bad News and a main event threat after Savage turned heel."

[7.0] "Most of this match was characterised by Bret being on the offence. Brown got the occasional counter move out reversal in but it was Bret that dominated throughout. That is why the finish, with the suprise roll up on Hart by Brown, seemingly came out of nowhere. Work wise, it was obvious Bret was calling the match and more or less walking Bad News through it but that isn't such a bad thing. Nice to see a match where it is obvious that a Bret is right at the beginning of his ascendancy to mega stardom."
[6.0] "Bad News Brown was never a great wrestler, but he was up against Bret Hart in this match and that's going to fix most of the problems with his limitations. The only real problem was that it was too short to do much with."
[7.0] "These two are beefing because Bret destroyed Bad News Brown's trophy after his battle royal win at WrestleMania 4. That was essentially Bret Hart's face turn: being a poor sportsman. Wrestling is weird. This was a pretty good back and forth match between the two rivals and started Bad News's' ascent towards the main event."
